Salty Mast scenes fade to black?

I was expecting some nice artistic drawings of some kind after doing the nasty with Lyrinia. The game has talented artists who know how to draw.  Remember Witcher 1's sex cards? Something like that would've been great.   

Keep in mind my recommendation applies to both male & female, so no matter who your character sleeps with, you'll be treated to some tasteful, sexual appealing art of of the patrons working at the Salty Mast.  

Perhaps these can be added in the expansion or maybe even version 2.0 patch update? 

Witcher 3 has all those sex scenes, so why not just a a few drawings instead of a fade to black at the Salty Mast?

Can you guys handle that or is that asking too much? How about more violence instead of sex? Extreme, graphic violence is just fine, but sex is a no no right?

There is plenty of sex appeal in Pillars of Eternity. The fade-to-black scenes do their job adequately in a manner that is conductive to game development. Not all games need Bioware or even CD Projekt Red levels of conveyances (Witcher 2 onward). 

 

For Eothas' sake I had to do some skill balancing in the beginning in order to ensure my pale elf warrior of noble birth could get Iqali as a mistress which, besides making Caed Nua more livable, certainly helps with the massive prestige negative I got from hiring Korgrak the ogre. Now if only I could get the latter one of those ogre cannons from White March...

Look, to be clear the devs are almost certainly not going to follow this type of suggestion, if only because it'd be a foolish thing to do from a business perspective: they'd have to spend money on something with little or no potential for positive return and the possibility of ensuing bad press. This thread isn't a vote (nor could it be), it's you going on about how video games don't provide you with enough pictures of sexy ladies.

 

If you have a real problem with that, you don't need to acquire a consensus, or negotiate for some kind of deal. Hire an artist and code up a mod if you feel so passionately about the subject. But don't expect your critics to be any less critical because you're willing to "meet [them] half way," when they have no stake in coming to an agreement with you.

I dunno, can you handle the lack of titillation in PoE? Can you handle people disagreeing with you on forums?

How about more violence instead of sex?

 

Naw, that's okay. Personally, I feel like PoE could use less violence, too. Especially towards the end game, a lot of the fights just feel as though they were included for the sake of having more fights, rather than to make the game fun. The Burial Isle and Sun In Shadow in particular should be wonderfully atmospheric, but I think the combat just makes them into a drag.

 

Extreme, graphic violence is just fine, but sex is a no no right?

 

In general, or specifically in the case of PoE? Because in general, I'm fine with both, as long as they feel appropriate. There are reasons to include lots of graphic sex and violence in, say, Outlast. But if killing Sly Cyrdel treated you to a CG of head flying off and his entrails on the ground, well, that would be just as out-of-place as an HCG would be.

It's a brothel, titilation is needed to enhance immersion.  Some different music would've been ideal as well.

There is nothing immersion breaking about this:

 

 

Beautful, artistic drawing of a gorgeous, fantastical woman. Completely captures the imagination.  This art style is similar to POE's existing art direction.  Since POE isn't 3D heavy, the next logical step is 2d portraits like the one above.

"scripted interactions," and  I'll concede immediate fade-to-black is a bit of a copout, but how is this something you can get worked up about? Like you said, it's not that big of a deal. I'm suggesting that maybe in a future update, an expansion or even Pillars of Eternity II they consider some artistic drawings of male & female patrons of the brothel to be shown after you sex them, something tasteful that simply enhances immersion.

The art depictions can include male NPC's as well. I mentioned that in the original post.  I think LGB is part of the POE lore, aren't there books that cover this in game?

Slightly off-topic, but a bit of nostalgia about "sexual encounters" in isometric rpgs.  Do you guys/girls remember the first isometric rpg  that had a sex scene?  Ultima 7.5, also known as Ultima 7 part 2: Serpent Isle,  published in 1992.

 

My memory of the details of a game over 22 years ago is somewhat faded, but there was a scene you could get near the end of the game where the Avatar (your character) could have sex with a female mage in New Magincia that you had been flirting with most of the game.  It was a short animated cut scene of the Avatar getting naked and jumping into bed with the mage.  I don't remember anything beyond that, it was just so shocking & funny at the time.  All gloriously depicted on a 15" crt monitor.

 

I believe that to be the first depiction of a "sexual encounter" of the first kind.

I am very much agree with luzarius. It is about immersion. I am kinda bit disappointed too when there is nothing after I had sex with those prostitutes. It's all about taking little things into consideration to make the game more perfect.
