I noticed in my steam client that there is a new DLC entry  labeled Pillars of Eternity Owners Bonus: Gauns Pledge. But this does not seem to install. I have seen explanations of what it is but no notes on when/why it doesn't install. Are there some specific requirements to get it to install: I am a Fig backer of the game.

Thanks in advance

    same here.

It's listed at SteamDB too.  Considering it says "Pillars of Eternity Owners Bonus", it might be that if you own the first game it's a loyalty gift.  I'm sure it will connect somehow but it only appeared yesterday in the database.

Same for me. Im hankering to get my hands on those tasty gifts lol

It installed tonight.  It gives you a ring called Gaun's Pledge that does AOE healing.

Hasn't installed yet for me, I guess it's just a bit slow to reach everyone? Probably just need to wait a bit longer.

I do remember Gaun's Pledge being a preorder bonus (I think?) in PoE1. The DLC for the PoE2 version shows that it was acquired on 2015-03-25, so it definitely confirms that it's tied to owning PoE1 (was released 2015-03-26).

You are correct, this is the PoE 1 loyalty/owner bonus, i.e. it is only available to accounts that have both PoE 1 and 2 registered to them.

It's shown as installed for me, btw.

its not installing for me and there isn't a way to uninstall and reinstall or force a install.

So I have the same issue, I have both Pillers of Eternity and Deadfire in steam (and I was a backer on both). While it is flagged for install it is not installed on my machines. I have even tried to reinstall Deadfire but it still is marked as not installed.

Do you have to start a new game to get it to install? Or is there some other way to have the ring content download?

Mine is still showing as "not installed". I tried switching back and forth between the beta patch version and release version, tried enabling/disabling the item in steam, and tried relogging completely on Steam. It's just not starting the installation of the Gaun's Pledge.

For the ones that don't have the DLC:
Do you have PoE1 installed?
I remember not having the ring at first, but then installing PoE1 again to check something.
I don't know if the ring came back after that or not, but it may be something you could try.

Yep I've tried to install PoE1 and it still says bought 13/2/2015 but it's not installed.

I've also tried the beta branch and reinstalling PoE2. Not quite sure what is going on.

Hey on reddit somone postet a fix for the Download // Install Issue.

https://www.reddit.com/r/projecteternity/comments/8ikclr/how_do_i_install_pillars_of_eternity_owners_bonus/

Had to copy his file in my game dictonary and then verify my game files.

For me it still says not installed in steam (but owned) and works.

Well I downloaded the file and I then received the item in game but it does still say not installed so very odd.

Some sort of bug thats for sure.

Got the same problem. It downloaded but is markt as not installed.

It would seem that whether or not the DLC works depends on which edition of PoE 1 you got and how you obtained it (i.e. which Steam subscription you own).

Judging from the information on SteamDB I currently suspect that the depot association for the Gaun's Pledge DLC is misconfigured and thus not available for owners of all of the various PoE 1 subscriptions in existence.

As an example: I own the regular Royal Edition, package #61328. This package contains the Gaun's Plege DLC app #851470. However, the package does not contain the depot #812231, which contains the actual DLC file. I guess that's why Steam shows the DLC as availabe, but cannot download anything for it. (I own the DLC, but not its content, so to say.)

Taking the Kickstarter Royal Edition (package #62851) shows a slightly different picture: This package contains the DLC app #851470, but also the depot #812231.

Assuming this theory is correct, you should be able to check whether or not the DLC would install for you: Log into SteamDB and check the page listing the packages including depot #812231. If one of the rows is highlighted in green, you own that package and the DLC shoud install for you. If no row is highlighted, the DLC probably won't install.

So it shows on my profile that Pillers of Eternity (291650) is owned by me, I have the Royal and champion edition content (and pre-order pet / items) but I can't tell what overall package that is. I also have the additional DLCs. Yet it still flags my Gauns pledge as acquired but it does not install.

Pulling the file from reddit gives me the item in game but does not mark it as installed still. (Since I have 2 machines it's not something I've done on both and I've since deleted the file).

So perhaps the issue is that the item is not downloading for the correct package? I'm based in the UK but I don't see anything UK region only which may be linked to the issue.

Another thought, my profile was marked as private, I've just made it public and will try to see if that fixes the issue as I wonder if it cannot verify I own the game while it's private.

Nope that did not help, I think that the issue as posted before is that the content is not linked to all PoE packages correctly.

I can say that none are green for me, and so far the DLC hasn't installed yet either.

You should be able to tell that from the package list associated with app 291650. Once again, your package should be highlighted.

The dependencies are a bit messy, so it's not easy to predict what anyone gets too see when following the various links. It would still be interesting to hear of someone who has actually succeeded in installing the DLC through Steam ...
