  1. That does make a hell of a lot of sense. And it does not violate the Constitution. In Article II the Constitution directs the States to determine how electors are selected. I would also insist on another change though. I'd make the assignment of electoral votes to the winning candidate mandatory to eliminate the so called "faithless electors". We need to take the human element of capricious **** out of it. And there have been a few over they years.
  2. You hit on a big point here. The US system of government does not lend itself to major changes in direction. After right years of Obama there are many changes but only taken collectively are they noticeable aside from the ACA. And it is collapsing under it's own flaws. After 4 years of Trump things will be different that they would be after four years of Clinton but not radically. Folks who don't understand large ships down't change direction on a dime might not understand that.
  3. Yes, not sure of the exact numbers because it seems they are still counting votes As of 9 AM it was less than 200k votes and trending towards 0. This was a really, really close election.
  4. The LP candidates had a disappointing night. Not one of the Federal level candidates did better than 5%, including Gary Johnson who topped out at over 3%. Sure 4M+ voted is 4x better than any LP candidate ever but it's disheartening in this election not to have done better. Two state level candidates were elected. One in Arkansas and one in Alaska.. That is also disappointing. But this is a process and it's time to start working on 2018. I was very relived the Republicans kept control of Congress when I thought Clinton was going to win. Now that Trump has won I wish the Dems had done a little better. I'm more than a little uneasy with one party control over the levers of power in DC.The bad thing is it's the Democrats who changed the Senate rules limiting the ability to filibuster. Now they are all hoisted on their own petard by that action. But so are we all. You have all heard me say it a hundred times. Obama and the Democrats were usurping all this power their institutions were not supposed to have and everyone was applauding because it was "their team". But I warned that power would someday be in the hands of someone else and they would not like the results then. Someday came pretty quick didn't it?
  5. Hey Bruce... get to it. You'd better chew it good:
  6. Some. Not nearly as much as I had in 08. My biggest investment these days is real estate. They are not making any more of that.
  7. This will cheer you all up. Screw it, can't get it to embed right https://www.facebook.com/uniladmag/videos/2443072952382416/
  8. You really think you are not also responsible ..anyone who voted for an independant is responsible in there own way, you dont get a pass I just am preparing you for whats coming so later you dont say " OMG how could Trump be doing this...how did he get elected " But I really like you and I feel very guilty but it will make me feel much better, my conscience will feel more absolved, if you acknowledge I did try to warn you about Trump, I did my best right but ultimately you made your own decisions ? Hillary Clinton did nothing, and I mean nothing to deserve my vote. I disagree with her politics, her views on the role of government, and her ideas on economic policy. The only thing she ever said that I agree with was that Trump was unfit to be president. Forget her dishonesty, her corruption, and her disrespect for her fellow citizens for a moment. That alone is enough for me to decide not to vote for her. I voted for the best and most qualified candidate of the five names on my ballot. That is all i can do. i cannot concern myself with the outcome after that. Your politics are not mine. You told me nothing about Trump I don't know. But no flaw of Trump made Hillary Clinton a better candidate. That is why we are where we are.
  9. Don't blame me Bruce, I didn't vote for him.
  10. Hey don't knock it. That worked out really well for me. I bet the world would end. It didn't but I still made a lot of money through sheer luck.
  11. I'm bedwetting but HRC got Virginia. She would have been in big trouble if she lost there.
  12. For the libertarian party in 2020 it's incredibly importantAh, is the party very active in the interim years or do they just pop up every 4 and shake a can ?https://twitter.com/GovMikeHuckabee/status/796171852645355522 Sometimes people deserve caning. We have 11 Senate candidates and 20 some odd House candidates. Some have already been defeated
  13. Where did you see that?
  14. For the libertarian party in 2020 it's incredibly important
  15. He got my vote in Shelby County TN
  16. So far the GOP is looking at a +4 in the Senate. Now I'd rather Clinton won to keep the government divided. I'm feeling a little better about this now that Congress looks safe. Still no info on how Johnson is doing.
  17. Wow, Virginia is close. Now THAT is a big surprise. Clinton was supposed to win that easy.
  18. Republicans are endangered and Democrats are asses. LOL. It's from a popular political cartoon back in the late 1800s believe it or not
  19. Tim Scott reelected in SC. If Clinton wins she will see a lot of Elephants on Capital Hill.
  20. Evan Bayh has been defeated in IN. The Republicans are in good shape to keep the Senate.
  21. But... That wouldn't be the case. If you take the entire US as one, every vote counts exactly the same...It's a lot more complex than that. But the biggest thing is the EC is built into the Constitution. It would be VERY difficult to change it. As it should be. The truth is we are stuck with it for good or ill.You sir caught my interest... How does one change the US constitution? An amendment would need 2/3 majority in Congress and then will need to be ratified by 3/4 of the states and then signed by the President. So you would need 3/4 of the States to agree to get rid of the EC. Many of which will be marginalised by doing that. That is why it won't happen.

  23. Marco Rubio was been reelected. That is big news for Republican control of the Senate
  24. Florida is tied with 84% in. The Panhandle will turn the race. That is good news for Trump.
  25. That would be very interesting. That might lead to the dreaded 269-269 scenario
