Scottish Independence?

You guys should insist on devolution. May be you'll wind up with the kind of Federalism that's supposedly guaranteed by our Constitution. In related news, a significant percentage of Americans would like to secede: http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKBN0HE19U20140919?irpc=932

The idea of secession has really skyrocketed recently. It'll never happen, but it is weird.
There's a part of me that would find England saying "Oh, you've decided our money's too good to turn your back on? Well I'm sorry, but we've decided that we want to go it alone, so enjoy working out how you're going to pay for Wales." quite amusing. Edited by Kroney

if i was from scotland, i would vote no... realistically speaking, they had nothing to gain from spliting up from the rest of UK

The words freedom and liberty, are diminishing the true meaning of the abstract concept they try to explain. The true nature of freedom is such, that the human mind is unable to comprehend it, so we make a cage and name it freedom in order to give a tangible meaning to what we dont understand, just as our ancestors made gods like Thor or Zeus to explain thunder.

What? You thought it was a quote from some well known wise guy from the past?

Stupidity leads to willful ignorance - willful ignorance leads to hope - hope leads to sex - and that is how a new generation of fools is born!

We are hardcore role players... When we go to bed with a girl, we roll a D20 to see if we hit the target and a D6 to see how much penetration damage we did.

Modern democracy is: the sheep voting for which dog will be the shepherd's right hand.

In honour of the greatest Scotsman of all time

How anyone could have a problem with gay people after listening to queen is beyond me.

Born in Zanzibar and raised in West London. A workmate of mine used to live near his dad's house.

An unintended but delicious consequence of this farrago is watching the execrable Ed Miliband try to justify why Scots in a devolved parliament should have votes on purely English matters. It might have something to do with the 40-plus MPs he has up there, and who he needs to win a UK election, but he's been led into an elephant trap of epic proportions.

Just how I feel about California.

It's ok, we just feed you.

And contribute greatly to GDP. And contribute more tax dollars than they receive.

In fact, if we were going to describe an area of the US that gets lots of handouts from the federal government compared to what it puts in, we would be looking at the Deep South before the East Coast.
