  1. Being able to waste crowds of fully armoured Sith with a lightsaber while wearing less fabric than it takes to cover a saucer - now that's power!* *now don't spoil my fun by saying it's because the game's too easy....)
  2. My current character is pretty much neutral, just as a result of roleplaying. She just pretty much dislikes everyone, and suffers no fools. If people are respectful, she'll respond, otherwise they can go hang. So, she liked the Ithorians and hated the corporate scumbags, but can't stand Vrook. She's ended up pretty much neutral in alignment, but is usually solving the quests in the LS manner. It's odd. Also, Visas appeared quite early, I think you get her one you have acquired a certain number of alignment points, whatever side they are for. bg.
  3. Hmm.......you gave Mira a vibroblade because blasters are useless?? In my experience, Mira can drop almost anything with a blaster in a shot or two, I'd never consider giving her a blade. And Bao with a ranged weapon?? Look at your characters stats - if they have high DEX, stick to ranged, if high strength, use melee. Works for me. bg.
  4. That Sin City Mira comic ROCKS!!! your versatility is amazing! thankyou for posting this! bg.
  5. Make sure you try out playing pazaak with Atton twice, then whacking him upside the head - I nearly fell off my chair. "I taught myself.....techniques" bg.
  6. Oh God, these are so great - had seen the Bao one, but the Atton one was new. I was laughing so hard at the bit where Bao realised what you're about to do with droid-Atton......his face, and the line about shielding his mind.......priceless. I don't care if you're the straightest guy ever - you still have to see these. bg.
  7. Thanks for posting the German text, Ilona - I love reading how things get translated! bg.
  8. You do get additional convos if you get high INF - stuff about how Revan beat him up and sodded off to the Outer Rim. bg.
  9. I imagine one reason the GoTo/Remote/HK47 part of the ending was cut was that it's possible to finish the game having never reassembled HK47, so he could hardly just appear in the ending scenes. Originally, I assume reassembling him must have been compulsory to get to Malachor, probably you needed him to get to the droid planet, or had to do the HK factory to complete the game. What are the plans in this regard - it's easy to miss part of HK, and thus you could lock yourself into a dead end quite early on, and not know it. Will you mod in additional places to get the parts? bg.
  10. http://members.shaw.ca/t7nowhere/mod_hlpn.htm be warned, it also tries to install 800 other mods, including making Bastila blonde, for some reason. But you can deselect most of them. bg
  11. Actually, there is the Carth Redemption ending modded on for KOTOR1, since it wasn't finished by the developers in time for release. bg.
  12. I'm not saying *anything*...... bg.
  13. Yeah, why is that??? Has anyone found a good use for heavy armour? I mean, I never thought it was worth giving anyone heading for Jedihood, or handy with a DEX-oriented blaster the Heavy armour feat, and IIRC, Bao can't even get it! Why on earth can't he get the feat? Did they not make the models or something? Ridiculous...... bg.
  14. Suvam'd win, since you can *persuade* the bat into losing! And Suvam could talk anyone's ear off........ bg.
  15. I wouldn't send Mandalore, if you care about getting INF with him, since there is at least one rare opportunity in the final Onderon section, if you play LS at least (I forget if you can get it DS...) bg.
  16. So I've been reading the dialogue file.....found this: I am temp man. Some of Bao Dur's dialogue in the Telos surface base apparently contains the line: "I don't do anything now, but I'll eventually run around in here with you knocking down shields and crap with my MIGHTY ELECTRO-FIST.FEAR THE FIST!FEEEAAAR IT!!!" ......I don't think so! Such scamps, these developers, leaving this stuff in the files..... The really funny thing is, as far as I can tell, they included a dialogue reply for the Exile! - "OK, OK, I fear it.Wow. I'll be going now." :D Also found some stuff that seems to indicate there used to be a scene where T3 would play a holovid of Canderous and Revan, their final confrontation, and there is dialogue with T3 about why Revan fought Candy - something about "He/She wasn't trying to kill Canderous, he/she was trying to break him". Interesting - if it's been mentioned in the Cut Scenes topic, I must've missed it, but if so, sorry. Who else has found anything good? (that's not been talked to death already) BG.
  17. Couldn't agree more.... <snip> As it is, though, things are pretty mild for me, and I was shocked how disappointed I was by the ending. I mean, fundamentally, it's just a game, right? It's been bugging me, though. And GuardDog hits on it: as it seems to have been conceived, TSL could have excelled the original in almost all ways. But it didn't. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My feelings exactly. It's just always going to be there, nagging at me vaguely. Like the never-to-be-resolved cliffhanger ending of Gabriel Knight 3. Argh. BG. (but on the plus side, I think I need to play Baldur's gate and PS:T)
  18. You know, I was playing through a neutral/DS game, and Atton's conversion to Jedi works *so* much better, taking the "Jedi lies" route. I actually think it's far more plausible that the jedi was messing with Atton's head - after all, he did end up a confused fool, from being a killer! It makes no sense that she would sacrifice her life just to get him out of the Sith if it was only for his sake - that's stupid. Like getting killed by a car pushing a beetle out of the way - not heroic, stupid! She must have been doing it to remove him as a potential threat, and it makes more sense to tell Atton so. He regains his self respect, and the whole scene is more fulfilling, I think. Screw the DS points - you don't have to choose all bad responses anyway, most of them are rational, IMO. bg.
  19. It's hard - I picked that I loved both, but..... I'd agree that 2 had the potential to be better. There were some wonderful ideas, and the characters and many story ideas, and the greater moral ambiguity - all really amazing. But.....just needed 6 more months of development! Ultimately, 1 was more satisfying, emotionally, by the end. But we've been over this too many times already, I think. BG.
  20. Feminazis? I say Sion should have been female. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, because wanting equality is pretty much the same as hating people because of their race alone or maybe their sexual orientation too, and wanting to murder billions of people because of their race or sexual orientation or ethnicity, and your own overwhelming hatred and oh, *actually* murdering millions of people because of their race or sexual orientation or ethnicity or fun-club membership. But then there's no true equality and asking for it just makes guys feel bad, so yeah, I can see how that's pretty much the same thing, yo. Or, like, anyone who uses the word Nazi to describe non-Nazis is like, a Nazi and stuff, yo. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> *applauds* Can we please drop the whole "feminazi" term and just use "idiot" for people who clearly are twisting feminism into something it shouldn't be? (e.g. attacking men) Also - love the Delirium avatar, Aurora! BG.
  21. Disciple is a stereotype! He's perpetuating the idea that blondes are incredibly dumb....
  22. Well, my last game, my PC spent most of the game in the Dancing Outfit, just cause she looked so damn fabulous. And it rocked to watch her take down fully armoured guys wearing a dental floss bikini. How's that for girl power? There's nothing anti-feminist in being sexy - as Mira realised, it can be powerful in itself. Defining people by their appearance alone - that's sexist. BG (a traditional feminist, for the record, which means simply believing men and women are of equal worth.)
  23. Did you ever hear Mira when she explains why she dresses as she does? I did find it plausible, actually. Eh....I didn't think the game was sexist, and I'm usually bothered by such things. I did find Visas annoyingly subservient, but that was part of her character, it was interesting. And Mira is great.....Bothan stunners, anyone? BG.
  24. And running around naked with a helmet, sword, and a shield with a red upsidedown V on it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Saying that the Spartans had "institutionalised military homosexuality" is...well...rather gay  The only case of PROVEN military homosexuality in ancient Greece is of an army group the Thebans had formed that consisted solely of homosexual troops, and they kicked quite serious butt too (take the expression as you will ) And I also believe Mandalorians quite resemble the Spartan way of life, but with the fundamendal difference that the Spartans never razed entire cities just to provoke their enemies... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, it depends what you mean by "institutionalised military" homosexuality. The entire Spartan way of life and male education was a military one. Homosexual behaviour was institutionally part of this system - a boy was expected to have an older male lover from the age of around 12. At 20, he took on his own younger male lover. At 30, he had to get married to a woman. All this was institutionalised, and corresponded to advancing in military training. See Plutarch's Life of Lycurgus, section 17. Looks like institutionalised military homosexuality to me! :D -and institutionalsed heterosexually, for that matter, it was all controlled, and based on age-class (as the army was). Although "homosexuality" is not really the right concept, since the ancient Greeks did not distinguish between being attracted to women and boys, the real difference was whether you were sexually active or passive. And thanks for that image I now have of Canderous running round naked with a helmet and shield!! BG.
