demeisen
I guess I don't understand Minor Arcane Reflection. I'm casting it in fights with skeletal wizards, in an attempt to not get hit by so many of their spells. (I realize it won't protect against AOEs). Even though it's in effect, and shows in my status with 50+ seconds remaining, every1st to 3rd level spell they cast still hits me and does damage. For example: bounding missiles (3rd), necrotic lance (2nd), etc. I had expected the M.A.R. to protect me against those (until it exhausts its total level count, but I get hit even by their first cast). Solo char, so I'm the only thing around for them to aim at. Or is it that I still get hit, but the casting creature does as well? I haven't seen any signs of that, but maybe I missed it in the combat log... Edited October 26, 2016 by demeisen
Boeroer
No, it should turn the spell into a miss and reflect. Maybe you should post that in the tech forum as a bug. Deadfire Community Patch: Nexus Mods
AndreaColombo
I would do so hastily, as once 3.04 is out (and the plan, if memory serves, is to release it this week), no more patches will be released for this game and any unfixed bugs will stay indefinitely. Raven Darkholme
I used the potion once, found it lacking and never used it again. Boeroer
The mages with Brynlod's bounty use it - and for them it worked quite well (ouch). Or maybe that was Major Arcane Reflection? Can't remember... Deadfire Community Patch: Nexus Mods

Can't remember... Idk I only used Amplified Spam as a damaging spell which is above 3 and never got reflected, other than that I only used Time parasite, Borrowed Instinct and Reaping Knives, which technically can't get reflected since it is buff/debuffs. JerekKruger
Amplified Wave is AoE and targets an Ally so if I understand correctly it wouldn't be affected even if it were below level 5. I would do so hastily, as once 3.04 is out (and the plan, if memory serves, is to release it this week), no more patches will be released for this game and any unfixed bugs will stay indefinitely. How moddable is PoE? I ask because there were unofficial BG2 fix patches a long time after support for BG2 stopped, so perhaps we can hope for the same with PoE.

demeisen
Interestingly, I have seen M.A.R. working OK in some other situations now, like vs. ogre druid targeted spells. I don't quite understand the situation with the skeletal mages, but... in general the spell does appear to work. Maybe there is some other relevant factor with the skeltons that I'm not aware of. Boeroer
Ah - maybe skeleton wizards are not real wizards and the lance is an ability and not a spell for them. They also don't drop grimoires - so that must be the reason. Maybe that spells from spell binding items also don't get reflected. 3 Deadfire Community Patch: Nexus Mods
