March 13, 200916 yr Author I already ordered Metroid Prime. Based on that we'll see how well FPS games work on the DS. Not that there are many interesting out there. How is Age of Empires: Mythologies? It gets some good scores... Rain makes everything better.

It gets some good scores... Metroid is so-so, but FPSs just don't work with the stylus. You can either look around or press the buttons, not both at once. It's horribly clumsy. If you don't like any of the genres that I have suggested, why not got with classics like The New Super Mario Bros and Mario Kart DS? They are really good. As for homebrew, System Shock isn't unfortunately ported. Descent, Doom 1/2, Quake 1, however are along with a great NES and a pretty decent SNES emulators and even ScummVM. March 13, 200916 yr Yeah, stay away from DS FPS games. Really? I'd heard they worked well. 'Work well', for a system which uses a dpad and a freaking stylus. Morgie is a PC apologist, he can probably find other genres he can play on DS. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
March 13, 200916 yr Author Adventures are just too slow and boring, so I'll stay away from those, no matter on what platform. I've to think about FF and Chrono Trigger. Right now there are plenty other options that don't look so..ugh. Rain makes everything better.

If you want strategy without anime stuff, get Advance Wars. There's also Theme Park DS and Sim City DS. Also, the Castlevanias are pretty good and if you want crazy ADD action, get Geometry Wars, Edited March 13, 200916 yr by Purkake
March 13, 200916 yr This thread reminds me that I need to grow some balls and get my DS repaired. Any of you guys have experience with that?
March 13, 200916 yr Author There's a youtube video somewhere that features how to completely disassemble a DS. Rain makes everything better.
March 13, 200916 yr I'd heard good things about AoE: Mythology. Forget AoE: Age of Kings; apparently it's pretty buggy. I've ignored both since people seem to generally view Advance Wars as better. Also, if you have any plans on getting a stylus-intensive game, get screen protectors. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)

March 13, 200916 yr I'm not crazy. Then grow some ballz. Aww man this **** is easy only fools pay for repairs! What does this shiny thing do? BOOM.

Wasn't too big a fan of GW Galaxies, but that probably to do with me liking GeoWars2 on 360 and dual analog controls a whole lot more. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
March 13, 200916 yr The first Castlevania DS game was one of the best portable games I've ever played. Highly recommended, if you like those kind of games. Matthew Rorie
March 13, 200916 yr There's a GTA game coming out for the DS in a few weeks. I'd wait for that. Also Professor Layton and the Curious Village is a great game. I think that was its name Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
March 14, 200916 yr There's a GTA game coming out for the DS in a few weeks. I'd wait for that. I really liked the look of that. Linky to trailer. Edited March 14, 200916 yr by Moatilliatta
March 14, 200916 yr Author Looks like the first GTA. I'll buy that as a bargain. Rain makes everything better.
March 14, 200916 yr Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword is great. The stylus controls were intuitive and the game plays really fast and fluid. I personally like New Super Mario Bros, which is fun in little bursts between work/classes. I also liked Super Mario 64 on DS. I thought it played great and brought back some fond memories. I've played two of the Castlevania games and those are always fun, though they start to feel the same after a while. I found the Phoenix Wright games enjoyable. I liked yelling 'Objection!' along with the game.... I'm not a great fan of JRPGs myself, but I've always heard that Chrono Trigger was great, so I am playing now. I have to say it is pretty enjoyable. There are no random battle sequences that jolt you out of the map so that was a huge plus for me. Enemies do respawn constantly, but you can avoid them if you're quick enough. The characters aren't too annoyingly cliche and I find myself liking Crono and his friends. The gameplay/battles are actually pretty fast, and you can combine each individual character's special moves into dual tech moves which are fun to watch and are over quickly. The story is a pretty standard save the world from the GREAT EVIL, but with the time traveling and history changing that goes on, it has been really fun. I would recommend it.
March 14, 200916 yr Author I totally forgot about the original Resident Evil. I'm so gonna get that. Rain makes everything better.
March 14, 200916 yr I'd recommend Zelda: Phantom Hourglass if it wasn't for that one temple that's insanely annoying. "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"
March 15, 200916 yr Chrono Trigger for the DS is epic. "Well, overkill is my middle name. And my last name. And all of my other names as well!"
March 15, 200916 yr Ultimate Mortal Kombat, basically just a port of Mortal Kombat 3 Arcade with Puzzle Kombat added to it, is incredibly entertaining for those times you need to wait for your scene to render or code to compile. Also a game that's entertaining to play at just about any time is N+. There hasn't been a platformer this amusing since the days of the NES. And is it a crime to mention Pok Edited March 15, 200916 yr by TrueNeutral
March 16, 200916 yr GTA: Chinatown Wars for DS review: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/grand-th...own-wars-review 10/10! Now *I* want to play it too! Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
March 17, 200916 yr I too am sold on a game for which Eurogamer has given 10/10. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
