Considering the one who is carrying out the final judgment, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

More likely to take away whatever parts were left and turns it into a Frankenstein in the future.

I just saw that on the Obsidian main page, they have a big banner with the Aliens RPG coming soon for PC, PS3 and 360, so I guess the game is still on?

Huh...I just checked again and now the banner is gone...mysterious. Maybe it'll pop back up.

I'm tempted to blame Sega, but if the Republicans hadn't raped America's economy in the first place, Sega wouldn't be in a position where it needs to fire good staff and cut back on sound investments.

To be fair, Sega has its own mishandlings on the States side. Namely the quality of the games produced in the American branch is pretty disappointing, whatever excuses they may have that resulted in the production quality of Golden Axe: Beastrider and Ironman.

 

But yes, the economy does contribute to Sega's economical state, but not the entire reason to place the fault on.

As far as I'm aware the Iron Man and Hulk licensed games pretty well (Iron Man did at least) the belt-tightening has more to do with the current credit situation. As has been described in other threads games require a lot of up-front capital that won't be recouped until after development has finished, and with credit being scarce all over (although Oz is pretty good in this regard I believe) it might just not be possible to go forward with games they actually want to make.

Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!

Has anybody been talking about the Alien RPG or FPS at GDC???

Its just wrong that Aliens gets canceled, yet fantasy RPG 1,900,765 gets a go ahead. Really hope AP smashes sales expectations and causes Sega to rethink its position.
