October 3, 201015 yr It gets 5 out of 5 stars on GoG.com and I can see why. It's awesome. Dunno quite how to describe it. Suffice to say it should entice any RPG, RTS, or turn-based fans. http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/age_of_wonders Go buy it! $6 and DRM-free! It's from 1999 but the graphics and interface are way better than I expected.
October 3, 201015 yr It's sort of a cousin to Heroes of Might and Magic III and Disciples II I might still have the box lying around here somewhere... Edit: I seem to remember that the game mechanics were fun, but the level design never really appealed to me, so it got stashed away in a big cardboard box and forgotten. “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. October 3, 201015 yr Author seemed a really poor attempt at making a fantasy copy of civalisation 2 That's probably because you hit 'Automatic' on every battle instead of 'Tactical'. Tactical combat opens up a whole new other game with Baldur's Gate-like combat in turn-based mode that is completely missed by going Automatic. It's absolutely nothing like Civ if you avoid Automatic fights.
October 3, 201015 yr Yeh, it's an awesome game (my favourite path was Keepers -> Lizardmen -> Highmen), but the sequels are terrible. There used to be a very vibrant community as well, with tons of fan-made adventures. Also one of the best video game soundtracks. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
October 3, 201015 yr I missed this one too, and was equally impressed, there really is no excuse if you're into that kinds thing. I came up with Crate 3.0 technology. Crate 4.0 - we shall just have to wait and see.Down and out on the Solomani RimNow the Spinward Marches don't look so GRIM!
October 3, 201015 yr I think i played the second one a little ten years ago or so, but I'll try this one. Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
October 3, 201015 yr I have Shadow Magic as well but remember nothing of it. Not unusual in itself - to say that I've played over half the games I own for less than an hour each would be no exaggeration. I do remember it was just about the last game I bought which came in a big box ....which contained a little box - presumably just dropping the US release version into a bigger box with the Oz ratings label on it. Unfortunately I think I left it at my parents' place so no access right now, unfortunate since I've got a lot of time on my hands right now after quitting MMO raiding and it being a long weekend.
