I'm very interested in the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game Online, but a little wary of the steep price that was imposed for the physical ones. I am hoping it would be cheaper to start with so I can play with my best buddy. I don't mind add-ons or subscriptions for expansions and whatever. Please let me know what the prices are. Thanks!

Perils Of The Lost Cost which includes the scenarios Brigandoom!, The Poison Pill and Black Fang's Dungeon and the characters Kyra and Merisiel are free. You can purchase the Rise of the Runelords which unlocks the rest of the adventure decks and all the characters for $24.99. The characters and decks can also be purchased piecemeal.

You can also use gold, which is an in-game currency you earn by playing, to purchase the adventure decks and characters.

So you can, in theory, get the base game free, and play it ravenously and end up with a complete set?  Or are the "gold" awards once-per-whatever-achievement things that won't stack up to pay for an entire Adventure Path?

"I need a lie-down" is the new "I'll be in my bunk..."

Based on preliminary information, yes, you can play the game to get the gold you need to get the scenarios and characters. One of the testers said it was a handful (3-5, I think) of scenarios to buy the first adventure deck, and while subsequent decks are more gold, you also have more opportunity due to more scenarios in AD #1. Additional characters can also be acquired like this, although the more you want, the more repeating of scenarios will be required.

There is still benefit for gold if you get the season pass, though - treasure chests. These contain *other* cards, although I'm not real clear on what those cards are, or how this process works in practice.

It might also be important to mention that you don't need to replay the same scenarios in order to earn gold- you can also play the quest mode, which generates random scenarios and is worth more gold the higher difficulty you play on. All in all, if it's going to function as it does in the demo, the free to play system they have in place is very fair and it is indeed entirely possible to unlock everything with gold. It could take a lot of time, though- I've play about 13 scenarios(counting playing already finished scenarios on a harder difficulty) and I have earned enough gold to buy adventure deck 1 and am almost halfway towards having enough to buy deck 2.

So that's a free deck in, what? A week or two?

I think the plan is extremely fair.

Plus give them your money so they can make more decks and scenarios.

Yeah; I think what I read was that the season pass would give you the six adventure decks plus the additional characters, for $25. My iTunes card is sitting on my desk, just waiting.

In the closed beta, just playing for fun for a couple of weeks, I've unlocked everything except for 2 of the base set characters. This is without doing a single thing that I consider "grinding." Of course, your experience may vary depending on how you want to play the game.

For more information on the f2p system, you can read this long post I wrote.

That actually sounds fairly awesome.  I will probably play the dickens out of the game, and if I get impatient, there's always cash.

Oh don't worry, they have my money as soon as I am able to give it to them.

$25 is such a great value for getting everything. Totally underpriced, in my opinion.

We do take tips in beer

Never tell me the odds! I probably wrote them

Is there any info on the price of the season pass in different regions, namely in Europe? $25 is roughly €22, but it's not like it's uncommon for digital content to cost the same number of euros as it does dollars, if not a lot more.

€22 and I'm in day one. €25 is pushing it but I'll probably pay (and grumble about it a little). Over €25 and I'm out, just on principle.

In europe the taxes will put it above 25$. I Expect that in here Finland it will be something like 30€, but that is just a wild ques. We have 24% tax in here, so direct 22€ + tax 5.5€ would be 27.5€.

Even that would be cheap for game like this. There is a lot of to play and the game seems to be really good! There still Are bugs to hunt down but so Are any other Computer games too.

Please keep in mind that if you were to get everything physically, it would be well over 100 dollars or euros or what have you.

I'm very well aware of that, since I've already paid it. Mind you, it was almost €200 (that's well over $200) here in Finland, which I understand what with shipping and everything. But it should be different with digital content.

Pricing is rarely set to make higher profits in different markets. Depending on the additional taxes and charges in each separate market, all they're trying to do is get consistent revenue from each sale.
