Expostulation of the day

Used a few seconds ago to address formatting shenanigans in Open Office:

 

"What in the name of blue sparking f*** keeps doing that?"

My usual reaction to Microsoft Excel, despite having used it on a daily basis for years.

My intent was not to highlight Open Office, but rather the degree of inventive swearing extreme situations trigger.

 

Do you have a preferred phrase, Gorgo?

I usually perform violence on the keyboard.

I rarely swear, except that one time when I kicked a cobblestone and split a toe nail. Instead I can be pretty blunt in my responses and assessment of things.

When I swear I don't really think of what I'm saying, it just comes out. Recently I threw out "holy pus explosion", though.

I come from the land of Swearing...in Spanish. But we do curse like champs, I also know how to swear in Italian although I don't know how to speak Italian. Go figure,

but i'm already getting my expostulation (what a mouthful) from me mum who has taken to screaming every time I curse. Nothing can beat classical conditioning.

My first couple years as a teacher there were a couple slip ups, but usually it was 'crap' or 'pain in the ass' instead of the big ones. It made the kids gasp, which was pretty funny

Having a lady scream at banshee pitch whenever you swore would be awesome. Like the cannons in the 1812 overture.

 

I also like 'holy pus explosion', for the Batman reference if nothing else.

I swear far too much. My current tactic is to make up swear words that translate to the actual English one but only I know that, either that or try to be less angry.
