I hope we'll have a great Spell System, similar to what was done in Tyranny.

Also from Tyranny, the whole "Cooldown Ability" thing was good aswell.

& what about this :

You mean every spell is aoe damage with slightly varying shapes and a cooldown forcing you to go through your rotation like a checklist? But it's great because you need to click through a menu to put the spell on your hotbar instead of just choosing it from your spellbook, right?

How about no.

Two of a couple other things I hope the POE II dev team steers clear of.

While highly flexible, I think Tyranny's spell system is incredibly bland and unappealing.

Same for the cooldown mechanic which is like a vampire sucking the tactical finesse out of combat. As far as I'm concerned MMO-like gameplay mechanics have no place in a proper cRPG and it should stay that way.

Tyranny played with mechanics better left for single-character rpgs imo. Pillars' mechanics felt better overall to me.

I liked the combat system of PoE1 more than the one from Tyranny.

Please do not make everything cooldown based.

Maybe one new class can have cooldowns or a small amount of spells you can create from items you find. One big plus of PoE1 was that each class felt somehow different from the others.

spell system was good for tyranny, but not really what they're tyring to do here, i think.

i loved the lore of it,-- it's more fleshed out and the ability to tweak spells a little bit was pretty interesting.

some small ability in that regard could be interesting-- like, twaking the shape of the spell or empowering it (moves it up one spell level, perhaps) but i think on the whole, i'd like to see much the same as POE.

However, the ability for high level mages to craft one or two spells-- and only that-- would be interesting. Because it would allow you to tailor a spell to the composition of your party-

Gosh I hope they don't take anything from Tyranny, except maybe some of the faction ideas (faction abilities depending on your reputation).

Pillars 2 already draws inspiration by Divinity Original Sin 2 (afflictions/counters). Also sawyer said in aspeech that they are stealing Witcher 3's dynamic music style? Something like that.

This topic is more about what they can Mix & Merge.

Ideas they can develop on.

What I say, are things they "might" inspire of, but not necessarily something that "has" to be in the Game.

Just havin fun with Speculations.

I liked Pillars Combat System, for Spells, things like Minolettas_minor_missiles.png?version=18 for exemple, could end up working on the Cooldown System, that I wouldn't mind.

Exited for Ciphers aswell :)
