Nah, there was only like 20 or so. We could all go kick their asses. Well, ten years ago I could have. But I'll still show up if ya'll will!

And this here is just what's wrong with the Electoral College. You know what's more important than individual rights? State's rights. Because government can totally be trusted as long as it isn't federal. No it can't. But it takes a hell of a lot fewer angry citizens to so something about State government problems than Federal government problems. All this talk about the EC is entirely academic. to get rid of it we would need 3/4 of the States to agree. That means the citizens of those states literally voting for their own marginalization. Talk about a tough sell.

Wow, very quietly the Buccaneers are having a pretty good season. The are 5-5 and managed to do that only winning one home game. The Florida Gators won yesterday, the Buccaneers today and the Florida Panthers won games both Saturday & Sunday. This was a great weekend.

Yeah, but you can never skip it, which makes it a huge pain in the arse if you ever think about restarting the game. Then it suddenly becomes long and annoying to slog through. There are a couple of alternate start mods. Two of the ones I've tried were well done and you avoid the Helgen attack sequence all together. One actually randomized where you start. You literally begin the game in the middle of you character's life. I did this one twice. Once I was a miner in Dawnstar, the other I was in the Inn in that town near Solitiude. Dragonbridge. But this mod has one flaw; to trigger the main quest you have to ask an innkeeper about rumors to find out about Helgen BEFORE going to Helgen if you don't do it right away. If you wait too long and the bandits spawn in Helgen then there is no main quest, no Alduin and you'll never know why Helgen got trashed and why Balgruf keeps talking about a dragon attack no one saw. The other one, Live another Life, has you starting in true Elder Scrolls fashion... in jail. But not in Helgen. Like the other you find out about the main quest through rumors or by going to Helgen but it keeps Helgen from spawining bandits so it's ready whenever you are. There are no bugs on that one that I ever saw but there are a lot of compatibility conflicts with some of the other big mods. Nothing unusual about that though. Lots of game overhauls don't play nice together.

Well you can use the "showracemenu" console command. There is a mod that puts a barber in whiterun that runs that script for free (rather than paying to do it in Riften).

You know, the first sequence in Skyrim, the carriage ride into Helgen. That is a pretty awesome way to start that game. It hooks you in, gives you a sense of what's going on and does it with a minimal amount of exposition. From a story telling perspective... well done.

Why Political Correctness (Cultural Marxism) Must End!
Guard Dog replied to Valsuelm's topic in Way Off-Topic
It does concern me that some people think Milo and Breitbart offer real insights into the news and social events that other forms of media dont have or refuse to discuss One of the outcomes of this is actually an uninformed electorate who lack critical thinking. We saw aspects of this in the US elections where many Trump supporters simply refused to question anything Trump said and rejected anything from the numerous mainstream media sources The good news in the case of this US election is that Trump didnt mean most of his most controversial comments so people blindly believing what he said and voting for him wont lead to a potential political or economic crisis in the USA But another Western country, another leader who follows the same rhetoric you could quite possibly see someone who gets elected and really tries to deport "11 million Latinos " Bruce I think you are still not seeing the point I was trying to make earlier. Nothing that was wrong with Trump made Hillary Clinton a better option for the folks who voted for him. For the 95 million Americans out of work Trump might lead to something bad, or he might not. But Clinton definitely led nowhere. The best case was more of the same. And that means no work and no hope.- 135 replies

Just got home, greeted the pups, dropped my key and laptop on the kitchen table, dropped two ice cubes in a highball glass and poured in three fingers of Kentucky's finest. Not to sit on the porch and watch the sun set.

Did you know that guy? Well, you were S1 right? That is about the only job a NCO gets to meet a general.

Wait you mean colleges are full of limp wristed, bed wetting, liberal pansies? This is news to you guys? Actually they are not. But that has become a very vocal minority. I wouldn't worry about it. The opinions people have at 20 are different from what they will have at 30 and 40 and 50. Once they get into the real world, start paying real taxes and dealing with real family issues their perspectives will change.- 135 replies

I was just teasing you, I thought you worked for that wireless company? I was expecting you to get immediately annoyed and rectify my spurious comment But you are to comfortable and secure with who you are to get annoyed ...well played Nah, once we sold off the company I was retained on a one year contract as a consultant since I was the classic triple thread (design engineer, project manager, and coffee getter). They extended me six months but once all the projects I was involved in closed I was politely shown the door. From my own company can you believe that? But no complaints really. That all worked out really well for me. I work for the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation now.

It's a joke son... you missed it! The US one was funny too but it won't let me link that extension type

I'm Stellaris-ed out. A can't beat the damned Unbidden. I hit them with two 30k fleets and was having my way with them when a 56k jumped in on top of me along with the two 26k stacks I was already fighting. It went bad after that. At least after the last patch the AI factions will fight them but they are just overwhelming. There are three fallen empires but they are too far away to do any good. To hell with it. I'll wait for Tyranny to release a patch or two or maybe a DLC before diving in. In the meantime I might give Skyrim another go. I never did finish it.

Well I will admit the job I have now is a lot less stressful than working for AT&T or Crown Castle. And a HELL of a lot less stressful than working for a company I owned (partially). But it pays a lot less. A LOT less. I've been smart with money but i can still feel the pinch.

It's an odd thing. The people who find themselves working in the engineering disciplines are a pretty hard drinking lot. I've gone out with coworkers and colleagues for a drink many times and that "drink" was always a spirit of some kind. So I thought nothing of it when our new director invited to whole team out for a drink with him this afternoon as a get-to-know you thing. So we go to Applebees, I'm at the end of the table so I'm the first one the waitress asks and I order a Lynchburg Lemonade (Jack Daniels, Triple Sec, lemon juice, and sweet & sour) and everybody looks at me funny. Then everyone else proceeded to order non alcoholic drinks. Well, needless to say I suddenly felt like the guy who shows up at a wedding thinking it was a toga party. What the hell? It's five o'clock in the afternoon. We're not going back to work after that. So... I did what any self respecting drunk would do. Drained that glass and ordered another. After the second one I didn't feel so awkward.

At first there will be ample hay to mow but eventually "fake" news will end being any story the facebook admins don't like or runs counter to their politics. Whether the story is factual or not will not matter by then

In Canada? That is a shock but we have to be specific, what type of racism....white supremacy, islamophobia, racist to black people etc. People who think curling isn't a real sport!

Bruce you may not realize it but Volo is a very smart guy. He is a just big fan of the Reductio ad absurdum argument: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reductio_ad_absurdum

Well in all fairness he didn't actually make that legal. But his administration definitely did suggest it was or should be until they were called out for it.
