Guard Dog Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/...team-is?cnn=yes Looks like the Cowboys are still "Americas" team. I can't believe the Eagles finished #3. Ugh. I'd put them at next to last, just above the Raiders. I can't believe the Eagles finished #3. Ugh. I'd put them at next to last, just above the Raiders. Dumb poll question. They didn't ask people what their favorite team was-- they asked what "America's favorite team" was. Of course Dallas is going to win that one-- most people who don't follow the sport closely probably still remember the whole "America's team" marketing nonsense. In other news, it has bee 4,667 days since the last time the Cowboys won a playoff game.

I didn't have much of a preference coming into that one, but by the end, I was glad that Miami managed the comeback. I'd have hated to have seen the game decided by that awful pass interference call that essentially gave the Jets their last TD.

Enoch Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Anyone want to make a bet that Brady Quinn finishes the year in Washington? Also the Buccaneers are getting that elusive first win this weekend, I can feel it! You may be right about the Bucs, but I can't see the Redskins trading for Quinn. Also, in case we needed any other examples of the Browns being a poorly run organization, here's a model of how not to run a NFL franchise: trade up to draft a QB in the first round, give him a grand total of 6 NFL starts with terrible teammates to develop and assess his performance, then try to trade him away when his value has never been lower. That means one of two things: either you're not giving the guy nearly enough of a chance (how did Drew Brees or Eli Manning or Donovan McNabb look after 6 freakin' starts?), or you were completely insane to think that the guy was worth the draft investment in the first place.

Guard Dog Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Houston at Cincinnati: Texans are weak defending the run, Bengals are 3rd in rushing. Nuff said. Bengals win Detroit at Green Bay: Packers ha O-line problems are are leading the league in sacks. But the Lions are dead last in sacks so it's ok. Packers win. Baltimore at Minnesota: The two teams match up dead even in all stats. This one is hard to pick. Ravens win NY Giants at New Orleans: Better defense carries the Giants. Giants win Cleveland at Pittsburgh: Not going to be close. Steelers win. Carolina at Tampa Bay: Bucs get that firs W. Buccaneers win. KC Chiefs at Washington: Too close to get a feel. Chiefs win St. Louis at Jacksonville: Jags are a little better off than the hapless Rams. Jaguars win. Arizona at Seattle: Cardinals turn it areound starting this week. Cardinals win Philadelphia at Oakland: Raiders misery continues. Eagles win Tennessee at New England: Patriots should walk. Patriots win. Buffalo at NY Jets: Jets are looking to rbound, Bills are just looking. Jets win. Chicago at Atlanta: I don't know about this one, it depends on which bears team shows up. Falcons win Denver at San Diego: Sorry Chargers but the ponies are for real. Broncos win.
