  1. lol Lifthransir I should've just waited for you to post and replied "What he said" :D. Damn.
  2. I reckon it's unfair for people to even compare Obsidian Entertainment to Bioware. True, they're using an engine originally developed by Bioware but, for example, Ion Storm, who developed Deus Ex, used the Unreal Tournament Engine to develop their game - however through clever tweaking of the engine and adding heaps of great narrative, Deus Ex ended up as a critically acclaimed game in its own right - and I think KOTOR 2 is like Deus Ex in that respect (unfortunately KOTOR 2 was shipped with several bugs and the game seemed a bit rushed, but the bugs are being fixed anyway ). Obsidian Entertainment has great potential and it's unfair to compare them as a "mini-Bioware" Concerning name-calling, well, yeah it's childish for anyone to do that anyway :D (of course a lot of the people posting the derogatory remarks here probably *are* children anyway...). I don't think it's right for either the developers or the public to just insult each other in the crudest of fashions. I'm all for moderators being more pro-active in getting rid of duplicate posts/flaming posts/irrelevant posts, although I do hope that some of the more well thought-out constructive criticisms don't get censored since sometimes the suggestions are good ones.
  3. I could try and help, but I never used and of the NWN modding tools before so it'd be a steep learning curve for me - although I am a programmer by occupation so it shouldn't be *too* hard to figure out .
  4. Actually the movie's director/creator, Hayou Miyazaki, commented how the character of No Face was actually a bit of a characture of himself. Figure that one out... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If that's the case, maybe Hayou Miyazaki is.... Darth Nihilus himself! *Dark Side Jingle plays*
  5. Are you the Wikipediologist or something? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No I just like using Wikipedia :D.
  6. Everbody knows that the UN doesn't exist long long ago, in a galaxy far far away :D
  7. Yeah I did Onderon last, the first time I played. Just before you leave on the Ebon Hawk you get a message saying that they want you back on Onderon and if I'm not mistaken I think there was a dialogue choice that was along the lines of "What? Already?"
  8. "Always look on the briiiiight side of life" *whistles*
  9. Damnit, why couldn't people refrain from e-mailling the devs (actually I'm surprised that the devs would reveal their e-mail addresses to the public - most other companies don't)? We should: (a) Keep PMs/e-mails to the absolute MINIMUM (or none at all, I mean they've got a job to do!) (b) Get more moderators © Don't expect that the developers will be on the forums 24/7 (I repeat, they have a job to do)! Sure it's nice if they visit every so often, but that's just one of the perks visiting this forum, not an expectation! I really enjoyed the atmosphere on this forum besides the repeat threads and the blatant "I hate OE" threads which didn't offer anything constructive whatsoever. I can't even find KOTOR 2 threads on the Bioware forums (don't know what everyone else is talking about) and the Lucasarts forum isn't great either (their forum is very primitive and they're a bit behind when it comes to news on KOTOR 2, as you'd expect being that they're not the developers). I would be very sad to see these forums go, but like others, understand where the developers are coming from. If Feargus is reading this, congratulations on the new baby !
  10. If all else fails... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darth :D
  11. If you speak to Kreia, and ask why Atris doesn
  12. omg OE u cheaterz <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LOL! OMG U CHEATING w411h4x0|2z wtf? STFU n00b! Ahem but seriously, yeah I don't see what the problem is .
  13. The funny thing is, I actually preferred the KOTOR 1 music over KOTOR 2 (even though the general consensus is that KOTOR 2 had much better Star Wars music). With the exception of a few of the pieces (the evil Jedi themes and The Jedi) the rest didn't sound like Star Wars at all if you ask me (it has to be said though, some music in KOTOR 1 didn't sound like Star Wars either, like the Manaan and Kashyyk music). I think Jeremy Soule was more effective at making distinct the Republic and Sith melodies in his work (so I agree that he's good at that) although I notice that in KOTOR 2, the Sith and Republic themes were mixed up (i.e. the Republic theme would play everyime the Sith entered the fray, and the Sith theme would play everytime the Republic did) - although whether this was intentional (due to the nature of the game - since the lines between good and evil are blurred) I cannot say . Don't get me wrong though, the music from both games are exceptional IMO .
  14. Hmmm the ancient Mandalorians sound a bit like the Robots of Krikkit from Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, going from one planet to the next exterminating the local inhabitants ... .
  15. It's out? I thought that was the International language patch or something?
  16. Does anyone think this character called :"No-Face" from the critically acclaimed anime, 'Spirited Away' has similarties to Darth Nihilus. They obviously don't *look* EXACTLY the same but here are some facts: (1) Both DN and NF conceal their true identity. (2) Both feed off others to gain power. (3) Both speak in an unintelligible manner. Anyway, sorry for the random post (if you don't like it, you can just laugh at the randomness :"> ), it's a long shot that someone else has seen this anime but if they have I'm curious if they had spotted the similarity .
  17. I'm sure the developers would show them kissing if they wanted to, although I think the matter is more of a technical hardship rather than them wanting to censor it (although fundamentalist states tend to censor kissing in movies and games anyway, so your point is valid in some nations). Getting two models to kiss using the NWN engine is probably not easy (this is just conjecture mind you, haven't actually tried ) - of course they could've put a cutscene in there instead although would you have the cheesy romantic music playing in the background where the violins build up to a crescendo? I don't know might make a lot of people .
  18. Whether you want to role-play or power-game is your own choice, really. The game simply is there; it lets you do both but does not force you to do either. D&D has two dimensions - lawful/chaotic and good/evil - while KotOR maps everything onto the dark/light dimension. However, you can still play chaotic good, lawful evil or true neutral if you so desire. The first two will simply delay alignment mastery a bit and as regards neutrality - do you really expect a bonus for nothing at all? If you simply evade questions and avoid taking a stand then the game should put you about halfway to to dark side, and even further if you try to play both ends against the middle (a la Goto). You are either for Vaklu or for Queen Talia, either for the Ithorians or for Czerka. There cannot be any middle ground since the Exile isn't just some anonymous vegetable merchant, she is, well, a player. Avoiding commitment isn't truly neutral, it favours whatever side is currently stronger. I think if the current system has shortcomings then it is these: (1) every light side penalty is automatically a dark side bonus and vice versa (2) you can achieve mastery even if you are not really committed (it just takes longer), and you can thenceforth retain master status by doing nothing at all This could be fixed by adding something like a 'neutrality penalty' that pulls you back to the middle, and this could even exist in polarized forms that act as penalties for one alignment and are neutral to the other. Certain actions could be 'pegged' on the light/dark scale, e.g. stealing might be worth 20% dark and pull you towards that mark if you are lighter but it would do nothing if your are darker already. Things like having Big Z kill Mission would be worth a full 100%. Of course, this would make things mighty complicated for the game designers. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Speaking about point (1) I found it really annoying when I gave some money to bet on a race on Nar Shaddaa and the Twilek running the races said he had problems with his account. When you used Force Persuade to get your money back it gave you dark points <_< . I mean come on! It's rightfully your money!
  19. You can expect the numbers that sign the petition to greatly increase as the weeks go by (since more people are buying the game and finishing it) and at some stage it'll reach it's peak . From the on it'll slowly decline (a bit like a bell curve except the x-axis is duration ).
  20. Well there *is* one possible reason for that - and that's because they're TOO BUSY to post on the forum since they're working on the patch (I'm an optimist for today ).
  21. No. It's important to make the X-Box gamers suffer for their choice. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree. If it wasn't for the X-Box Christmas release... Just kidding .
