  1. LOL "It"? Poor Disciple... nobody loves him... people even subconsciously refer to him as "it".
  2. YOU feel shocked? Try being me... every time I watch that scene now, I keep looking for family resemblances.
  3. Yeah, that's the one. Yeah, I was pretty shocked. I overheard him say something about it to somebody else a couple years ago, so I jumped in and the conversation went a little bit like: Me: Dude, your mom was in Return of the Jedi? Adam: Yeah, she played Mon Mothma... Me: *blink* Dude, your mom was in Return of the Jedi???
  4. Exactly. I seriously don't understand why some girls don't GET that. I mean, seriously, have they ever set foot in a game store? I know I always become extremely aware of my gender when I do. The testosterone levels can be a little overwhelming at times. It's not a sexist thing, it's just about MONEY. The companies aren't stupid -- they do market research all the time. If at any time, they started to see a noticeable change in the trend, they would start marketing toward female gamers more. But the mere fact that it's not changing indicates that, while there may or may not be more female gamers, it's still not enough of a change to make decent money off it. A few years ago, car companies started noticing that women had more and more to say in the decision to buy a family car. So they started building more minivans with airbags and all that safety stuff, and they changed their advertising so that it's aimed more toward women. That is because they did their market research and saw a change. Like I said, it's all about making money. And until game designers start noticing such a change in their market, things will remain the same. I don't know, I'm probably just rehashing what GoA has already said... but that's just because it's true. Maybe it's just easier for me to understand because I work in a male-dominated industry. *shrugs* It doesn't always have to be about sexism.
  5. *shudder* That statement is especially disturbing to me considering the original Mon Mothma was played by my co-worker's MOM. Ewwwwwww....
  6. Females can only talk to Handmaiden, the same way you only talked to Disciple. She doesn't influence the story at all. She's just there one moment, gone the next. Then you're off to Dantooine to pick up the guy with the big teeth. Edit: always one step ahead, I see, LadyCrimson.
  7. Yeah, I think we all were. <_< I believe the exact words that crossed my mind during that scene were "What? No! Why can't I... Noooooooo!" And begrudgingly settled on the most harmless-sounding answer that left the most wiggle room for something still happening. Ah well... *le sigh*
  8. Oh man... How did I not open this thread before now? "It might take longer than that for some of us..." "You spend all day thinking up that joke?" Who knew Disciple was able to deliver a good burn?
  9. Is this turning into a "let me plug my fanfic" thread? ... ... Cause I'll join! :D Atton's Redemption Please review it!
  10. Um... yeah, I do agree here... I mean, there are VERY few women/girls I know who play video games... and not one I would consider a "serious" gamer. Whereas I know many, many, many guys that are. As much as I would love to see more games aimed at the female audience for my own personal benefit, it makes absolutely no sense from a financial point of view for a company to waste its time trying to please the female target audience when there's just no money in it for them -- and I don't blame them one bit for not catering to the female audience any more than they already do.
  11. *shrugs*I'm more of an Atton fan. To each her own, I guess. Me, I'm not so much into the horny guy. *cough* Um... Wait... that's not what I meant...
  12. Thanks! I got a new chapter up last night. It was hell writing that one, let me tell you. But reviews started coming in, and apparently I did an okay job. *whew* I'm pretty sure you don't have to worry about screaming at your monitor. Your story was quite good, I thought.
  13. ...Or when you're supposed to be working... (No, Boss, I swear I don't do that... )
  14. Noooo, Damned Lucasarts <_< <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wow, it's almost as though you're surprised it was rejected. I had pretty well assumed all along that this would be the case.
  15. Yeah, that's the scene all right... I was just implying that in order to see that scene, you have to have more influence over Disciple than over Atton. That scene is triggered basically because Atton's starting to feel insecure.
  16. Okay, that's probably the funniest thing I've read today.
  17. Yeah... meal... that's ALSO what I was thinking... I was outraged at the... idea of making a woman cook... yeah... that's totally it. *shifty eyes*
  18. Well, I wouldn't go as far as saying that it's "good", but yeah, basically.
