  1. Awesome! In case you haven't already seen it - the Blessing of Sivanah has a typo - "explore YOU location" rather than "explore YOUR location".
  2. Based on information from the beta, it wasn't clear to me whether previous posts (including ones I've made) are correct about the scope of the season pass. Particularly, I'm not sure whether the season pass includes ONLY the six adventure decks, or whether it ALSO includes some selection of characters. Although I wouldn't object to an official answer, I'd honestly rather the Obsidian people be spending their time prepping for release. Personally, I don't think it affects my decision, so I'm happy to wait-and-see. That said, presuming that characters are NOT included, I thought it would be interesting to see whether people had thought about what order they would be acquiring characters. As a reminder, character access in the beta worked like this: * New accounts had access to Merisiel and Kyra. * You could acquire Ezren, Harsk, Lem, Seoni, or Valeros (for 2000 gold each). * You could acquire Amiri, Lini, Sajan, or Seelah (for 4000 gold each). This is the "C" expansion. * There was a "special offer" that allowed acquisition of all of the "C" expansion characters, but I don't recall the cost. I think my first addition will be Ezren, since he'll provide Intelligence, the Arcane skill, and with just a little bit of play, he turns into a spell-recharging machine. On top of that, his ability to explore again after acquiring a spell lets him BURN through locations like the Academy, which makes up for his lack of any Blessings to use for extra exploration. What are the rest of you thinking?
  3. I don't work for Obsidian, and have no knowledge of internal schedules or anything. In any kind of development unforeseen delays are possible. That said, check out this link: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/86009-pathfinder-adventures-beta-ending-today-april-12th
  4. I very much agree! Thanks for sharing your work with us and letting us help you find problems. More than once I found myself getting into playing the game, and realizing after several turns worth of checks had gone by that I had forgotten to scrutinize all the details. Looking forward to the end of the month!
  5. I think I've experienced a similar issue a couple of times, and although it may line up with other progression issues people have been having, I figured I'd record it just in case. The first time I saw this was when I acquired AD1; I'd previously had my Kyra die during Black Fang's Dungeon, but had finished the scenario with Merisiel. Once I acquired AD1 and went back to play the scenario again, however, all progression vanished, and I had to replay the entire base set to gain access to AD1. My speculation at the time was that it was somehow related to gaining access to the next set of scenarios. Everything seemed fine when I went back through, but when I acquired AD2, even though I didn't have some characters who had access and some who didn't, progress was again reset back to base level. As others (Hannibal, I think) have said, it's the "party" progress that's wiped; I still have access to higher difficulty levels. I wiped my party again, and ran through the scenarios again. I wasn't thinking that I would encounter anything unusual as I approached the end of AD2, since there wasn't an AD3 available, but I just finished the last scenario, and I'm stuck at rebuilding decks. I'm presented the cards available to me based on the adventure, but with the card feats the characters just got, I'm unable to give them all the cards they need, and the "advance" button never enables. Specifically, I chose a spell for Ezren, a blessing for Meri, and a spell for Kyra. Ezren's got plenty of spells, but banished an ally, and we didn't get any, so he has no choices. Kyra needs a spell, but interestingly, even if I ditch one from Ezren, I have difficulty moving that into Kyra's list. To be fair, I believe this is a separate issue, but because of the timing, I'm including it here.
  6. In Thistletop Delve, when encountering Orik with Merisiel, I thought the text read "were" the loot is rather than "where". That might be Orik speaking phonetically, but figured it wouldn't hurt to check.
  7. On the first section of the opening vignette for the Attack on Sandpoint scenario with Merisiel & Kyra, Meri says, "Hello Father Desna. I always love a good party. Even if this one has a pious bent." Subsequently, Father Zantus speaks up, so I think it should probably be Father Zantus.
  8. Hmmm... That leaves me more confused than before. I know I'm able to create a new party with "experienced" adventurers; are you saying that in this situation, the only thing that's going to transfer is their feats, and not their cards?
  9. On the screen where you choose a scenario/adventure, I think you should add one of the red "back" buttons to return to the party selection screen (story-mode), or the character selection screen (quest-mode). While the "Quit Game" button under the settings dialog accomplishes this feature, I think it only serves to confuse the novice users.
  10. Oh! That makes TONS of sense. Thanks for setting me straight. Do you think it would be appropriate to differentiate between a "default" combat check (my d8), and a Melee check (the 2d4) in the pulldown for check type? That might help illustrate to the user that something had changed and give them a way to "take back" their mistake?
  11. Along these lines, I think part of the problem may simply be a mismatch in how I imagine things to work. I've read elsewhere that they're trying to differentiate between "account" data (purchased adventure decks, available difficulties, gold), "party" data (what adventures, scenarios have been completed), and "character" data (cards, feats, and which scenarios/adventures the character has completed). Starting with story-mode, here's what I expected: Purchased decks - Working mostly as expected; once I buy it, I have access to it (presuming I've advanced the storyline far enough). I thought that the Base adventure was optional, so that someone using the season pass could jump right to Attack on Sandpoint, if they wanted, but don't see this as a big deal. Available Difficulties - Exactly as expected; once I've finished Brigandoom on Normal, if I want to start a brand new party on Heroic difficulty, I can do that. The other scenarios wouldn't be available at all for the new party until I finish Brigandoom, but at that point (presuming I'd previously beaten them on Normal), I'd be able to go right to Heroic. Ditto for Legendary, presuming I'd beaten Heroic. Gold - Exactly as expected; doesn't matter where it comes from, it just all goes into one single place that you can spend it from. Completed Adventures & Scenarios - Presently, when starting a party, regardless of whether using new or experienced characters, that party has their progression at an initial state (i.e. nothing completed). Since this is also tracked at the character level, I think this is the source of my confusion. If my Merisiel and Kyra have credit for all of the Base adventure, and I start a new party with experienced adventurers, it's confusing to be restricted to only Brigandoom. Cards & Feats - These are probably the most important thing to get right, as they're essentially the "identity" of the character. These should be always consistent, from creation to deletion of the character. (I had thought there was a way to "clone" a character who was already in a party, but I'd guess it was me misunderstanding having multiple Kyras.) In the event that a party is deleted, and the experienced character integrated into a new party, I would expect all of their data to follow along with them. Since Quest-mode includes an XP total, it makes sense to me that it would be a separate set of characters from story-mode. Here, though, there's no need for any tracking around scenarios or adventures (hence, XP, I imagine). It appears that awarded XP is not maintained if you Forfeit, but that acquired boons are. That seems consistent with behavior in story mode (i.e. you're not getting feats if you don't finish scenarios), but probably should be added to the dialog shown when you're forfeiting.
  12. Dice incorrectly changed when activating Soldier ability. iPad, Normal Brigandoom, no Pass&Play, no Permadeath Playing as Merisiel, encounter Zombie (Combat 9 to defeat) at the Old Bridge Default die was d8 (Str). Played a Soldier (recharge to add d4 to your Melee Combat check), and the dice became 2d4, rather than d8+d4 I was able to repeatedly Evade the encounter and repeat the problem.
  13. In playing through the base scenarios, I noticed that this grammatical error was still in place in beta 3.
  14. Spent a bunch of time playing through the base scenarios and adventure deck 1, and wanted to briefly share my overall impression - THIS GAME IS AWESOME! I love the ease with which you can play through a scenario, and greatly appreciate the simplicity of allowing the game to "take care of the details". When the first base set was originally released, I picked that up, and subscribed to the first several adventure decks, and while it was fun, it ended up that the other people I'd been hoping to play with weren't as interested as I'd hoped. At that point, setup for just me was silly. By making this electronic, it totally bypasses that. I'll detail the issues I've encountered elsewhere, but wanted to share first impressions separately. Thanks!
  15. Yeah; I think what I read was that the season pass would give you the six adventure decks plus the additional characters, for $25. My iTunes card is sitting on my desk, just waiting.
