Heh. Anyways, onto topic. F3 was decided and my fave Haley Reinhart actually made it. This gal was supposed to be voted off weeks ago but is still kickin' butt despite the judges trying to throw her under the bus every week. And, every week she continues to get stronger as her fanbase grows larger. Ms. Reinhart likely won't win against the two country based contestant s(or sold but no Haley); but she deserves kudos for getting much farther so this is my pimp thread for her. Some will likely claim I like Haley and her popularity comes stricktly from her looks byut plenty of gorgeous ladies have been on this show and I gladly say they suck. I watched it for a few years. Lost interest when Cowell left tho. I tried, but without his "mean" wit & interactions w/the others I find AI kind of boring. Such shows have so much boring fluff filler that if the judges don't work for you, it's hard to watch for long. imo. Sometimes I watch the singer-only clips on YT but that's about it now. I'm liking The Voice a lot more at the moment. It still has a lot of filler but just nice to see something a bit different from AI I guess. I'm sure I'll get bored of it before long...it was mostly the blind auditions I liked so much, + Adam & Blake are funny. “Things are as they are. If you wanna see mean judging though, watch the AI judges with Haley. They don't like her as much as the other contestants for some reason. To me it's like the difference between, say, Janis & Whitney. Which is not to say that I think Vicci actually compares to the legendary Janis (not even close). I'm just saying I prefer raw energy to polish, overdone vocal run type stuff, and vanilla staging. eg, I find Haley boring/doesn't evoke any emotion. Just my opinion tho. The current US "diva" type of singing generally leaves me cold, even as I can respect/admire the technical polish of it. Maybe it feels too artificial/fake so it doesn't hit me emotionally? Other than that, it's probably more the style a singer sings in. Singers/music like , or Enya & Natalie Merchant are more likely to grab me, for instance. Haley does have a bit of throaty"growl" to some of her notes, which is all right. She's a little volume-weak in certain ranges and the "glory notes" put me to sleep tho. Vicci sounded pretty good, imo, during the battleround. Her funky weird "war dance" is endearing, too. lol “Things are as they are. My major problem with both Scotty and Lauren is while they have good voices, it's just so bland and unmemorable. With Haley, I instantly recognize her voice. Her first song was awesome. I'm no Led Zepllin fan but outside of the fall (I hope it doesn't cost her votes). This was yet another moment for her - espicially having daddy on stage with her. Rhiannon was beautiful, and Haley looked and sounded beautiful during this performance. Otherwordly is the only way it can be described. Haley's 'You Outta Know' was uneven. Some aprts she was fantastic.. others not so much. Probably her weakest effort in a month + but still good. She did mumble some words so that's bad but love her getting in Randy's face. L0L bet he was scared. Haley's ratings tonight: 9 (points deduicted for falling), 9.8, and 7 . I hope it doesn't cost her a finals spot that her worst performance came last so freshest on people's mind when voting. The other two I'll just give them 5s because I just don't remember their performances. Just not memorable. utube links for Haley's songs for those who care... Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Jennifer Hudson are all legitimate successes, and there are a ton more that have released more than one successful album after appearing on Idol.
