  1. Seriously, will no one answer my question about whether the style's graze to hit bonus stacks with the fighter ability Confident Aim's graze to hit bonus?

I would assume that they stack, given that the Active Abilities list doesn't show either one as suppressed. I have that setup on an Eder with Flail equipped for about 70%-80% graze to hit conversion rate.

Regarding 1 handed style, an easy way to make it better would be to apply the bonus to:

    1. Graze to Hit
    2. Hit to Crit

That way you get some type of bonus for higher accuracy characters.

As a philosopher you should know how to express yourself clearly and, just as importantly, concisely.

My eyes glazed over when I got to the wall of text at the end.

All you do in this comment is confirm the prejudice that american people do more stive for rhetoric than content.

There is absolutely no wall of text, it is for you, you have the attentionspan of a child.

Additionally as a "philosopher" your thoughts should be anything than short, cause a philosophers wants to look behind the everyday reductionism

to uncover its deceitfulness instead of making it even stronger.

Nice assumption that he's an American. It's a wall of text no matter how you look at it.

  3. Issue: Wizard spells disappear from spell list on the character level-up screen.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Select a spell during Wizard level-up, then proceed to the talent selection screen.
    2. Return to the spell selection screen, pick a different spell then proceed to talent selection screen.
    3. Return tot he spell selection screen; the spell initially picked is now missing.

Tested with a level 1 Aloth during level-up.

  4. Not sure why people are bragging about their "mandatory" set-ups and putting down everything else when the game is easy enough to be completed with just about any set-up. Pull your head out of your asses.

Your party line-up is fine OP, just pick a group of talents to focus on and see how it works for you. Asking the forum for a specific set-up never ends well imo, just find your own style.

That silliness is a bit lacking in Pillars, at least on the surface.

I'm fine without silliness. Some of the banter is hilarious anyway.

Btw, recently I purchased BG2 enhanced and plan the very first playthrough of my life. I was on an old mac back when it first came out. Does anyone know where to look for character creation tips?

Gotta agree. Some of those conversations with Hiravias had me giggling hysterically. But you have to dig for the humor in Pillars, whereas in BG1-2 you just stumble into it everywhere.

As for character creation tips...it's pretty self-explanatory, and the enhanced edition tells you during character creation which attributes are essential to your character class. Remember that tanky characters need decent wisdom scores for their will saves. The easiest character to build is the mage, who basically only needs intellect. The hardest build (imo) is the paladin, who needs everything except intellect. Google has tons of in-depth guides available once you've chosen your class.

I remember Wisdom being a dump stat for every class that wasn't some type of Priest or Druid. There was something about saving throw bonuses for Dwarfs, Gnomes and Halflings through extra Constitution, though.

Creating characters was very much trial and error in those games, unless you had some previous knowledge.

  6. The game doesn't force you to pull individual targets. In fact, it's very easy to pull entire groups yet fight only a few at a time due to the way the AI interacts with choke points and barriers.

And yes, vanilla BG games had the same "issues" where you could pull individual units or even attack from outside their LOS without attracting attention. You could "abuse" choke points in those games too.

  7. You can mix and match your party with creative synergies and succeed, or be a sheep and constantly bleat that there's no way to play but min-maxing tank and spank and ruin your experience. If you have no experience with the BG or IWD series, check out Sensuki's guide posted above which gives a pretty solid overview of the system.

Positioning is important in this game, letting yourself get surrounded like your image shows is a sure-fire way to failure. Try to control the space that the enemies can take with engagement and the terrain (choke-points, barriers, etc).

  8.

Just don't use the spells? Nobody is forcing you to select or use them.

The problem is that other spells should be as useful as Mental Binding. Right now nearly none of them feel powerful to use.

If every spell is as good as Mental Binding, then the Cipher on a whole would need a major beating with the nerf bat. Mental Binding should be brought in line with the others or moved to a higher spell tier.

  9. There's always solo for people finding the difficulty "too easy". I'm running solo and it seems fine, I guess this is all a matter of perspective.

People looking for a challenge should not need to gimp themselves when you have game modes stating that they will "provide a challenge for IE veterans" or that they are only for "players who want the most punishing encounters". Why should we be forced to run around solo because Hard and POTD have failed in their stated purpose?

Accessibility is important, but if you're not even going to try balancing your "difficult modes" then they should just be removed imo.

Thanks Nakia. Apparently never read all the character discriptions when creating mine.

I like your moon godlike portrait I think it close.   As I  recall the description also says that their limbs may cast a glow.  If you have a male moon godlike I would love  to see it.

If I had your  talent, GM, I would do one much like the one you did.  If I added pupils they would be faint not dark so they stand out but subtle.  I would make the hair more spikey.  The coloring is very good and the crescent perfect.

Do you mean Jaceface's Moon Godlike?

Oops, my error.  That is what I get for not reading carefully.  I do like who ever did it but I need a male.  Maybe a new brain too it is after midnight here so I will use that as an excuse.

Check that link, Jaceface has a male moon godlike in his collection.
