  1. People generally get along just fine. It's governments who pick fights and tell them who they are supposed to hate
  2. Bruce do not waste your time. He won't respond. And yes, that guy is a flat out racist.
  3. This would have been one of the greatest rock shows of all time!
  4. @Katphood I am not envious of your situation. Stay safe. I wouldn't worry about an outright war. It's not going to happen. But that does not preclude other bad times.
  5. Video of Epstein suicide attempt destroyed: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/surveillance-video-jeffrey-epstein-s-first-apparent-suicide-attempt-no-n1113166 There is just no f-----g WAY that man committed suicide.
  6. I must say I am finding the whole Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Brexit to be very entertaining. Usually I don't pay the British royal family any mind. Sure they do some good stuff but in the end they are sort of like national pets for Great Britain. Heck I think the Queen's corgis have more agency over their lives than she does. Now Harry and Meghan want out and everyone is shocked. Can't imagine why. I mean everyone has been so nice to her there right? The nicest things they said about her was that she had "exotic DNA". Less nice was she was "Straight out of Compton". And of course who can forget comparing he baby to a chimpanzee. Her treatment by the other royals hasn't been much better apparently. Yep... can't imagine why anyone would want to get away from all that.
  7. According to NFL Network Radio on SiriusXM the Detroit Lions are shopping the 3rd overall pick.
  8. Reports are Winston want's $30M per season from a new contract : https://dailycaller.com/2020/01/09/jameis-winston-salary-demand-30-million/ $1M per interception!
  9. Never mind
  10. Not much has been said about the upcoming NFLPA contract. What are the players even asking for? The MLBPA one is next year. There has been a lot of ink about that. But two of their big wants are things that just make a hell of a lot of sense to me. They want to eliminate draft pick compensation for 1st time free agents. And they want an offseason trade deadline. They also want to include foreign born players in the MLB draft but that will be a much harder sell.
  11. You know I keep forgetting that about the NFL. I follow baseball much more than football and in the MLB a 4 year deal means a 4 year deal. The player might be traded but someone is paying them for all four years. Even if they are released. The Marlins just released Wei Yin Chen after three abysmal seasons. But, he had a five year deal so he is getting his last two years.
  12. Cold Creek is a navigable waterway so right there it is public property. Me doing anything to it is just a non starter. Plus even if I could the kind of earth moving I described would be extrememly difficult. Probably beyond the reach of one determined man with a Bobcat and backhoe. There is a small creek on my property. It's pretty brisk in the spring and summer but almost dries out during the fall and early winter. From a state law standpoint there is a little more I can do with that but as Gromnir pointed out I cannot (and would not) impede the flow. But I did use a shovel and hollow out a bowl depression to make a little pool about eight years ago It's 2-3 feet deep depending on rainfall. Tommy used to sit in it with just his head and neck out if the water. It's usually teeming with minnows and sometimes I'll catch a few and use them as fishing bait.
  13. Actually my dream is to take advantage of a source of steady and predictable kinetic power not far away: Cold Creek. If I could put a turbine in there and use the current to turn it we'd be getting somewhere. There are some practical hurdles though. The biggest being I don't and can't actually "own" a piece of a river It is by definition public property. Which means I can dredge or elevate the bed to create the current speed or kinetic force I need. I actually have been mulling this for a few years now. The way I figure it I'd need to narrow the banks to about 2-3 meters across for about 40-50 meters. Then I'd need to beginning of that gap to be approx. 1M deep and the end to be 6-7M deep. With the turbine at 1M depth 2/3 of the way through the gap it should produce 1kW of AC power. Like I said, it would be nice and if the government ever collapses I am totally doing it. But not today.
  14. In all seriousness if you want energy independence in homes two steps should be taken where applicable. Eliminate the stupid building code that prohibits using DC power exclusively in residential structures. For those who don't know solar panels create DC power that is used to charge a battery string. I have four strings of batteries, 12V each in parallel. Their output goes to an inverter. It's output is connected in parallel to the connection to the public utility. So my house draws off both sources equally. It also means when I'm not using any power at all I'm actually PROVIDING power to the Co Op. It's a (I'll be kind) imperfect system. The every fact that I must convert the power I produce to AC via the inverter means I lose a good deal of it. Between 30-37% by my best calculation. When the house was built I'd have liked to have a separate and switchable DC power system. But... building codes in this state (and most others) do not allow that for multiple (and not good) reasons. Eliminate the requirement for hazmat license to keep dry cell batteries for residential use. There is not good reason for that either.
  15. Of course! It takes a lot of juice to turn that big fan!
  16. But... but... the poor little birdies!
  17. Apparently we have achieved "complete energy independence" recently. Well, ain't that nice? But, my electric bill was $33.06 last month so I'm pretty close myself.
  18. If I was Jason Licht I'd let JW walk, use the Franchise Tag on Kwon Alexander then see if one of the free agent QB's will take a two year deal. Rivers might. Then draft a QB in the 2nd Rounf. Someone like Fromm from UGA. might work
  19. He will have to step it up a bit. Farve threw 336. JW has 88 so far so he needs 248 more. He's averaging 17.6 per season so he will need 14 more seasons.
  20. Having JW as your quarterback is like finding out your cancer is cured... then dying in a car accident on your way home from the doctor. It's like outrunning the grizzly bear then falling off a cliff. It's like finding a chest full of gold coins... then finding out they are fake. Hey my QB threw for 300 yds & 2 TD's today. Too bad about that fumble and two picks, all of which went for TDs and we lost 21-14. Arias was right. When he's good he's VERY good. But when he's bad it's game killing terrible. And he is both in EVERY game. Having a star QB certainly helps but you can win just fine with a dependable game manager who won't make the big mistake. The Buc's superbowl team in '03 had Brad Johnson. He was the epitome of competent game manager QB. We don't NEED a Tom Brady. Speaking of which I do hope he has the sense to retire if the Pats don't want him. The saddest things I've ever seen in sports is star athletes who hung on too long. Michael Jordan missing a dunk by a good six inches wearing a Wizards uniform. Gordie Howe, his hair full gray, getting outskated by referees while playing for the Whalers. His team faced 5-4 mismatches every shift he played because he just couldn't get to the zone as fast. Johnny Unitas, a shell of his former self with the Chargers. Dan Marino on two bad knees getting blown out by the Jaguars. Don't become a parody of who you once were Tom. Walk out with your head held high.
  21. Wow, has it really been that long? I remember when you bought it!
  22. Tua is going to the draft. He'd look good in a Buc's uniform. It'll never happen though. No way he's still on the board. They are going to have to slap the franchise tag on Winston. Ugh. Another year of Spray and Pray
