kirottu
I think we all have seen enough scifi movies to know how these things go and the only way to be sure is to nuke the site from the orbit. Aram
Indeed the fact that it makes people sick suggests that nobody will be getting superpowers and no friendly robots will be climbing out of the crater. This can only be a horror movie.

Tale
I've seen someone post this on another forum a number of days ago. I'll repost my response here. Dig 20 feet down anywhere and you'll be surprised what you find. Heat it up and don't be surprised by what gases it gives off. Especially in an area that knows what the word "plumbing" means. taks
Dig 20 feet down anywhere and you'll be surprised what you find. Heat it up and don't be surprised by what gases it gives off. Especially in an area that knows what the word "plumbing" means. this is actually the biggest problem with mines. when you dig into the ground and create a chat pile, all the stuff that was normally held in the rock is now exposed with greatly increased surface area. all these chemicals leech out into the surrounding water/land causing significant problems. when they are still covered, i.e. before being dug up, the chemicals are there, but leech out at a rate that is slow enough to not be an issue. amazing stuff. taks comrade taks... just because. taks
I think we all have seen enough scifi movies to know how these things go and the only way to be sure is to nuke the site from the orbit. well, of course, the problem with this is that all the subsequent rains will turn the dead into zombies and there will be hell to pay in the aftermath. a big fence, IMO, and let them each each other till there are no more worries. taks comrade taks... just because. Atreides
Germs taken to space come back deadlier The germ: Salmonella, best known as a culprit of food poisoning. The trip: Space Shuttle STS-115, September 2006. The reason: Scientists wanted to see how space travel affects germs, so they took some along Spreading beauty with my katana. SteveThaiBinh
They found the cause, arsenic in the water. Nasty. At least it's not the World Bank's fault (this time). Do they say why the 'space germs' are more deadly? "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
