HoonDing Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Which Congo, the Democratic Republic or the one on the other side of the river? The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
BruceVC Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I got back from my Africa trip a few hours ago (16 hours ago to be precise) and I have to say it's been a blast. Landed in Congo, spent almost a week there (went out clubbing until 4-5 in the morning 4 days out of 5) before flying to Cape Town (I was there at the same time as Bruce, I had no idea) to party some more. Went to Cape Point, hiked up Table mountain, swam in the ridiculously cold water and had lots and lots of good food, beer and gir.. fun. I mean fun. The air B'n'b we rented turned out to be the apartment of a 25 year old fitness girl. She brought over her friends and invited us to a tequila party (she works at an ad agency and her client sells tequila so she had unlimited amounts). That became one of the best party's I've ever been to. Crazy good times. But now I need rest. Vacationing is haaard. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, Cape Town is awesome. I am flying back to Joburg tomorrow night South African girls are good fun, its great you had an opportunity to party...I looooove Tequila "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead" - Nelson Mandela

BruceVC Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Ek hou van Boer meisies. That is correct Afrikaans and it is different to Dutch on certain levels How would you say that in Dutch? Raithe Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I haven't made it down to South Africa yet, just hopped around West Africa a bit. I still have fond memories of visiting Sierra Leone and Freetown when I was a kid. Which made it very bizarre to see it on the news during the civil war and go "Hey, I walked down that street and had a picture taken in front of that tree that has all the dead bodies next to it..." 1 "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
LadyCrimson Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Spent the last hour with a cat's face resting/drooling on my chin, enduring a bit o' pain as he claw-hugged the sides of my face the whole time. In another life, he was an Alien face-hugger. 1 “Things are as they are. Woldan Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 (edited) Weeks ago I caught a wooden splinter from a board which embedded itself deep in my right side and while I'm 100% certain that I completely removed it I got a very strange local infection that would neither get worse nor better. Been to the doc but not even his best prescription antiseptics worked. Today I finally lost my patience, took my pocket knife, disinfected it and cut out that infected junk of flesh. Feels much better now, I should not have waited so long. Edited April 16, 2015 by Woldan I gazed at the dead, and for one dark moment I saw a banquet.
LadyCrimson Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Post count. New adventures await. “Things are as they are. Looking out into the universe at night, we make no comparisons between right and wrong stars, nor between well and badly arranged constellations.” – Alan Watts
