Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that.

Rebellion created the first AvP game, and that was their best project to date. Otherwise it's seems they've a rather weak portfolio.

Make it like AvP2 and I'll be all over that. Except I probably won't play the marine campaign, because it is too scary. I just hope that they won't dumb it down too much for the consoles and give PC the shaft. Probably gonna be better than the Colonial Marines game with quicktime events...

A new AvP game to be released in 2010 will be the first to launch in Aliens franchise games?

Aww.. That means the Alien RPG is set later in 2010. >_<

Fortune favors the bald.

. I just hope that they won't dumb it down too much for the consoles and give PC the shaft.

But that is pretty much a given. AT least in terms of the difficulty of the combat.

btw, its not dumbing down. it's streamlining.

Which always reminds me of Full Metal Jacket: It is no longer "search and destroy"; it is "sweep and clear". lol. >_<

Sweep and clear it is then.

I would actually like to know how they are going to improve the Alien gameplay. I totally loved the AvP 2 alien campaign. It was so refreshing to have no guns and start out as a facehugger and advance on from there. I loved climbing in vents and overhearing conversations(kinda like NOLF). I also loved the wallclimbing, but it was horribly disorienting and the little arrow didn't really help. Maybe they will get some hints from Mirror's Edge? About time something good came out of that.

I want Rebellion to stay true to their own roots. Meaning that they shouldn't try to pull an (excellent) AvP2 because in doing that they'll fail. Make it better hard, fast, hysterical like the first one, and I might end up liking it.

I do consider 3 games released within a year of each other all based on (basically) the same IP to be betting the house!

Not that I'm against it. At least 2 of these 3 games (and probably all 3) will succeed wildly, each proping up the other, and no doubt all benefiting from the upcoming movie (because you don't do something like this without a movie far behind).

I know I plan to buy all 3 simply because each one is appealing by itself.

Hmmm: "On December 5th 2008 Sigourney Weaver hinted in an interview with MTV that she and Ridley Scott are working on an Alien spinoff film which will focus on the chronicles of Ellen Ripley rather than the Aliens."

Umm, so it's a drama about Ripley's hard life after battling the aliens? I like Ripley, but not that much.

Now, if it was about the ALIENS then we would be talking.

Hmm Sarah Connor Chronicles... Ellen Ripley Chronicles... But only if it has aliens.

EDIT: <3 Ridley Scott!

Edited by Purkake

Ridley Scott + Sigourney Weaver = Win.

Anyway, I'll probably end up buying all three games as well.

The last AvP game made by Rebellion I didn't hear overly good things about.

They did the first one that they did, got confusing for me (particularly the levels where you were an alien running over walls) and it was brutally hard, but it had one of the best Mutliplayer modes (you're predators and marines fighting off waves of aliens)

Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.

Of course they did the first one they did. But they also made the most recent one off the Requiem movie license.

You mean that Predator thingy for the PSP? Who gives a flying sausage?

They better make it rock like the first AvP.

After hearing the dreadful news, I can't feel excited for AvP anymore. The price of discontinuing A:CM and A:RPG for a third AvP is something I rather AvP3 not to happend at all.

Thank you. I paniced a bit when I read that.
