  1. Neither of the two political parties in the United States is in favor of free speech. The only difference between them as one pretends to be in the other makes no pretense that they are not.
  2. It was from the upgrade but I found them. You were right it did create a new profile.
  3. Did you lose all your bookmarks? I did.
  4. I sold the wood burning iron stove I’ve been restoring yesterday. It turned out pretty nice if I do say so. I wasn’t able to find exact parts to do the restoration so I had to do a little reengineering. It wasn’t expensive just a lot of time and a lot of elbow grease. I really wanted to keep it and make use of it but my original plans for it have changed and I really don’t have anywhere to keep it. If I keep it in the barn it will be rusted again in no time. Time to find a new project.
  5. I made six mason jars of pickles and picked peppers. I used petite cucumbers and jalapeños from the garden. I filled six 24oz jars with the veggies and dill, red pepper flakes, minced garlic and fine chopped Vidalia sweets. The brine solution has water, vinegar, sugar, pink salt, pepper. They are in the fridge waiting on chemistry to do it’s work.
  6. I grew some cucumbers in the garden. They’re almost ready. I’m going to try making pickles. Never done it before and good Lord are there a lot of recipes for it on the web
  7. wow. I am sitting here racking my brain trying to think if there is any other series of words in the English language that can form a complete sentence with three proper nouns. I got nothing
  8. As I told you in the past. I’d make that deal. No handguns (with a reasonable carve out for antiques and muzzleloader) and protection for shotguns and rifles with the current federal restrictions on caliber and action in place. And let that be the end of it
  9. You guys know I’ve pointed this out before but if people were serious about ending gun ownership in America at least on the scale that it currently exists it would be very easy to do. In fact you could probably do it within three generations. Do two things: 1) Stop trying to ban it. It puts peoples backs up and makes everything in the NRA propaganda true. Every time the word gun control comes up the NRA gets 100 new members. If you want to put out that fire take away the fuel. Tell the gun control tyrants to STFU. 2) Stop glorifying firearms. They are in the video games. They’re in the movies. Walk into any Walmart and they’ll be at least 100 different toy guns on the shelf. Change the culture. That will dampen the appeal. People in rural areas are ALWAYS going to have firearms. They are a part of life. The average family in the suburbs does not have to protect livestock from predatory animals. People will still want a firearm for self defense. Mainly in the home. But the numbers will begin to diminish and the number of firearms people like that purchase will begin to go down. The third amendment of the United States Constitution prohibits the government from quartering soldiers in People’s homes. This has not happened since the revolutionary war. The third amendment solves a problem no one has. The second amendment can go the same way of the third if people begin to lose interest in firearms. That’s how you get rid of guns in the United States. or at the very least seriously reduce the numbers of people who have them.
  10. That’s not a strawman. That’s what gun control is. Nothing said in that article leads me to believe that that handgun was illegal or that it was illegally owned. Although as I pointed out in my last post it certainly will be taken away from her after this. So if your suggestion is that she should not have had a legally owned handgun and that gun control might have prevented this you are implying that gun control WOULD have taken it from her. And you would probably be right. gun control can certainly mean a lot of things. But of this I am 100% sure: the ultimate aim is prohibition and confiscation. Every “reasonable” step between here and there is just a means to an inevitable end. If that one thing we’re not so then I would be more amenable to excepting some kind of gun control.
  11. Sure. We should also do that for voting. After all don’t want those morons voting third-party do we? That’s just wasting your vote. We should definitely do it for free speech. How can we just let people say whatever they want? What if it’s something wrong? We could also have a test and issue a license for the right to be secure in your home. Maybe people should prove why the government should stay out of their houses. There probably should also be a test for whether or not someone should receive a trial by jury. After all how many times have someone come up on charges when everyone just knows they’re guilty. we should probably also have a test on whether or not someone should be exempted from cruel and unusual punishment. Some of these bastards probably deserve it. Or maybe a test about whether or not someone should be enslaved. Some folks aren’t good for much else right? yeah I’m being sarcastic here but it becomes problematic when you start having tests and putting the government in a position to deny someone a right because of an arbitrary reason. besides firearm ownership is subject to numerous restrictions. More than any other right. Incidentally this woman will not be able to own that handgun after all this is said and done. She broke numerous laws the moment she pointed to her gun at that dog and pulled the trigger. At least three of which off the top of my head are Felonise. That means no more guns for her. Not legally anyway.
  12. That woman certainly didn’t exercise any of it did she? She should’ve left the gun in the house where it belonged. What is it about that story that makes you think some 50-70 million people (rough estimate of the number of known gun owners in the US) who did nothing wrong and were not involved in this deserve to be stripped of their private property or constitutional liberty?
  13. I’m going to steal a line from the Game of Thrones TV show. “You must forgive them their flights a fancy. It’s dreary in the north“
  14. Alright Buddy. Let’s settle this s—t once and for all!
  15. Trump telling people he will be reinstated as president in August. I know someone who’s going to be very disappointed come August.
  16. Athletes will never be silent again Bah. If I cared about the opinions of someone who chased a ball I'd ask Sunny.
  17. Welcome back WD. Been awhile
  18. He’s not the hero we wanted. But he might be the one we needed.
  19. The VFW & American Legion are meeting together today. For the first time each since the covid breakout. The Memorial Service is in the morning. I think I'll skip that part since I just woke up an it starts in an hour. After that cookout and lunch at Meeman Shelby Park. Should be fun.
  20. FYI Gwynn was .415 lifetime against Maddox
