This was the most controversial moment in Game of Thrones' last episode. Spoilers (not really).

Well, the books were released in 1996, 1998, 2005 and 2011. So it's 2, 2, 5 and 6 years between them. If the next one comes in, let's say, 2021, then the time between books is doubling after 2 of them are released. That would put the last one after 2030... I don't remember the last one dying. When was that?

I was very disappointed by the GoT episode too.

Obsidian future plans for PoE series
InsaneCommander replied to juanval's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Not necessarily. If they reveal it is not in development, that doesn't mean they can't develop it later. Assuming they use the PoE2 system and resources, it should be easier to make than PoE2, so I'm confident we will see it eventually.

The Blockbuster Oscar Bait Movie Thread
I've been working until late and I won't be able to watch Avengers on the weekend. I should probably call sick next week, because there is only so long you can avoid spoilers.

There is a lot of GoT theories in the internet, but if check carefully you actually find some pretty good ones, like some about the Night King for example. If GRRM said that we don't need stories of pure good vs pure evil and implied that the hero doesn't need to be a conventional one, I'm confident we'll get a satisfying end in the books. However I'm afraid the producer's of the show won't worry too much about that. But who knows. We did get a shot of the island of faces or whatever it is called in this episode's opening...

I enjoyed them too, but I didn't expect much. Expect nothing and you won't be surprised.

That! That is how they are going to subvert expectations this time. No Palpatine at all in the whole movie. There is precedence with the fake Avengers: Infinity War trailers. lol

I wonder what they will do this time to "subvert expectations"? Maybe Jar Jar Binks is Palpatine? Or the Skywalker to rise is actually one of Luke's pets in that island, the creatures I don't even remember the name.

New Scientific Discoveries, Part Drei
Probably soon. They just have to combine these two technologies, the holograms from above and this one: Invisible 3D objects can be felt thanks to haptic holograms.

New Scientific Discoveries, Part Drei
I found some where I first saw these news, but it is a website in portuguese: Edit: they are probably from the article in Nature Photonics Breaking crosstalk limits to dynamic holography using orthogonality of high-dimensional random vectors Ghaith Makey, Ozgün Yavuz, Denizhan K. That is a good explanation, but just make it even stranger that the Federation developed such technology (not to mention the spore drive) and it will disappear before TOS. Even if they have moral reasons to ban it or they go back in time and prevent its creation, why couldn't the Romulans or another less decent race develop something similar?- TV & streaming thread
