  1. Dog fights are terrible. I can't believe there are sickos out there who get some perverse pleasure in watching that.
  2. Ahead of the gun rights demonstration in VA next week Trump has been taking to Twitter: https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/478885-trump-warns-of-attack-on-2nd-amendment-ahead-of-virginia-gun-rights The short strokes of the story are Trump is fueling the fire by saying the 2nd Amendment is under attack and VA Democrats want to take citizens firearms away. Well... all that IS true... It is and they do. But if I were the President that is not the way I would have gone. The message would have sent is "The 1st Amendment affirms the right of the people to peaceably assemble. So the government and police of VA had better make sure they can assemble and the people had better make sure it is peaceable." But that's me.
  3. Rome Imperator. I am so trying to like this game but I just don't. I'm really waiting for Crusader Kings 3 or the next Stellaris DLC, which is a month late I might add.
  4. Today I fed the critters, watched TV, and bought a new pair of binoculars off Amazon. Waterproof this time. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice...

  6. My girls are both elderly so that isn't too much of a concern. But almost the first thing I did when I bought the land here was build a fence along the entire perimeter. And the fence extends 6" into the soil. Tommy used to like to explore and I share a border with Anderson Tully WMA. It's big. A dog could get himself lost in there.
  7. Binge re-watching Cheers on NetFlix. That show was brilliant.
  8. Deaf man sues porn site over no closed captioning. https://www.tmz.com/2020/01/16/pornhub-sued-class-action-deaf-demand-closed-captioning/ Don't want to miss out on any of that scintillating dialogue.
  9. Well I wasn't really demoted because I was never promoted. I started out here as a political hire. I was the only veteran to apply and was hired for a job I wasn't really qualified for because hiring veterans is a priority. So I started out as a glorified number cruncher auditing public works projects for cost overruns and materials compliance. After two years of demonstrating that I could see lightning and hear thunder, and possessed an advanced understanding of mathematics and data analytics I started to find myself with much more interesting work. Last year I was managing my own projects. So, now we have a new director who took one look at my resume and education and decided (presumably) that a knuckle dragger such as myself has no business managing projects for the TDEC so I'm back to being a glorified number cruncher. I was a little put off by the whole thing. In fact I was quite upset about it. Then I remembered it's just a paycheck.
  10. It's been a over a week since my.... dunno if I'd call it a demotion. I'm making the same money I always was. But I've definitely been relived of all my responsibilities and projects. I think it's fair to say I did quite a bit of good while I could. But, a new department head, a quick reorganization and all of that never happened. The upshot is I don't have to work long hours. In fact I can pretty much get all my work done by lunchtime every day. The downside is I was interested, motivated, and engaged. Now? Not so much. But... who knows what will happen next.
  11. Oh no argument there. That's why I said sometimes his supporters are his worst enemies. Bernie has never suggested violence of any sort. Quite the opposite. And although he has certainly been a supporter of and apologist for the worst misdeeds of communists everywhere he has also been adamant that our Constitution protects us from such should we ever decide to take socialism for a test drive. And he is not responsible for the rantings of a crackpot in Iowa except..... that crackpot is employed by his campaign. And, despite all that has happened (Jurek has been arrested since for DUI & Possession) he still is as of this morning at least. Kind of a misstep if you ask me. If you fire him the whole thing goes away. Keeping him makes him campaign ad fodder. And an effective one too. You know the old saying about riding the tiger. Trump has certainly been willing. Maybe Bernie is too.
  12. You have to remember Gromnir was Gromnir before Gromnir was Gromnir. The man predates the game character.
  13. The Base. Isn't that what Al Qaeda's name translates to?
  14. 40% of the world's nations to see unrest this year: https://www.cnbc.com/2020/01/16/40percent-of-countries-will-witness-civil-unrest-in-2020-report-claims.html I can see it. Bernie supporters are promising to burn Milwaukee if he does not get nominated.
  15. Wouldn't want to be in HIS gulag then!
  16. The thing people must realize is electing a candidate is like getting married. No you have to deal with your spouse's family. With a candidate you not only get them you get their supporters too since campaign staff often find themselves in administration jobs. It would be a little concerning to see a newspaper clip that Kyle Jurek accepted a job in the Sanders Justice Dept. That could easily happen if he actually wins.
  17. When the police become the army the people become the enemy. If I were in charge I'd give every law enforcement agency in this country a simple choice. Either you give up your firearms while on duty or you give up your qualified immunity. You cannot keep both.
  18. LOL, Bernie's biggest enemies are his supporters: https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2020/01/14/sanders_campaign_organizer_free_education_gulags_needed_to_re-educate_you_not_to_be_a_fcking_nazi.html
