The best thing the world could do for Africa is to stop giving them aid. It doesn't seem to aid the problem, more that it just kinda prolongs it.

Shh. In a world where guilt manipulation makes and breaks governments (which de facto establishes that emotion > reason in the field of management and problem solving), that's a no-no.

Probably I can see how a Somali, forced to choose between starvation and piracy on the high seas, would obviously choose piracy--in fact I'm pretty sure I'd do the same. I'm sympathetic to the plight and would be right up until I became one of their victims in which case I'd say exterminate the brutes like every good hypocrite.

They are in fact thoroughly interrelated. Communism, however, tends to make its cultists feel so high and mighty because they're so giving. I do walk past beggars. My government already takes too much of my money to give to them anyway.
