Ted Cruz: The Comedy Gold that Keeps on Giving
Meshugger replied to ktchong's topic in Way Off-Topic
Like relevant thinking ever had anything to with truth. Or, i would rather wager that the chance is higher that the Republicans adapt to the change of demographics and its subsequent values. Nothing has changed since 2004. The very same discussion was had back then, except that the target was the Democrats. - "They are completely out of touch with the times!" - "They will implode into two parties!" I see no change in this unless something catastrophic happens.- 125 replies

Ted Cruz: The Comedy Gold that Keeps on Giving

I don't get it. Are Hispanics and Blacks incapable of being conservative? Of course not. I believe the median black or Hispanic voter is actually more conservative than the median white voter, by most measures. If you don't understand what's stopping conservative blacks and Hispanics from voting Republican, my spelling it out for you is not likely to help. So I won't. Aaaah, they do not like white people. Is that it? It's kinda sad that such racism is still accepted in this day and age.- 125 replies

Countdown for "Whiny gamers are entitled"-articles starting now.

Oh, i then have a feeling that the interview with Vox will be the most entertaining one.

Well, it's been a fun ride. Thank you for your participation everyone! Zooraptor is right, within a smaller timeframe we will see the rise of mod-celebrities making some nice amount of dough (eventhough the ridicolous ratio of only 25%) suing each other with seize and desist orders, popular mods getting unexplicitly shut down down and so on. Later, the business models will adapt to the new situation for the examples above, where budgets will be reflected on that. Nexus will completely collapse due to said drama.

I shall reduce myself to self-criticism which would make Mao proud. Now, let the healing begin..... Apparently Pakman has invited Leigh Alexander, Full McIntosh and Based mom for interviews. Only Based mom has shown interest.

Quite the big dog. Heavily invested in Big Data. The **** about corporations colluding to censor the internet scares the **** out of me. Now this man, this is getting deep. Omnicom owns Ketchum...which used to be Putin's PR company until recently. This is like a MGS story Big Data companies constantly develop new algorithms for making market predictions based on "customers" through social media/reddit and the chans. With this predictability they can more easily spot trends and emerging markets. Naturally, in order to gain better market share, these methods have to be tested. They test them on the social media platforms to see if memes or trends can be created. Here is where the paid shills come in. Now, you have big data firms creating memes and thus influencing or at worst framing the online narrative. What to do you think will happen when these people have connections or are going to work within governments? Just look at Ketchum.

The conclusion in the first paper, "He could be a bunny rabbit for all i care", states that gamers do not identify with the characters that they are playing. I feel compelled to point out that using a sample of people who are already gamers is probably not the greatest method of finding out whether the lack of diversity is alienating to people or not, exactly because the sample selection cannot contain people who feel that way. Also, as I mentioned it many, many times, the sample size used provides us with an extremely low confidence in these findings. Which is actually a perfectly valid reason in itself to not reference the study. Occam's Razor, anyone? If they are behaving as professionals, which i highly doubt they do. At this point, you're basically admitting you're arguing from bad faith. Which wouldn't be a problem if we were talking about something subjective (like, personal interpretations of the "gamers are..." articles), but issues of statistics and research methodology are pretty much as objective as they come. When a research paper says that market parity is not the best interest for gaming without telling the reason why, it might as well belong in the trashpile.

Different shades of pink is still a diverse pink. Robin Arnott has the same eyes as someone who collects body parts in their freezer.

So? It's a qualitative study as it often is in social studies, then the amount is not important. What the hell is that even supposed to mean? The amount of what? Amount of people interviewed. Okay, whatever, call it a qualitative study (my experience with those is solely limited to individual case studies). But literally the first thing I was taught about qualitative studies that they're descriptive, not predictive. Treating one as if it did have any sort of predictive power is even more of a bumble than scope insensitivity! And let's not forget the ethical side of this whole thing, because we're still talking ethics. The main thrust of Sargon's video was "the feminists are lying and intentionally burying the study because it doesn't fit the agenda". Faulty understanding of statistics and/or research methodology I'm okay with, throwing ****-flinging hissy fits based on that faulty understanding, not so much. Uh, The conclusion in the first paper, "He could be a bunny rabbit for all i care", states that gamers do not identify with the characters that they are playing. Then suddenly in the second paper, "Do you identify as a gamer? Gender, race, sexuality, and gamer identity", the conclusion from the first paper is not included or referenced, but now the games have to change because market plurality is bad because reasons not mentioned. Sargon clearly states that he assumes that this is due to ideology not matching the data they are researching. An assumption that i share. Ethics.

That's because they generally do not create games. They ban or at best criticize them. Just look at what they tried with HuniePop, Hatred and they are trying with GTA5. Have these games actually been banned or changed to meet the complaints of the SJW critics? Hatred was removed from Steam Greenlight after SJW complaints, but promptly put back by Gabe himself. But ask yourself this: What games would gamers want to be banned?
