Fighter, cipher, cipher.

 

Fighter full tank, lowest dex and might and maxed per, res, con and almost maxed int.

 

Ciphers (full damage, int) will use on each other tactical mend (just before combat so its free cost) and always focus the same target for free +20 accuracy (it also works for ally target spells like soul shock). They will always start battle with borrowed instinct for another +20 accuracy. Now they will crit like crazy (with spells too) because of that huge +40 acc and generate so much focus they will be able to spam all abilities.

 

I think it would be interesting gonna try it. What do you think?

im not a big fan of ciphers but could work. you are gonna have trouble holding the aggro though, and it only takes one heavy hitter slipping past your warrior to get both ciphers dead. Still if you micro well should be pretty powerful, ive seen a cipher solo the game so anythings possible :p

If heavy hitter get past my fighter he will receive 2x mind plague or other cc. That will be no problem.

Thats why difficulty is important though, PoTD all stats are raised so its much harder to give mobs satus effects, my monk has a knock prone that works maybe a third of the time

Did you even read what I said? 2x mind plague with +40 acc bonus is more then enough...

i have 49 accuracy and i miss more than half the time

It looked like you are trolling.

 

When i look at my accuracy i see 49, 49 for each fist playing monk with peasant specialisation or am i missing somthing and individual spells have accuracy ratings? is 49 not a believeable number?

First of all, no. It is your weapon accuracy. Spells have higher accuracy by default. (you can see spell accuracy at log after you cast spell)

Second. If you read my first post you would see, that my build use 2 spells that give together EXTRA +40 accuracy. That means you would have total 89 weapon accuracy (and even more spell accuracy). Hardly any enemy would dodge it and you would crit most of the time.

How tanky woudl the ciphers be? would they be able to get hit at all or would they rely entirely on charming any mobs that slip through? is the idea full glass cannons protected by full on tank?

I prefer glass cannon build but other builds would work as well because these spells effect would be the same even on tank cipher. Or even better because of +20 deflection this spells give.

ive only played a little with ciphers, do you think you could solo the game with one? If so how would you build it

if you get your deflection high on your cipher, you might consider adding retaliate as a passive talent.

others have said you regain focus on retalliation strikes, which means you cast like you're hasted.  you don't even need to connect with your retaliation.

You mean psychic backlash? It only work on will attacks and just once per encounter.

ah, I looked again. they were talking about using riposte on a cipher (in the rogue retaliation build thread).

I'm now assuming the only way to do that is with the console.

I had recalled seeing "retaliate" among the talents for cipher, but you're right, it's different than riposte.

No, rogue riposte is crap. Psychic backlash is also crap. I was taking about armor or shield with "Retaliation" property. They give you a passive ability to retaliate when attacked in melee (which counts as melee attack for soul whip purposes)

Btw a fullplate cipher is pretty viable. If you use a blunderbuss for range recovery is only a small portion of the attack cycle, so recovery penalty doesn't matter that much. And if you use retaliate armor for melee you're getting much more focus than you could get if attacking yourself. The only thing that's significantly worse is cast speed, but you don't spam spells that much.

Im currently playing on PotD with 2x priest + 2x cipher all wearing heavy armor + shield

 

once you get cipher to lvl 11 and get 6th circle spells it becomes trivial... don't know the name of the spell atm but the cipher one where you deal blunt damage + knockdown everything on screen is pretty nasty. With 2 ciphers and the lightning aura spell thing from the priest you can spam it pretty much the whole fight. 

 

Didn't have any issues so far with the game except the adra dragon ... still don't know how to beat him with that setup...
