Boeroer Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 By the way: which god is connected to Nature Godlikes? Galawain? He has "Wilderness" in his portfolio... Deadfire Community Patch: Nexus Mods
blotter Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Given his focus on hunting and beasts, one might expect his godlike to be more predatory in nature, but he is the closest fit in terms of portfolios. It really is hard to see flowers growing out of one's hair/scalp as being the mark of the god of hunters and assassins, but as for the nature godlikes' prey animal aspect, he did create the Great Western Stag.

Leeuwenhart Posted February 16, 2017 Author Posted February 16, 2017 (edited) By the way: which god is connected to Nature Godlikes? Galawain? He has "Wilderness" in his portfolio...Nature Godlike is Galawain or Eothas Remember Gaun aspect. Also... dawn godlike cant be shining head godlike. St Waedwen was a shining head guy and nobody said he was godlike. Eders brother even converted bz of how he looked. If he was just a "dawn godlike" then nobody wouldve believed him he claimed he was eothas. Not without some serious magic. But then why would his shining be mentioned in the story as something miraculous. Godlike are rare. But not miracles. They are the albinos of Eora. Rare enough. But known. Wiki is extremely vague. It even describes fire godlike as SEEN as a sign of blessing of Magran. Which is a viewpoint not a fact. Also ... Wellspring of Life looks like an Eothas trait. It specifically says: The souls of nature godlike respond powerfully to distress and the impending collapse of their physical body. Remember Eothas isnt the resurrection god. None of them are. And he has some control over flora as he is a harvest/growth god. (GAUN) But... i still think its Galawain. Mayne new models got more beast in them. I dont see how people kill those cute faun girls n boys. Easy one of the palatable godlike. Even with some plants on the head. Edited February 16, 2017 by Leeuwenhart
Varana Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Waidwen certainly was not Godlike (as in his race). He lived quite unremarkably for a while until Eothas chose him, and no one saw him shining light out of his ... head during that time. Therefore I have sailed the seas and come To the holy city of Byzantium. -W.B. Yeats Χριστός ἀνέστη!
injurai Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 I wonder if Ondra's would be more "Fish Godlike" (mermaids, lol), or more "Water Godlike" such as this: This is lovely. Would back.
rjshae Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Rymrgand would be ice, but what type of freakish hair would you associate with Wael or Skaen? Wael -- this could be a mass of eyes on stalks, perhaps protecting them against backstab or the like Skaen -- perhaps a hairless lump of tortured, bloody, oozing flesh? Eww... "It has just been discovered that research causes cancer in rats."
blotter Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Nature Godlike is Galawain or EothasRemember Gaun aspect. You raise a good point in regards to Eothas/Gaun here. Plus Eothas is also god of spring, which has clear ties to abundance in nature. In the same way that death godlike might be "shared" between Berath and Rymrgrand, perhaps there are some touched by Gaun. It would be an opportunity to explore less diseased/horrific manifestations among them. Also... dawn godlike cant be shining head godlike. St Waedwen was a shining head guy and nobody said he was godlike.Eders brother even converted bz of how he looked. If he was just a "dawn godlike" then nobody wouldve believed him he claimed he was eothas. Saint Waidwen's appearance doesn't preclude Dawn/Light/Sun godlike from having glowing heads. For one thing, there could be a substantial difference in degree or in the "presence" of Eothas as housed in Waidwen. As Varana mentioned, Waidwen wasn't a godlike; he was transformed from his rather ordinary human form when Eothas fused with him. As for nobody believing him because they'd dismiss him as a "mere" Eothasian godlike, people did doubt and challenge Waidwen in the beginning. His following really started to grow after he demonstrated his power. It wasn't just a matter of showing off his new glowing face, he was shunned as a blasphemer and fraud until he restored life to withered farmlands and deposed an Aedyrian colonial governor. See http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/St._Waidwen:_Farmer_Become_God for details.
Leeuwenhart Posted February 16, 2017 Author Posted February 16, 2017 (edited) So... Glowface like the sun... Trump is a Dawn Godlike? "Waidwen...is that you?" Hahaha XD Edited February 16, 2017 by Leeuwenhart
blotter Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Glowface like the sun... Maybe, maybe not. It's hardly a stretch to imagine Eothas' godlike appearing that way, but you're right about him being a possible source for nature godlike as well. If Boeroer's theory regarding godlike features varying with cultural/regional emphasis of divine aspects is true, then the fertility linked aspects of nature godlike (horns of often symbolic of fertility and like you said, blossoming flora speaks for itself) that we've seen so far may point to a closer link to Eothas than Galawain. Maybe Eothas godlike who emphasize aspects of light/dawn instead of bounty in nature are extremely rare.
evilcat Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 (edited) It is possible that Eora pantheon wasnt consulted with enographic specialist, since it is just video game and rule of cool apply. But it is not big deal, since questioning fantasy pantheon is on the list "worst things VG geeks do". There are some imprefections in deities: Who is agral god? It should be important deity. Eoathas is more solar (also good pick). Gaun aspect seems to be connected with vegetation. So nature godlikes are more Gaun. Can Solar and Nature aspects exists as separete godlikes? Galawain looks more like deity of primal woods, woods=hunt, wood, but also many threats wolves and stuff. Beastlike godlike is an option. Whose are death Death godlike? They have cancer face so that would suggest Rymrgand, but that is also one cool god, when Death Godlike are more into shadows and rapid death. Connection with bereth is not clear so far. Skaen godlike with scarface and wounds everywhere or bleeding eyes would be an option (scarry AF) Pain, Madness, Hatred, betrayal could make nice set of powers and perks. Death godlike ability is to hasten death to the dying. Push em through the door as will. Thats berath. Rymrgand doesnt want death. He wants destruction. He wants oblivion. Souls stop existing. In myth he collects them in his corpsefur. Hes this settings Devil Collector. And the contra reincarnation soul thing makes him anti establishment like Mr Satan. anameforobsidian Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 Missing Godlike Types: Abydon is the easiest; his have iron skin. Rymrgand is just icy. Again not that hard. Wael's could be covered in mists, like Wael himself. Skaen and Woedica are where it gets cool. A Skaen-like would probably have scars all over his body. Woedica might have burned skin, or perhaps a minotaur type thing from the what her judges looked like.
