Does Tamriel Unlimited require a subscription to play?

Edit: And after asking, I see it say it does not.

You are correct, sir. It does not but this offer does come with I think a 15 day premium status though I couldn't tell you what that gives off the top of my head.

I played ESO in the beta. It's an ok game if you play TES for the story, I guess. Personally I'd be more interested in the Morrowind expansion, but I see people only rarely talk about it, so I guess it's just ok-ish too.

The Morrowind expansion was great, it really captured the feel of the region. I'd say the game is worth a visit. It still has the best crafting system in any MMO to date. Vanguard excluded, but that really was more of a crafting game than an MMO.

ESO is fun to play, I still get on almost everyday.

I'm still baffled how a gem Killing Floor 2 is still not taken after all this time.

Well, Shady has more of the stuff than Killing Floor, that I would be interested to play/try, but for me, Steam is too big price to pay even for free game *shrugs*

I absolutely hated SWTOR. I think I just really dislike MMOs.

I remember, I think it was the Gault part of the Bounty Hunter story that was the final nail in the SWTOR coffin for you. I don't blame you, I didn't like the BH story very much either. But yeah, MMOs are a different beast and even though SWTOR was trying to be KOTOR 3-whatever the MMOness of it was hard to overcome.

Hmm there's still some gems in there. I just have to be bothered to find them.

if you enjoyed Oblivion you'll probably like TESO. the thing about it is, unless you completely bork up your character, all content, save for missions specifically designed for groups, can be soloed. and the world is huge, I've hit the level cap months ago, and I've only seen 30% of the map. there's so much content, I'd need years to experience all of it. and that's without DLCs

So that's a no for me, then. The number 1 complaint I had with Oblivion was the level scaling. I got sick of killing myself trying to sneak attack clanfears in the midgame or finding bandits who could take like a dozen sneak attacks in late game. I also really got disappointed in how the only loot that wasn't leveled was the iron junk laying around.

Also the whole thieving aspect of ESO is very well done. I mean it really does play like a massive online version of all the ES games at this point, for better or worse.

On Shady's list there are some great titles if that is your genre: Wargame, Furi, Endless Legend, borderlines, GalCIv, Rebel Galaxy. There may be some more, but i dont know all titles.
