Apparently the world has gone mad.

Midway has released the full game Area 51 for download: http://www.gamershell.com/news_61608.html

THQ has released the full game Full Spectrum Warrior for download: http://www.gamershell.com/news_61602.html

Now, I know Full Spectrum Warrior is kind of a tactical game so I'm not really interested. But did anyone try Area 51? Is it worth downloading? Yes, I am so lazy I'd rather ask here first instead of just downloading it and installing it :(

I also noticed that Midway has released The Suffering as a full game download: http://www.gamershell.com/download_33314.shtml

Very generous, I must say. The graphics may suck a little in The Suffering, but it's a decent game nonetheless.

FSW is certainly a different experiance than most other games. I beat it once along time ago and don't see the benefit of doing it again.

Well, both games are crap so I wouldn't even bother with these even if they're for free.

Well free crap is better than crap you have to pay for -and that's mainly what I'm seeing on store shelves at the moment- so I think I'll take my chances.

FSW isn't crap. It's executed very well for its purpose, which was a training aid for army squad leaders to understand suppression and flanking. It becomes very repetitive over time because of that reason, but it was fundamentally designed to hammer home that basic concept.
That's how it started out, but the commercial version is quite different. The original training version can still be unlocked with a cheat code. The commercial version is basically a series of situational puzzles, and on hard difficulty I didn't find it repetitive, because the puzzles get harder and harder.
