The Eternity Showcase Character Enrichment Thread

Hello, and welcome to the Eternity Showcase Character Enrichment Thread. Perhaps one day you were walking on the street or doing whoever knows what, and thinking of the standard thing (Pillars of Eternity, of course!), and you got a really cool idea for your main character. This is the thread where you try to delve back into your memories and bring out the amazingness you dreamt up on a whim. Furthermore, if you need ideas or just want people to see the glory you have invented, then this is the place! Indeed, the Eternity Showcase Character Enrichment Thread is just that! A thread where you showcase your character to enrich them.
 
Some of you may ask "But random guy who just made his second post, isn't PE just too young for us to start? We just don't know enough about the world!", or perhaps, the primeval, "Your thread sucks!" this may be true, but remember that the way a character is made (I.E. At the beginning of the game) no one technically knows anything about the story anyway, so any such casus belli is futile. This thread isn't only for those who have made a full character complete with a genealogy and biography to boot, but also those who just have an interesting character concept that they want to share, or perhaps a rough-around the edges character they've been using since pen and paper. Anything goes here, so long as your character isn't uber haxor l33t and all that nonsense. Nobody likes a 'perfect' character. I'm looking at you Godlike players. (I kid, I kid)
 
So, where do we all start? I'm sure you all got your thinking caps on and your keyboards ready to be mashed with all the keyboard warrior skills you have acquired on this forum. Well, the only place TO start is to sneak off to another forum filled with PnP enthusiasts trying their hand at a virtual approach to their madness, and requisition a character template for you guys to use.

 

It is important to reiterate that this template is entirely optional, and only serves to help you guys organize a befuddled mind in need. Some of these options aren't even available to use yet, for instance, a complete list of deities or languages is simply not present. That's fine, we'll get that as-we-go, we can do without until those are a thing. Hopefully this thread will last until PE releases, and maybe longer.

Befuddled minds, great-cat druids, Dyrwoodans with hobbies ... all of these groups face an imminent sunset to their mortal existence. My dark paladin ... who has yet to reveal a moniker, grandiosely fear-inducing though it must surely be ... is on the precipice of laying waste to the Aedyr Empire. Bleak Walking has never been more ominous on the wind.

 

His magnificence is rumored to be death godlike, both in race and intent. Night-blue plate armor protects his darkness from pitiful piercing attempts, wrapped in inextinguishable Flames of Devotion. From a distance, cowering foes are beheaded, then crushed under the massive weight of an enchanted poleaxe. Up close and so personal as to smell the leather and blood in their final act, whimpering fools are ended by a double-bladed sabre.

 

Disposition is inexplicably, equally Cruel and Rational, except in the appearance of Sworn Enemy great-cat druids, wherein an Aggressive bent lasts exactly as long as the life of the druid.

 

Sleep, now, monarchy to the Aedyr ... dream the last dream before the sun shines its last ...

Race: Human

Age: about 25 winters

Height: Average

Eyes: Two (Brown)

Hair: Long and possibly dreaded

Facial Hair Style: Clean Shaven, Thick-Eyebrows

 

Personality Profile:

General Health: Well, he smells like a Druid, but he's in good health

Deity: Will have to see which one fits a druid best.

Initial Alignment: Vertical (PoE doesn't have alignments as such but he'll be closest to Chaotic Good)

Profession: Woodsman

Base Class & Proposed Development:  Druid - specialising in Spirit-shifts - I like that Stag-form

Habits/Hobbies:  Likes collecting acorns for some reason.  He strings them on a necklace

Languages: Fluent in the calls of the wild and Glanfathan

Weapon of Choice: Staves or Spears, maybe a short-bow for ranged.

 

Background:  Raised by a small group of druids to understand the necessary balance of nature.  Left when he was old enough to understand the wider world.  ... wait, that's boring... he left because the druid-clan were eaten by bears. ... yes, that's better - now he wants to figure out if they ever knew diddly about balance and nature or were just too dumb to stay away from bears.

 

Goals: Oh, he wants to grow in power so he can help people (especially if they're in danger of being eaten by bears).

 

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:

He looks like my avatar.  He will immediately challenge anyone who is throwing rocks at bears.  He is afraid of spiders, ever since one dropped on his head as a child, and is unable to fight anyone else until all of the 8-legged vermin have been eradicated, preferably with fire.

I was honestly just going to ignore this based on the tl;dr, but you're self-aware of what you're doing so now we're in a whole other ballgame.

 

I will make every character of every sex, race and class. Rolling characters is my methamphetamine. I will not be satisfied. Ever.

Background: An itinerant scholar from a lesser noble house, seeking forgotten knowledge of the ancients. He is also disappointed by what he perceives to be his society's injustices and seeks to rectify such whenever he can.

Goals: Following the main plot of the game while learning as much as he can and helping as many people as possible. (Same as real life, I guess. )

Deity: Follower of Ladangshan. Family was seen to spport the clergy of Hezeng Although that's considered proper for wealthy Vailian merchant families.
Initial Alignment: sociable, inquisitive, calculating, frank, ruthless, but not merciless. Racist against whatever ethnicity is most commonly trafficked on Vailian slave markets.
Profession: Caravan Guard
Base Class & Proposed Development: Rogue, focus on intellect and perception.
Habits/Hobbies: Listening to and telling stories, practises dagger kata each morning.
Languages: Vailian and Glanfanthan
Weapon of Choice: Dual Daggers, with a pistol back-up

Background:

Vailian slaver's daughter in exile,

Goals: Return to the glory days of a successful business empire and impressive merchant fleet, reclaiming lost lands and possessions in Vailia and eliminating every last mother-****er who outmanoeuvred her family and made them exiles. (AKA revenge)

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: Was set to take over her fathers trade when their political enemies conspired against them and their fleet and stock was confiscated or sunk, and she had to flee the Vailian empire or face a showtrial and execution. Growing up as a wealthy slavers' daughter, is not opposed to slavery and has had to adjust to rough living. Loves her creature comforts and strongly believes she will return to the life she deserves one day.
