Walsingham Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I suppose it was bound to happen. Just as people in the UK began to admit that Little Britain actually isn't funny, it moves. Like a storm of killer locusts. So now you poor bastards will have to put up with 50 bajillion skjetches all based around one pathetic joke, and one pathetic character. There's a man! He walks into newsagents to buy a packet of crisps! But... he's wearing a woman's handbag! Bwahahahahaha! I don't think so. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.

Killian Kalthorne Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 You also gave us "Are You Being Served?" and "Doctor Who" so all can be forgiven. "Your Job is not to die for your country, but set a man on fire, and take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe."
Gorgon Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Doesn't he play at least two other characters as well. Gay times 10, Racist English teacher. It's not that funny I'd agree. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.
SteveThaiBinh Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Like so many things, the original radio series was well-written and very funny, because they were trying to get it onto television - once they managed that, they got lazy and sloppy and the quality nosedived. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Checkpoint Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I haven't seen it in ages, but I thought it was pretty funny. What's with the hate-on? ^Yes, that is a good observation, Checkpoint. /God
Humodour Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 It's hilarious for the first season or two I suppose. Gets old fast, though. And what's with Americans having to make their own version of anything British?
Gorgon Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Anything really, even soppy french romance movies. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.

One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the galaxy. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips. Pidesco Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 It's always the same stupid jokes. And the only joke I really enjoyed was the one with the wheelchair. "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian touristI am Dan Quayle of the Romans.I want to tattoo a map of the Netherlands on my nether lands.Heja Sverige!!Everyone should cuffawkle more. The wrench is your friend.
theslug Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 (edited) I don't enjoy British humor. Never have, never will. Edited September 24, 2008 by theslug There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.
Gfted1 Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 ^Me either for the most part, not even Monty Python. The only one even remotely humorous to me was Benny Hill and I think thats just because I was young and he always had gratuitous amounts of half naked women in his skits. "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
Pidesco Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 You two fail at taste. "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian touristI am Dan Quayle of the Romans.I want to tattoo a map of the Netherlands on my nether lands.Heja Sverige!!Everyone should cuffawkle more. The wrench is your friend.
Killian Kalthorne Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I do like British comedy over American comedy. Red Dwarf is the best British comedy EVAR! "Your Job is not to die for your country, but set a man on fire, and take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe."
Gorgon Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Yeah well it doesn't age that well. I watched a few episodes recently. Other than that funny is funny, I get 'English humor'. There's nothing to 'get' about American humor, but that doesn't mean it can't be funny. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.
theslug Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 There's nothing to 'get' about American humor, but that doesn't mean it can't be funny. Yep. American humor boils down to 10 years of Bob Saget showing a clip of a dude getting nailed in the nuts. That's as deep as it gets. Gorgon Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Surely he's not meant to be funny, merely harmless in a cozy sort of way. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.

Kaftan Barlast Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Ive only seen seasons 1 and 2 of little britain but they were mostly good, your really bad shows seldom make it abroad. Kaftan Barlast Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 One recent British thing that I have trouble with is . He is somewhat funny at times, but mostly its really cheap stuff and I was a bit amazed that he's so popular. One thing I do love is and thats not even a comedy show, its just really funny. I dont even have a proper drivers license, but I watch every episode with semi-religious zeal nontheless. Its nice because Jeremy Clarkson seems to suffer from the same failiure to manage his brain-to-mouth rephlex as I have. (I was almost expelled from uni AGAIN this week for being rude and offensive... in a really funny and clever way, of course.) Kaftan Barlast Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Jeremy Clarkson gets reported for something every single time he makes an apperance in the media, and that just makes you love him even more. Entire countries(malaysia, germany) have tried to drag him to court but to no avail. He's definently on of the top figureheads for compulsive rebels/trolls like me.
