  1. Chanter is strong - they said Let me tell you a Story about a poor little Chanter, he may not be the most perceptive one - maybe thats why he he runs around nude - he doesnt have the biggest resolve and cant abstain - in short, he is a Pervert. Said Pervert just wanted a little fun... a Maid told him to go to the 2nd level of Cliaban Rilag - she would wait for him there... so, with great haste he made his way - only to be blocked by a troll - no problem he thought, what do i have my 2 fists for? Together with my trusted phantom... - cliaban Rilag 1, Pervert 0 - with my trusted phantom... 2:0 - PHANTOM 3:0, okay... only phantom - one disengage because too little space too many later - 4:0... okay - maybe... GO my not so trusted wurms! - 18 Wurms later 4:1 - and Pervert starts on his way to the Maid again. Some slimes to turn the mood in the right direction later - even some corrupted Druids where no problem - until the fatefull encounter, they would meet many times - but the Pervert didnt like that sorta game with Bees and the Blights were no good partners for a threesome either - but everytime he wanted to change the rules? His partner simply left him! What outrage - what cunning! Until the one lucky time where the Bees decided to play with Mr Phantom - leaving Pervert room to smoke once - and finish the work right after - the Blight was just good enough after that - 16:2 Foreplay over - the Maid shall wait no more - his lack of perception is rather... stunning i'd say... didnt he learn that the worst is still to come? After the Party - heres Mr Stalker - he really likes to run straight to you: (For those that dont know: the Sporeling is in the room where the exit is - i killed it next to the entrance) Pervert that he is - he isnt against watching others play around - so he called his friend - Mr Phantom - since he isnt into Mr Stalker - he doesnt want to lie down for others! The other time it worked just fine - a little workout with his fists and the Sporeling was fully finished - but not this time - this time Mr Sporeling has evolved - now he is Mr Stalker and he had his eyes on the Prize; fully ignoring Mr Phantom he walked right towards the Pervert - the Pervert could run - he could have used his full speed, not his lazy walk while singing a Song - a Song that shatters your eardrums - but would Mr Sporeling play with Mr Phantom then? Who knows - the lack of Perception may have had to do with his decision - so the Pervert ran - calling up on the mighty help of Mr Wurms - they were many and they were big - surely Mr Stalker wouldnt ignore them too? Surely - with no way left the Pervert could wait a bit and watch them play - yes, but only a moment - a short moment after Mr Wurms blocked the way - Mr Stalker had exhausted the first Wurm! Oh no - back to running - the Pervert really didnt like that game at all - and he looked - there were many many Stalkers left... but it is one hell of a Maid! She is 70 with a wrinkled face and oh she is round! What a delight it will be! So some may say the Pervert has a big resolve - and i may accept it - but his resolve... is his lack of resistance, show him another Maid and he will stray from the path he decided on! So the Pervert vouches: We are many! If one falls another shall take his place - you cant stop us - the Maid will get her due - THE PERVERT WILL GET THE OLD MAID!!!!!!!!!! (Jeah - he may have misunderstood the rules of the game... but as i said - lack of perception is really hard to overcome!)
  2. i havent played wm2 yet - so i dont know^^ wm1 will be hard enough - all the damn CC -.- monk would have so much more ways to deal with them (and enough movementspeed to splitpull them) damn, will start a monk run later - when i am done trying to kill the menpwgra - WTF - what the... i killed almost the whole group one after the other - now only one pwgra and the menpwgra are left - WOW 10 tries later... still both left... okay, i need better RNG -.-
  3. respeccing isnt allowed (sadly - else i would do it once i am lvl 9) concerning TCS: since its additional i for one dont mind that at all - i'd love to know how you do (and please no alt+f4 ): chaed nua (my way isnt TCS material - not for a first try at least, maybe if you time it right you can get to 90%+), the man who waits (same) and the bear cave (i RNGd that one with a few tries - overleveled of course - if you do it after lvl 9 - ok, thats a way^^) Build to last is another quest i'd love an answer to - i havent tried it yet because i just dont see a way to win that fight X_x (i'd love to do the +2DR quest, however it just doesnt look doable... overleveling looks like it could be possible, but i'd have to be at least lvl 9 - dont know if i can do bounties, without them it doesnt look like i can get to lvl 9 before the choice) on a sidenote - i tested if the cipher could be a fun novice suffering class (very high base damage weapon gets quite nice damage amplification with multipliers) however... it suxx - the +20% (+40%) gets applied BEFORE novice suffering - making for a ridiculous +1 (+2) damage (had hoped for scaling up to +8 damage)... with that the cipher looks like a class that would struggle a LOT in naked play - no good methods against hard encounters (charm enemies - only to have no good way to keep the fight going...) and should be bad for clearspeed - i would have tested a bit if you would get good melee damage... but its not enough... maybe high level you have some tools, but other classes can do better - the trademark "high weapon damage" is gone... (hey - see me lacking patience? I dont wanna kill the troll in cliabaln rilag since it takes me forever - so i try cipher^^)
  4. try chanter after - see how weak he is before lvl 9 but heritage hill is almost done - no more fights in the tower :D Should be smooth sailing to act 3 after (3rd main quest is only heavy kiting... its not hard at all X_x)
  5. i have no patience... thats why it takes me 10 times as long to do such things - i am still fighting the group in the tower while writing here - i just have to... puase sometimes and... do something else...
  6. i dont have to kill them on the way up - on the way down (2nd floor is too easy - run a few circles, get some summons out - until you get a low amount of enemies (revenants) at the stairs, kill them - go up - profit) i get the endless fight status - i can run back to the door out - they dont chase but the fight doesnt stop... so now i can simply summon wurms until they are dead - will take quite some time (wurms get one attack out each before they die - thats about 3 damage each time i summon them? WOW.) and i wanna be a druid - but thats too easy, wanna know what i can do with chanter...^^ (not that the run with a druid is too easy, but changing midway)
  7. i wanna be a druid too just cleared the pack in front of the tower - the first group in the tower? doesnt look doable - maybe i can deal with the 2nd one alone...
  8. chanter can kill stuff while running in circles - it just takes much too long - gimme dragon chant and i clear heritage hill in mins instead of hours -.- So jeah - i think the killing speed i have will change greatly, could even get higher than yours (however my low accuracy will hinder me a bit... but without it i would get into trouble with aggro, chanter has no tools for a straight up fight)
  9. okay... i am in heritage hill now, i skipped the first encounter (too much range) and... i just regret the character... it takes so long to kill one enemy... if i need >60 mins for the group in front of the tower - i will leave heritage hill and try to get exp somewhere else...
  10. thats what i would have thought for the druid - he is so strong in spiritshift now (i tried it when spiritshift had no real scaling and i think the talents bugged too... even then it felt easier then my chanter runs - until the fights i couldnt handle^^ chanter could do them...) i cant do some quests - stopped for a while, going to heritage hill when i play again in 1-3h, thats the part i fear, if i can manage it... i should have no more problems with vanilla (i think thaos should work out with summons) and wm1... could be possible, the stun/paralise... will see^^
  11. we choose classes that have some ways of dealing with stuff - with our knowledge we can get a bit more - with persistence we get even more :D
  12. i didnt go back to the fight immediatly - i went to a different area first, thought it was easier to do with that level, after the first enemy down i decided to do other quests first - so no, i would have lost a few hours (if i even had a safe)... i used one shot with the ranged weapon to start the fight and switched to melee after...
  13. i will use a ranged weapon once - sorry guys i didnt know about: if you encounter the thugs in the supply and demand questline... and go and rest, the enemies arent enemies anymore, however, for the quest you HAVE to kill them (at least the one with the key) if i attack them in melee they instantly make me prone - surround and kill me before i get up again... its too much exp to not get it done... i could have done it without resting, but i didnt know about it... now i have no good safe file where i could do it in one fight... so lvl 6 now... one more level and i will challenge heritage hill for the first try.
  14. I have no problem if the difficulty is okay - if its too hard (dyrford crossing was ridiculous - sure, you could kite the enemies, but the quality of enemies was too high for that time of the game - it was simply not worth clearing more than necessary) its still okay - if its too easy its just not necessary at all - many fights were just many many many many enemies running at you and doing nothing - my chanter killed them on his own while doing nothing active - my tanks just lost a little bit hp - wow really, every 5 steps such a fight? I'd rather play diablo 3 - THESE FIGHTS ARE NOT NEEDED IN PILLARS - GO HOME. (PS, if so you dont misunderstand: the go home is for the enemies in pillars)
  15. as i saw it - just beat the wm1, wm2 and vanilla - so no completionist You want to TCS it? Than i sure hope your alt+f4 is ready - recording would be nice, streaming even better^^ I am dying all the time here X_x would sure love to see someone do it better - with a recording i could copy it :D
  16. normally? jeah it is. however i think i will miss many quests i normally do for that... i will see jeah - start a chanter and do it too - i am not confident i will can do it, maybe someone else will find better ways of doing it.
  17. I fear the first floor more than i fear the 2nd one - with enough tries i think i can just kite them like i did the phantoms - but i never tried so will see... but the first floor and the initial fight in heritage hill... thats what i fear most - i could try to outlevel it - with level 9 it would become much much easier - however... white marches before level 10? doesnt look possible... most fighting quests - with little room - same. I dont see me getting much exp for free - not enough for level 9... Maybe the xaurip bounty... maybe the dweller... but killing them with phantoms? Would take some hours, i see the end coming - now its time to start it up, see what i can do :D I dont see me getting to lvl 9 - sadly, too many quests i wont be able to do... if i can somehow manage heritage hill... that would open act 3, maybe it would be possible then... or if i could clear Darzir - but the ranged ogres will rip me apart, i dont see me kiting the melees and killing the ranged ones with phantoms - its no forced fight.
  18. no - and i think you can manage caed nua main hall - its all about the cheese... i dont think it will be easy, but maybe you can tank one shadow and kill the others - maybe you get a lucky break with the aggro - the druid has spiritshift, if you manage my strategy you can get to a place where you could kill one shadow and tank the other one (spiritshift has some DR, could work) - all phantoms will stand nicely behind the shadow - i managed that once (it wasnt as win condition for my chanter, so i didnt try to reproduce it -however since i managed it once, it is possible to get the result again...) maybe you can kite them and cast while kiting... dont know, druid isnt my job - chanter is :D. i am quite interested if i can manage the ranged enemies in heritage hills... that should be my biggest problem in the near future... most fights are a real pain tho... find the sweet spot where i can easily kite them... very annoying thank god i have high dex... and jeah, with potions/scrolls and stuff it wouldn't be hard/fun enough enough for me now- its almost midnight here... so i will play more tomorrow.
  19. i really miss my resolve - i really miss my perception - but max int and might is needed (i dont know where the point is - but my tests said that somewhere around 17-19 (dont know anymore) there is a breakpoint where every tick will do 3 damage instead of 2... since i plan on trying to kill stuff with it... i need it... while kiting every little bit of range is needed... con is the lowest i am comfortable with... dex is the one point thats questionable - maybe 10 dex would be better, however atm the dex helps - a lot... i can use the summon as a reaction to "enemy stops following me, in a short moment the fight will reset"... thats huge. your stats look good - however i dont see the caed nua way - maybe with my way getting to the room next to the statue - there you can manage that you tank the shadows - kill one, tank the other and kill the phantoms with spells... its not the easiest way... but the only one i can think of without knowing druid more...
  20. jeah - come come soft wind did the job - it targets fort and shadows/phantoms dont have high fort :D the clearspeed this chanter has is higher than my normal chanter - 19 dex no armor... is so good... but i think i will get into trouble in a bit lvl 5 with brackenbury main quest done :D
  21. okay... my character is inside caed nua and trying to get past the phantoms - okay, rather not the phantoms but the shadows! Right! The shadows are my problem - not the phantoms... I can get past the hurdle and into the wide open space - where i can run in circles and kill them that way... just... shadows tp to me and cause interrupts - phantoms get the stun off -.- in 30 tries i managed one fight where both shadows died - only i was unlucky and got stunned the moment they did... will try again later edit: soooo after some tries i got it right - the phantoms/shadows are easy, so easy that this would be a possible strategy for my ironman runs... maybe it i tried to do it again and make screens where it works and were it doesnt i could manage it... it is: you walk to the door on the right side, on the way you start the combat - there you wait a moment - thats the critical point, how long do you have to wait? If you know it exactly everything else is quiet easy - after that you walk left until the end of the rubble (or whatever its called) and start walking up left - until you get to the barrier and run past the enemies, on the way you get 0-2 shadows to TP to you - as long as you arent unlucky thats everything you will get and you can start your big big circle - every circle you wait a moment in the upper right corner - just long enough to squeeze through the enemies, if you do it that way no enemy will be too slow to follow (what can happen - if you are too fast the slowest enemies can get you) Took me more time to get the timing for the first part right than the 2nd part - the 2nd part is easy, the first is quite tricky, i tried it after starting this post - around 50% of the time i manage it - the 2nd shadow can get a nasty TP in your way - would have to figure out where to stand when it TPs - so i could get it right all the time... now to the spiders - spiders took me 3 mins - the no perception is no problem up to now, my novice suffering makes short work out of spiders - together with one phantom per pack and i have to tank about 2-3 hits per pack, with moon godlike no problem...
  22. i cant really live with it... but... i have to tank some hits so low con is no go i have to... i have to... sure, a mix would be possible, but getting to summons is main part, more hits arent THAT needed...
