Yawn inducing.

Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra

The Last of Us "gameplay" was kinda disappointing, because, there was hardly any gameplay there.

More gameplay than in SW1313.

Uhm...nope? They didn't even fully reveal SW1313 yet. That was just a tidbit what they showed (cutscene stuff).

But as for TLOU, that was all one staged cutscene, sold as "gameplay". Difference.

And how exactly did you manage to notice, what was in this trailer gameplay footage and what was just cinematics. Can you teach me this magical ability as well?

Please watch again, and then come back and apologize.

Really, this whole thing was so heavily scripted, even Uncharted looks like a 100% interactive free-roam simulator. There weren't even any button prompts for any of these actions. Oh and how conveniently Elly was just throwing something into the face of that guy, at the right time, standing coincidentally at the right spot.

If you can't distinguish a real cutscene from some fake-E3 staged "gameplay" footage, then maybe you shouldn't talk big here.

Watch Dogs gameplay footage.

Who needs those Next Gen consoles yet?

Probably Day 1 purchase too.

Holy crap, that looks good!

FINALLY and open world game set in (almost) contemporary times! Wow. Please let this be good!

I don't see what's so good in Watch Dogs..

The demo looks really good, but it also looks really staged so, who knows? The idea of hacking with your cellphone, including stuff like traffic lights, honestly isn't bad at all. It might not be risky or boldy, but you certainly can't deny it looks interesting.

I dunno, after all the wowed posts here I expected something better than blasting a guys phone because he can't be arsed to just walk past him (tho thinking back, I realise the bouncer(?) wouldn't have let him in anyway I guess?), and cause a traffic accident and deaths because he can't wait for the guy who was coming to "meet" him in the first place to arrive.

So yeah, interesting, I just don't get all the wows.

And the apparently seamless insertion of coop, so that you main player is doing the story while the others are covering him from nearby rooftops etc, possibly without the first guy even knowing

Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.

Also quite ballsy of Ubisoft to eve launch a new IP so late in the current console cycle. But I suppose a lot of R&D made for this tech will also flow directly into the Next Gen stuff. They showed the PC version there, granted, but holy moly....

Also makes sense why Ubi Montreal got tired of Splinter Cell and handed it over to Toronto.

That does sound cool.

You should heed your own advice. You're talking bull****. But then again, that's all you ever do anyway.

Someone obviously getting a little bit too emotional here again.

Square-Enix' Next-Gen engine, or how they think it's gonna look on Next-Gen consoles (runs in Realtime, on high-end PC):

Take that footage, apply 720p with nice huge-ass jaggies, 30 fps (moar like ~24 fps), lots of blur and capped visibility, and you might get something like that on NextGen consoles. That is, if everything is well optimized and the hardware maxed-out. And as we all know by know, you won't get that earlier than ~3-4 years into the console life cycle.

Okay, just watched that whole Beyond: Two Souls...."gameplay" video.

What the hell.

I'm shocked. It's even less interactive than Heavy Rain. But what bothered me most was that the ghost entitiy could just pick one SWAT dude after another, taking them out with ease, without the rest of the team mates reacting accordingly. I didn't see any possibility for failing there. At least in HR you could fail, but here?

Big kudos however on the technology.

This has been the most uninteresting E3 ever for me. Almost every game I'm interested in was already revealed or leaked before the show.

I was happy to see the South Park trailer and Dishonored gameplay. These were the most interesting games for me pre-E3, and they look like day 1 buys for me.

There were other games I was interested in, but there wasn't anything shown that changed my buying decision.

Having seen South Park I'm willing to give it a go (depening on what else is around at the time) otherwise nothing new, or too distant to worry much about. SE's demo was interesting, it's about the same leap from the PS3 as the PS3 was from the PS2. Last of Us , goes without saying looks like everything I expected it to be from the first trailer. Although I was expecting something more zombie like maybe. Definately picking that one up.

E3 is now just one of many. I probably paid more attention to the Tokyo show since news is harder to come by.
