  1. With both KOTOR I & II I played/am playing through as a female, both DS and LS, and then I'll play through as a bloke. I think I might skip choosing Revan as a male in TSL though - Bastila makes me want to vomit.
  2. Ooh, it's like in KOTOR I where you get TM3 removed from your team and replaced with 6 Zalbaars...
  3. Yeah, I felt the same way too... I thought it was fitting that he should choose the dark path, as I was playing DS that time around, but in retrospect, I feel kinda bad. Oh well. I was only playing DS so I could unlock the Easter Eggs. I HATE playing DS. I'm actually amazed that I managed to actually finish the game by doing so. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I actually feel really guilty doing DS deeds...even though it's only a game, and I haven't REALLY convinced an ill man to kill himself, or encourage a Quarren to sell a small girl as a slave....
  4. And that is a bad thing? Emotions is what RPGs is all about for me. And I mean real emotions. What is more real than love, hate... and sorrow? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not a bad thing, no - it's a testament to the skill of the game developers if they can actually make a game where the player feels an emotional attachment to the characters.
  5. Reading all this stuff about cut material reminds me of the first Soul Reaver - that had loads of stuff cut. In the end, they took the sequels in a completely different direction. Having a character die can be a double-edged sword - you might gain respect because you've given the story integerity and realism, but on the other hand, some people might feel cheated by the death of one of their characters. Like in..... Final Fantasy VII - Aeris died halfway through the game. I knew grown men that cried at that.... Final Fantasy X - Tidus fading from existance. Felt a bit robbed at that. Legacy of Kain: Defiance - Raziel gets absorbed into the Soul Reaver. I cried at this! But I felt it was a good move - his character had perhaps gone as far as it could. And relating to Star Wars, LucasFilm decided to kill off Chewbacca and Anakin (Han and Leia's youngest son) in the Star Wars novels, because it felt unrealistic that they could go for decades participating in these highly dangerous situations without losing anybody. Nothing like a good death to make to appreciate the magnitude of the threat you're facing.
  6. Not a lot of love in this thread for poor Malak....
  7. Although I enjoyed Eps I & II, there were certain things that bothered me. 1: The whole 'midichlorian' thing. 2: The over-reliance on bad CGI. 3: The slightly stodgy scripting 4: The under-developed relationship between Anakin and Padme. She goes from being creeped out by his weirdness to suddenly declaring her love for him. 5: Jar Jar Binks I have great hopes that Episode III will be amazing, though.
  8. I'd just like the whole HK-50 storyline panning out to completion, and to have party-interraction on Malachor. It seemed a bit...I don't know, unfair that you crash the ship, and then have no further direct contact with your party members.
  9. I will post in defense of K2. First of all, the "hole in the Force" is another way of saying that the Exile is a wound in the Force. It makes sense, really. He's killed so many people that all their lives lost left a gap in life itself. The Force is life. There was a gap in the Force; a wound. Secondly, the Force bond was faked. Kreia led you to believe that your Force bond would be likely to endanger both lives. She did this so you would not have thoughts of killing her--because it would be killing yourself. That's why none of the Jedi Masters knew of such extreme bonds. They don't exist!!! Lastly, blame Lucasarts, not Obsidian. They set an early deadline. Only 18 months where as Bioware had 3 years. WTF?!! I just want to convince those who hate KOTOR2 to look at it from a different angle. Look how much Obsidian accomplished in 18 months! Over 30+ hours of gameplay. I personally thought K2 was equal to K1, if not greater. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Then why did the Exile experience the pain of Kreia's hand getting cut off? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Kreia's telepathy is pretty impressive - she could have very well transmitted her pain to the Exile, to create the notion of a possibly fatal force bond. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And she was able to commit this sinister mind trick while she got her hand cut off by Sion's lightsaber? It sounds very illogical. Also explain how Exile and Kreia shared their force powers. When Kreia used a force power, Exile got it as well, and vice versa. And other stuff. It sounds too big for even Kreia to handle. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Err...all Jedi can do that they're just lazy and selfish!? And Kreia could have let her arm get cut off, to errr.... No, I might as well accept it - I'm more stumped than Kreia's arm......
  10. Wow, that stuff's amazing, really amazing! I particularly enjoyed the strip on how Malak lost his jaw!!! :D
  11. Are you overwriting the same slot alot? The reason I ask is because the bug you're experiencing sound identical to the one in KOTOR - I later found out that it's a problem with the way the game saves, and one that has been carried over to KOTOR II (it even says 'Save frequently, and in different slots' on one of the load screens. I learnt my lesson, and as a result haven't overwritten a single slot - my Xbox has 50,000+ slots, and I'll damn well use them all for an easier life!! I've only (!) had the game crash on me twice (both hangs whilst loading) - it sucks, but at least it doesn't seem to have as many major bugs as KOTOR I - just lots of smaller niggly ones.
  12. I was going to say the only cartoon he hasn't voiced on was superfriends, but there was the link. Damn, what a resume!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Michael Bell and Tony Jay get around a lot too - they're in the Legacy of Kain series, Balders Gate...and the G1 Transformers cartoons! (Along with Frank Welker, who was the mighty Megatron!)

  14. Anything by any of the HK units, or Atton saying, 'I'd be screaming like a mynock! I mean, er....a tough, manly mynock...."
  15. He was just...meh. He was just so smug and self-righteous, not to mention blonde ("No Atton! I think it is a trap!!"). He's occasionally funny, but he just got on my nerves. A bit like Mission in KOTOR...
  16. I found it rather curious when Darth Sion declared his...affection for the exile. On what was this infatuation based? The one fight on Korriban?! Doesn't take much to get his attention!! I don't know exactly what has been cut out of the game - because I wanted to finish the game with no spoilers, I avoided all KOTORII communities and posts like the plague!! But now I've finished it, I'm here and seeing references to stuff that's been cut?
  17. Rigsut Satlyn <_<
  18. I've just finished TSL for the first time, and it seemed very...short. 22 hours - KOTOR I took me over 40, first go. I'll still play it through another couple of times though - I've heard that if you play it through a third time after completing it with both a DS and LS character, there's extra dialogue between the party members. Personally, I'd like to have seen a bit more bad guy action - in KOTOR, you see Malak brooding quite often in cutscenes, and I think it would have been nice to see Nihilus and Sion a bit more.
  19. Poor Disciple - he's in last place with Hanharr!! Atton wins for me, purely for the 'strong, manly mynock' quip!! Don't worry, it doesn't! I'd noticed the gender confusion - occassionally the jedi masters refer to the exile as a 'he', regardless of your character's gender. It makes me wonder if it's an error in the programming (calling the wrong strings or missing strings), or if they didn't have time/forgot to record the female equivalent dialogue. It'd be nice if they could fix it.
