I don't need anything big and fancy but something simple like this would work for a crpg of this style. I use to play Ultima Online back in the day and I loved it.

Switching to Paypal means that more of your money will go towards Project Eternity. (The more you know.)

Paypal charges .30 cents per transaction and 2.2% for anything over 100,000 per month for U.S currency. Other currency is different, ranging from anywhere between 2.2-4.9%.

Kick Starter is a fixed 5% charge at the end.

I'm pretty sure that at least one of the big cities are going to be on water. 2 if we're lucky and hit the last stretch goal. After all, pretty much any really big city has access to the sea. And the map of the continent that they released is surrounded by water. Sure, it's not an island chain. But it still seems like a pretty obvious aspect of gameplay to exploit. Shipping/merchant travel between cities and towns would be tempting targets for pirate attack.

 

I'd really like to see what they could do with a giant sea monster attack too. Tentacles crawling over the ship. Melee characters hacking them off with mages cauterizing the wounds. We see this stuff a ton in movies. Not so much in games nowadays.

Ship battles would be pretty cool. I'd pay for an RPG ship battling game. But, I really don't think it has any place in P:E.

They could do it easily enough without going overboard (get it?). Remember in BG2 when your ship gets attacked by those Gith looking for their sword back or something.

 

Do maps like that except with 2 ships side by side connected by planks, or have ropes on the deck that you click to "swing" across (it just moves you to the other deck).

 

They could be random pirate events or part of a larger story of rival city naval warfare.

 

The ships don't have to move or anything complicated like that.

Exactly. It's not necessary to have a large time/money consuming element added to the game this way. It'd just be one of the cool scenario's that would play out during the story.

Actually, I was hoping ships were mostly zoning to a selection screen, a cut scene, and then arrival at an area.

But yet again, 1st person rpgs aren't really.
