GreasyDogMeat Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Ok... this is pretty pathetic. http://xboxlive.ign.com/articles/107/1079073p1.html Paying so a chick will talk to you over a mic while playing a game... really? Then again, there are a lot of 13 years out there with M$ points & PS points... this 'service' might actually take off...
Orogun01 Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 (edited) Ok... this is pretty pathetic. http://xboxlive.ign.com/articles/107/1079073p1.htmlPaying so a chick will talk to you over a mic while playing a game... really? Then again, there are a lot of 13 years out there with M$ points & PS points... this 'service' might actually take off... Why would I pay a girl to talk to me when I'm gaming when I have a good family nagging me about responsibility and me being a bum. I need that money for therapy instead BTW, is there any confirmation on whether you can play "those" japanese games with them Edited March 23, 2010 by Orogun01 I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.
213374U Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 I don't like where this is headed. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
Gorth Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Not enough money to be made from DLC's? Probably just a question of time before the first virtual "escort service" popped up. “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Orogun01 Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 I do love how they say that the charges are the equivalent to what a guy would spend on drinks at a bar and are shameless enough to say that the intent is to talk to girl instead of getting them drunk I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.
Humodour Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 See what I do is find a hot gamer chick and play next to her. So much sexier.
I want teh kotor 3 Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 They make those? In 7th grade, I teach the students how Chuck Norris took down the Roman Empire, so it is good that you are starting early on this curriculum. R.I.P. Slowtrain Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Not enough money to be made from DLC's? The entire gaming scene appears to be turning into one giant corporate money suck. It's really pretty gross. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that.
Killian Kalthorne Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Do you prefer them to go from suck to blow? "Your Job is not to die for your country, but set a man on fire, and take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe."

jaguars4ever Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Which is still plenty of time for a gamer whore to transmit a virus while she pings your D-Link. Remember guys: Use a firewall before you play!
Killian Kalthorne Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 I just cannot imagine someone so desperate to actually pay for something like this. "Your Job is not to die for your country, but set a man on fire, and take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe."
WorstUsernameEver Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 I just cannot imagine someone so desperate to actually pay for something like this. Cannot imagine someone so desperate to proclaim his/her love to a comic book character, but apparently they exist. So no surprise whatsoever here.

Killian Kalthorne Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Isn't that Alexei Sayle from Revelation of the Daleks? "Your Job is not to die for your country, but set a man on fire, and take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe."
Gorth Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 I just cannot imagine someone so desperate to actually pay for something like this. There are people who pay for crpgs just because they have "romances" in them... You do the math “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
Killian Kalthorne Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 (edited) Just because they have romances? That is disturbing. I just consider them as an added bonus if they fit with the story. A real drag if not. mkreku Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Paying girls to have sex with them is pretty sad.. but paying girls to GAME with them.. is there even a word for that? I don't think our vocabulary is ready for the new depths to which we have sunk. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
HoonDing Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Paying girls to have sex with them is pretty sad.. but paying girls to GAME with them.. is there even a word for that? I don't think our vocabulary is ready for the new depths to which we have sunk. Considering how some of the girls on that site look... paying them is doing them a favor. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
213374U Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Paying girls to have sex with them is pretty sad..To you it may be sad... after some number crunching, to me, it's quick and effective! At any rate, you can't pay for DLC with social skills and a nice smile! Take that, suckas! - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
Amentep Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 As long as the person paying feels they're getting something worth the money they paid, then *shrugs* I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man
Slowtrain Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 As long as the person paying feels they're getting something worth the money they paid, then *shrugs* Or one could consider it as taking advantage of all the lonely people in world by a bunch of money-ravenous suits who don't give a **** about anything except how much cash they can wring out of someone. Which pretty much appears to be the evolving state of gaming, looking at all the drms and forced registrations and bit and pieces DLC and charge-for demos and whatever other money-grubbing nonesense is going on. Just because there's really nothing we can do about it, doesn't mean it should all pass unremarked upon. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. Amentep Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Or one could consider it as taking advantage of all the lonely people in world by a bunch of money-ravenous suits who don't give a **** about anything except how much cash they can wring out of someone. Except I think that that's a separate issue - companies don't have to prey on the lonely to be full of money-ravenous suits who only care about the money they can wring from others. But there are many companies and individuals that provide service to the lonely; I'm not sure that its necessarily a negative thing provided the lonely person is getting something that, for them, they feel is worth the money they paid. Just because there's really nothing we can do about it, doesn't mean it should all pass unremarked upon. Didn't say it shouldn't be commented on, just that in my opinion as long as the customer feels that they're receiving reciprocity vis a vis what they get vs the money they paid then I'm not going to pass a value judgment on the business anymore than I would "web-cam girls" or "dating services". I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man
