  1. Get a 20GB ipod , got mine recently and its fantastic. The new ipods are just an update of the current range, going to be a while before the 5th generation versions come out. If you think an Ipod is overpriced then you have never used one, they are by far the best designed gadget around today. Its just so easy to cycle through thousands of tracks with the touch wheel. And how is it possible to fit 2000 tracks on 5gb? I have about 2000 tracks and that takes up 15gb, accounting for sets, thats possibly 11+GB of normal tracks. Are some peopel's collections entirely consisting of 1 min tunes? The batterylife on the ipod is ****. While its not that much worse than many other products, you cant change the battery so on a long plane flight you could be a bit buggered. The 12hour claim, as with all batterylife claims on MP3/MiniDisk players, is utter BS.
  2. Just fought master Vrook as a lvl 17 sentinal with no force speed or master flurry, was verry tough! Was boring as hell though because all i could do was sit back and watch the fight without any input. For KOTOR3 I hope they do a proper fight simulator for the graphics, ie. it actualy shows whats going on rather than some random animations, would make Lightsaber fights much more dramatic. If theres one thing Jedi Knight 2 did right it was cool lightsaber fights.
  3. Well, we kinda did. Sure, we had settlements even at year 0, but not nearly as many and as large as today, and the people who would rebuild the planet in the SW universe have access to a lot more resources and advanced technology. Didn't mean rebuilding a civilization on a still existing planet, but a planet blasted to a billion other little planets... You don't rebuild those in 2000 years and have them as one whole planet again etc, like in the movies <{POST_SNAPBACK}> At no point in any of the KOTOR games do they even begin to suggest that a planet has been destroyed ala Alderan. All they said was the Jeedi acadamy was destroyed, though I thought It would be a lot more toasted than it was in KOTOR2.
  4. Yes and some people vote Republican; some people are idiots who should not be pandered to.
  5. While I dont like druids and pure class bards, these classes all have a massive role to play. Games which use a class system are always far more indepth and interesting, the skill system works for a fps/rpg like Vampire and Deus Ex but its a pretty shallow system for a party based RPG system like BG type games. Morrowinds combat is dull anyway and there are classes whatever you say. Class based system is just more fun because you can have more specialised characters.
  6. Squad based RPGs will only work in 3rd person. Personaly i found BG far more imersive than Vampire anyway. If its a Deus Ex style then first person is by far the best option.
  7. make your time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> WHAT YOU SAY? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You know what you doing <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For great justice. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You are on the way to destruction
  8. Tom bomb was a bit pointless and so not needed in the film, ent water is in extended DVD edition. Loved the first two films, though some of the stuff they removed and changed in the second one didnt make sense, just seemed to be 'Hollywood' which there was no need to do, the films were goign to be massive whatever. Third LOTOR film sucked in many ways, was ok but not a patch on the book and just fealt rushed and cheesy, the battles wernt even as interesting as the ones in the previous films, certainly not as cool as the Mines of Moria fight in Fellowship.
  9. Dantooine wasnt destoryed, it was attacked. And the Peragus thing is refering to the death of Telos if you dont find a fuel supply, hence 2 planets with one explosion.
  10. By tactics I mean that you actualy have to think and use the force powers and items creatively, for example having to remove bariers from opponents (such as the force immunity that they never seem to use). Also say for example you run into a room., theres 3 guys who run at you with mele weapons and 2 snipers, you have to choke the snipers while another member of your party force pushes or stuns the mele guys for a second to buy you some vital time. That sort of thing. Its quite difficult to explain because when implimented properly there should be no specific one way of winning in a fight. Thats what I loved about RPG games, you could go into battles and try out a number of different styles, essentialy having a different experience with whatever tactics you chose to use. This does not mean that you cant go in for some lightsaber melee masacre, but its just not rewarding when you can win by selecting target and clicking attack then sitting back. Quick fix would be to make it either impossible to cast offensive forcepowers while in force speed mode and/or to lower AC vs other melee fighters while in speed mode (to show lack of caution).
  11. Already discussed much of this in a thread with Stoo but to recap on some stuff not already said... Reduced AC vs more than 2 opponents, ie, so that you can get ganged up on, this will also make the force disable powers more than tools for quickly dispatching enemies. Reduced force power strength, or maybe reduce the number of force points you get , not too sure how to balance this one but it needs some nerfing at least. Perhaps a reduction in strength and a diversification of powers, maybe a little more like the Wizzard spell system works in BG games (in terms of the tactics which you need to use). Most importantly they need to create TACTICAL FIGHTS, just something like the sort of variety of tactics you have to use in dnd games; putting some thought into the battle. Im not sayign just make this BG with ligthsabers but a tactical element, however it is achieved, would be perfect. ADD PENALTIES TO MASTER FLURRY!!!! this is just stupidly powerful. They should give you an extra attack but perhaps make the next enemy attack guarenteed to hit you, or maybe give you 2 attacks for one guarenteed hit from every enemy fighting you. I dont think a total rewrite of the rules is needed as there is a definite basis for some tactics in the current rules, and there were one or two battles where I did actualy have to think about what I was doing (when i forced myself to use niether speed or flurry). Rewrite maybe a good idea but out of all the crpg games ive played the DnD based games give the biggest scope for tactics in battles.
  12. Wasn't attacking you or anyone really, its just your quote summed up the topic a lot nicer than quoting a few diff people at same time.
  13. The 'point' of playing games on difficult is so that they are FUN. Its just plain retarded and defeats the point to give bonuses when you notch up the difficulty level. Some of us like to use our brains when playing. Its 1.5x damage when on difficult, they also may have a little more hp and higher saves, not sure but the 1.5x damage is definite.
  14. Oh and dont confuse force crush with force 'wound choke and kill and crush opponent', as some of you seem to have done.
  15. Maybe removing AOE powers or at least seriously toning them down would help a lot, still even without using them the game is too easy.
  16. They seem to have made Jedi far more powerful than they were in the films though. Also they just dont place you against difficult odds often, with a couple of exceptions. Reducing your AC vs multiple opponents would help, also slowing down the lvl speeds, ive said that before but its just ridiculous how fast you lvl.
  17. A lot of people shared your opinion of how great this game was (by about half way through), me included. The end really is that bad.
  18. Baldurs Gate 1 +2 had the difficulty done perfectly. My first time through I didnt have a clue about DnD rules, so i whacked the game on easy for quite a while and it was still challenging as I learned the ropes. Once I got competant I put it up to core-rules and then difficult which provided a great tactical challenge in many of the fights. The point is it required very little input from the developers to make a gameplay choice that suited all tastes and also greatly improves replayability. BG also had a better story in many ways so there's no excuse. However you want to look at it, or make excuses like, 'well I just play an RPG for the story', the combat in KOTOR is a joke on difficult. Its still kind of fun in parts but gets old pretty quick. The story does carry you through for much of it though but there are games which provide both.
  19. You get force crush near the end of the game after the Jedi council meeting. But only if you are darkside.
  20. **** we best get George on the phone WE MUST BOMB THOSE FREEDOM HATING FINS NOW!!!!!!! Maybe someone should give Tony a call, i reackon he'd be up for it if you guys sell Finland some WMDs like you did with Iraq. Just remember not to destroy them before invading this time! Next Germany and then France, we shall not tolerate these FREEDOM HATING Euroes with their shorter working hours, better working conditions, welfare systems and employee rights!!!!!
  21. ******SPOILER********** If you take T3 with you on every planet he eventualy reveals to you through a holovid , which must be read backwards while upsidedown to be interpreted, that the 40 or so sith troopers that appear was David Blains latest stunt. I dont see how you guys missed this, Obsidian made it quite clear.
  22. I fealt that KOTOR2's story line was potentialy the far superior storyline and alot more complex but was implemented poorly. Just as the whole amnesia thing is possibly the MOST ANNOYING PLOT DEVICE EVER IN THE HISTORY OF BORING AND ANNOYING PLOT DEVICES, but was carried of with style in KOTOR1. The whole flashback thing was a good idea, would have been good if people had asked you about the war, you'd then had a flashback, then you can chose to say 'I dont want to talk about it' rather than the flat out refusal options we get. I disagree with the council revelation being lame, as throughout the game it is quite clear the Exile thinks the council has cut him off from the force, and does not realize it was himself.
  23. The story is the same but the game plays completely differently, so it is a different experience when you replay (in BG games). Playing KOTOR as light or dark creates a change in the outcome of certain events but no change in gameplay. Still loved KOTOR all the way through, and KOTOR2 for most of the game. ON TOPIC though, the main elements of the story should be easy to find out. Not to say it shoudlnt be complex, or that certain elements shouldnt be revealed through effort on your part, but to have a situation where you can exhaust every single possible avenue available to you and still not have a clue whats going on is just plain wrong. There were quite a few things that just didnt make sense in KOTOR2, for example I had no idea what to do on GOTO's ship after id killed everyone as there was no indication that I should leave and have it destroyed by some guys who appeared from nowhere. My mission was afterall to rescue the exile and bring GOTO back to the hutt. I didnt have a clue that Bao-dur even had anything to say after he'd built my lightsaber untill I had beat the game and read the forums. I also hear T3 has some interesting things to say as far as plot development goes, but I never really got these things even though I had a big influence score over him. Just never take droids because I find BLEEPBLEEPBLEEP to not be a verry interseting thing to read all the time However its always more interesting though when you are awarded extra plot and information when you try and find it. I think they struck the right balance with Kreia because it was made pretty clear that she would have some interesting things to say and that having her along would provide some indication as to whats going on. (Serious overuse of the word 'Influence' and poor grammar but its late and i cba)
