Dark Side Test
The Great Phantom replied to The Great Phantom's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well... perhaps I'll have to put aside my dreams of a traveling troupe of Jedi Ballerinas for a while... Instead, it's Sith Flamenco time! -
Star Forge vs. Death Star
The Great Phantom replied to Dyan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
And, of course, you still have to worry about the Star Forge devouring/twisting it's 'Captain'. So, whoever was in control of it would be in danger of dying or having all their purposes twisted, or, perhaps, the Death of the Force (like w/ the Rakata where they all lost contact to the Force). -

My minion puppets, slay the imposter, Master Jabba! That worm's too fat to run! *Starts dancing to 'Walk like an Egyptian' while mindless gizka take off charging after the lightning-wielding Jabba* So, anybody tried to see if they could get every single calling in a row? Acolytes rule! -

Star Forge vs. Death Star
The Great Phantom replied to Dyan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well... the Death Star can move around the Galaxy and still function... The Star Forge requires a strong will and a healthy sun to function correctly... I think we can see who will hunt down the most Rebel Infidels first... Although, with the fleet produced by the Forge, you could fill all the empty space in the Galaxy with ships, so that the infidels couldn't move without bumping into some uber-ship or another... Hmmm... I'm stumped... -
Dark Side Test
The Great Phantom replied to The Great Phantom's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Let's see... we're missing a Marauder in our little merry band of death-dealers... And, here's my calling: Sith Acolyte Ah, you are truly perceptive, my child. You are worthy enough to study the mysteries of the dark side as a Sith acolyte -- the most fearsome wielders of the Force since the galaxy was formed. With my instruction, you will locate lost artifacts and learn to use them, becoming more powerful than you ever dreamed. You could have the galaxy at your feet. Even the Jedi will dance like puppets for you. Dance, fools, dance! -
This test is not for the 'noble', and 'compassionate'. Take this test to find your place in the Golden Age of the Sith! http://www.wizards.com/starwars/darkside/quiz1.asp Kinda fun, I suppose.

Most visually impressive world?
The Great Phantom replied to Sikon's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well, guess what: 4 thousand years after Kotor, the Empire comes to Manaan to find a race of fish people living on scattered islands and in deep-sea caves. Apparently, after Kolto went bye-bye (either in Kotor I, or perhaps later, when Bacta became more easily and cheaply produced), the Selkath dove back under water. 4 thousand years is a lot of time, so crap could have built up to form islands. When the Empire comes in, they force the Selkath onto little huts on stilts, enslaving them. But, the Selkath fight back: The Order of Shasa, whose founder was trained either by the Sith or by the Jedi, and who also care deeply about the welfare of the Selkath (and little else, I suppose) starts fighting back. I got all this stuff from some Wizards thingy... It made me all tingly. -
Most visually impressive world?
The Great Phantom replied to Sikon's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Quick question: How did that droid patrolling outside of Dreshdae survive when all else died, including any other robot? Maybe it's Trask Ulgo come to make sure the Exile is following Revan or something... or, maybe he's spying on the Exile for Nihilus... That would explain his very different appearance, no? -

which teachings lead to true strength?
The Great Phantom replied to Darth_Onivega's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Really quick: There is no "Grey Jedi Order"!!!!!! "Grey Jedi" are Jedi like Qui-Gon or Jolee (Sp? ). They use the Force, and may have, at one point, been Jedi or Sith. Even Bindo used the Light Side. Confront him as the Dark Lord Reborn, and combat will define his true character: He's a Jedi, and he'll never bow down to the Sith, so says he. They still serve a 'side'. "Apathy is death." Even the Grey Jedi robes say how 'Grey Jedi' opperate independently of the Jedi Council, which, by no means, signifies that they are both 'good' and 'evil'. After all, even Yoda, one of the most Light Side Jedi Masters I can think of, can use Force Lightning, should he choose to. It's not what powers you have, but how you use them, that determines your alignment. And, if you want to make the argument that "Grey Jedi" are neutral, then why did the Jedi Council, in almost every instance, choose NOT TO FIGHT, instead of fighting against 'evil' (Mandalorian Wars, etc.). Grey Jedi often choose to fight instead of thinking, which is why they are often considered not to be 'true Jedi', and why they many times use the Dark Side. The Jedi make mistakes. They try to be perfect, which is their greatest failing. The Sith's greatest failing is that they ditch all attempt at becomming "perfect", and give into their own ideals or delusions. If the Jedi would get over themselves, then maybe they'll survive for more than three movies/two books/one game. Like Jolee said, they should teach control over emotion/passion, not to deny it altogether. This separates them from the people they are supposed to protect, and the life that their "Force" is supposed to embody. The Sith: Well, the Sith are pretty good at doing what they want to do, so I suppose their teachings serve them fine as far as falling to the Dark Side, having your morals twisted into an incomprehensible lump, and killing mercilessly. -
which teachings lead to true strength?
The Great Phantom replied to Darth_Onivega's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The Jedi at what point? So far, we've seen 3 viewpoints of their philosophy: Pre-Exar Kun: Get married, have kids. Problems: If your 'life partner' dies, you risk the Dark Side, along with the whole slew of "Get away from my baby!" issues being a parent brings up serving as a threat too. Post-Exar Kun (Revan til Anakin): Don't marry: it's dangerous. Protect yourself from the Dark Side at all costs; we don't need another Kun (or Qel-Droma). Post-Empire (Luke): Don't fear emotion, just control it (like pre-Exar). Outta time, forget this all if you want. I'll try to talk mas luego. -

Part of Second Chapter
The Great Phantom replied to DarkAngle's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Didn't read the first 'installment', but this one looks fairly decent (I'm not going to say it was great, because if it was it would have been made into Kotor III by now ). It gave me some ideas for my mindless wonderings (punny, anybody? ), and I do like Bastila as a character... I've never really thought of any Jedi as 'vivacious,' though. -
Okay, I'll try slipping back into my age-old role of devil's advocate for a minute. Jedi Masters often bond with their apprentices, and if one of them dies, it leaves a hole in the other's 'heart' (sort of the metaphysical equivalent to the psychological parallel). Now, the Exile bonded with almost anybody he/she met, so when most of the people he/she knew all died at Malachor V he/she developed a thousand or more 'holes' in themselves. Humans, by nature, reject things that cause them pain. Since the Force was what had caused them so much pain, the Exile ripped themselves away from it. However, running from your pain almost never heals it, so the Exile kept his/her 'holes,' but now had the greater 'hole' of having removed themselves from the Force. When the Exile met Kreia, he/she likely bonded with her, like they had with almost everyone else before her. This may have given them another connection to 'life', and the Force, so the Exile began to feel the Force again. The Exile can still choose his/her alignment, since they only feed on the Force. Nihilus feeds on the connection between the Force and life (like how ATP gives energy when a phosphate group is broken from the Adnesine Tri-Phosphate, releasing a lot of stored up energy, but also making ATP into ADP, which is practically worthless for energy as far as I can tell), which makes him really dangerous. We'll not get into what Nihilus might be, or might not be, since what I said is said by Visas Marr, without the neato chemo-biology lesson as well. Well, this is just my 2 cents, since OE has left the series in the proverbial gutter, most likely hoping some nice new family will come along and adopt it, raising it to be 'complete'. Either that, or hoping that it will die and everybody will forever forget the half-finished (or half-failed, depending on how you wanna look at it... ) KotOR 'series'.

Mayhaps if we knew the OE concept of Revan, then we would not be Kath Hounds chowing down on whatever piece of Mission the proverbial Internet Hanharr threw us... Sorry, but bad puns are fun. -
the whole story
The Great Phantom replied to Knights&Darths's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I got it all after 2 playthroughs, but I'm not exactly the average joe-schmoe that doesn't realize that what Atton says about Revan is your chance to choose who Revan was (aka, alignment/gender). -

The 'Super Sith?' Like the Sith version of the Chosen one? Dear google! (I hope I didn't break any copywright laws with that...) I hope not! I'll not go back to the whole discussion on 'is Vader the Sith'ari?' Instead, I'll walk away, and get back on topic... Or was I already on topic? Hmmm... -
Origin/meaning of KOTOR names?

And Revenant probably finds its origins in latin, so... (Revenant and Revenire are what I was referring to, yes.) -
Origin/meaning of KOTOR names?
The Great Phantom replied to Sikon's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Revan could also be from revenence (sp?; something like that word that I forget how to spell), meaning something like 'to return' or somesuch... This is an ancient topic, but the original is virtually mummified by now, so I'll let you dig up some of the old name ideas yourselves... -
"the end of all things"
The Great Phantom replied to indarkestday's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'm not sure what you mean... It couldn't be Revan's or Malak's (or Exar's or Ulic's) relatives, since they don't have any remaining alive by the time of Kotor (or that they have ever met)... I'm up for a new sith lord, or just an army of evil bad-dudes that are evenly powerful and dangerous. But, I really don't care, so long as the story gets some closure. -
"the end of all things"
The Great Phantom replied to indarkestday's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Don't know. I used to have a post detailing how an army of Sith blooded people led by an army of Nihili would not only be possible, but really kinda cool. However, if we say something, then the Devs can't use it legally, so I'll keep my mouth shut about what I think would be totally awesome. -
"the end of all things"
The Great Phantom replied to indarkestday's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Hmmm... hmmm... hmmm... Well, we have no shortage of floating heads, scepter-wielding shoguns, or purple-glowy ghosts already... How about Malachor, the great Sith Lord who discovered Malachor V on the very edge of Sith Space, discovering the dark secret that Marka Ragnos would learn of and attempt to save the Sith from... (Just a fanfic I almost wrote once, kinda cool if you really think hard on it). Really, I don't want any old Sith Lords. Maybe Sadow fled back to the Sith Empire after Nadd left him, knowing that such a great time had passed and that his disgrace was now all but forgotten... He could have set up a restructured order, instructing them to wait for a beacon to sound, showing them where their greatest threat would emerge from. But, that sounds a lot like Jedi Academy, so I'll pass, thanks... -
ajunta pall's dark secret
The Great Phantom replied to darknesslord's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yes... little knife-wielding simians could easily overwhelm the unprepared Republic... the Sith are just a bit lower on the evolutionary chain, and the Republic thinks they have bad teeth, so they get all the attention while the Gizka Queen plots to kill all the great leaders of the era, sending the galaxy into turmoil, leaving the galaxy in the hands of: the EWOKS, who go unappreciated for their efforts to save the galaxy from the Galactic Civil War, and are exiled to one of the moons of some back-water world called Endor... At last, the secret of Star Wars, unwraveled before our eyes!
