  1. Sweden is socialist territory in case you hadn't noticed. Management suggests what works needs to be done to the workers representative committee, then discuss whether or not they want to do it. If they agree, they'll take it to the general assembly meeting where all workers get to vote for or against More or less that. What's most interesting is that all the decisions are divided up between different business area managers, projects managers, discipline representatives and other managers. Of course their respective roles overlap each other and the only way to slightly know what to do is to participate in meetings. It often happens that they overstep each other or simply shuffle responsibility to someone else that doesn't even have the authority to do it. Still somehow, they actually deliver their results in a timely manner and deadlines are rarely broken. These experiences come from me working as a consultant for their system solutions. The company in question is a major one in europe with employees numbering in the six figures. Even if its global HQ is outside Sweden and the top management being non-swedish, the heavy influence of swedish working culture is a funny thing to see.
  2. Considering that i have to travel to Sweden a lot due to work, I noticed that you guys are good at marketing yourselves. But your corporate meetings are something not out of this world, it's less about decision and more about discussion.
  3. What's with the multiplayer-yahoos? What made Halo 1 great back in 2001 was the combination of gameplay, atmosphere, soundtrack and graphics into one beautiful package. Single-player or Co-op rocked my world. Never cared about multiplayer. Also, i do not recall any other game at the time with the same level of A.I. It actually got better and smarter for each iteration of difficulty. Legendary difficulty was truly Legendary. Halo 1 was Combat Evolved. Then came the second installment, with no changes to A.I., more focus on multiplayer than on singleplayer, silly and convulted story, same soundtrack, celebrity voices, no atmosphere and everything bumpmapped to hell. My god, that thing was an abomination. The first one was the creation of a bunch of nerds with the idea of making a fun and simple game. The second one was the creation of jocks with buzzwords like "epic" and "0wned".
  4. Meh, Halo 1 was one of the best games that i ever played. The second was such a let down that i did not bother much with the rest. This one certainly doesn't have any redeeming factors.
  5. We'll see about those answers when the newer batch of screenshots arrive, don't we?
  6. Nothing controversial about that, they just wrote down what they saw.
  7. Sounds like a good "i'll crap in my pants"-scare. It's been a while. System Shock 2 perhaps?
  8. But it's good to let people act like a jerk, sure beats enforced politeness. Agreed. No, it's impossible to have a serious discussion here without people immediately flaming and trolling. There's nothing wrong with politeness, enforced or not. Nah, there's several places and forums where people can wander to without much moderation. As long as there's no criminal activity, i see little reason for moderation except for keeping threads coherent.

  10. Strange, because I was enjoying the movie for about an hour then it scurried, in my opinion, up it's own arse. The ending was awful to this callsign. Just so we both understand why is ruled/sucked, It made perfect sense to me, and it was crafted beautifully. I no Coen bros fan either, but that movie was great on its own behalf, IMO.
  11. No country for old men is one of the best movies in the 21th century. Especially the ending, just beautiful.
  12. Strange, none of the mainstream politicans agree. And LoF about Stalin? My gosh
  13. I am still at the hate stage for ME2. God knows if i ever will even try it. DA2 is at "i can count to potato"-stage.
  14. Someone actually tried to make a replica of Guts' sword in Berserk? Sheesh As for the combat video.....Wow...the simplification of basically everything. It's like a regression to something completely juvenile in every department. Warriors can't use bows? What are they thinking?! [insert Seinfeld giving up and leaving-gif here]
  15. You have realised that the dating website is the OTHER browser window? I date wherever i want to date, i am rebel. Shut up, you are not my dad, you have no authority, YOU ARE NOT GOD!
  16. I am an atheist. Sad to say, i practice sodomy, cannibalism and murder. I lie and cheat to get what i want. My aim is chaos, genocide and depravity. I revel in greed, hatred, envy and lust. If only a god would smite me down and make me change my ways, i would do so in order to get into heaven.
  17. Luckily for us, there are people who look beyond the horizons of current knowledge and try to push the barriers, otherwise we would still live in caves be scared of lightning. This isn't about having an open mind - this is about cold, hard truth. You can ramble on all you want about how believing that our current knowledge is incomplete means that FTL travel is possible, but the fact is that it is not. You're fooling yourself. Nah, based on what was considered as scientific consencus, i wouldn't be surprised if humanity found a way. Also with your argument, you have to proove that despite all knowledge about everything, FTL travel is impossible.
  18. About India, it is more about the hindi culture, and less about race. The Soviet Union was totalitarian, 'nuff said.
  19. Thanks to youtube and spotify, i haven't bought an album in years.
  20. He's a Briton of course. The british have no cultural/racial/lingvistic connection with barbarians at the continent at all.
  21. Meh, my original intent was not about the morality of piracy, rather how interest groups try give themselves extra legal mandate in order to 1) control what's on the internet, all in the name of fighting piracy 2) undermine the point of all been equal under the law This whole "hurr-durr it's theft, pay millions of dollars NAO!" is so silly that it isn't even funny. The smart ones in the industry will adapt to the situation and turn it into profit (iTunes, Steam, Spotify, Netflix) and those who don't will fail. End of story. Like radio destroyed the LP, like VHS destroyed movies, like the cassette destroyed the....wait.
  22. I had to look up what it meant. Wonderful term Basically, it means a gameplay-mechanic that uses "duck and shoot" like in Gears of War, similar to the game of "Whack-a-mole". It also seems to used on everything in gameplay that is simplified and streamlined for console twitch-gaming.
  23. The what? The European Space Agency? neat.
  24. Found this in the same thread
  25. Giving a mix tape to a friend or two is a lot different then giving out mix tapes to a few thousand folks. 90% of all torrents have a 1-4 ratio. Which of course translates to four friends per guy
