Tel Aviv
Eureka Seven. 18 episodes in and I'm struggling to like any of the characters. theslug
Eureka Seven. 18 episodes in and I'm struggling to like any of the characters. Renton's a bit pathetic, Holland's an arsehole and Eureka's moody. And lets not forget her kids. Little ****s! I liked it. The kids and the ending really ruined it though. There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.

Renton's a bit pathetic, Holland's an arsehole and Eureka's moody. And lets not forget her kids. Little ****s! It's a so-so series. I do like however that Holland redeems his assh****ness completely by the end of the series though. theslug
Well... Just finished Haibane Renmei and have to think a bit. Very good music. Very sparse in explanations... Hmhmhm... I thought the concept of angels and stuff was neat but the show wasn't that exciting or anything. I remember it being pretty nice to look at as well but it just didn't have anything that grabbed me. I started watching macross frontier. I'm not sure whether I like it or not. A behemouth woman with large breasts slapped an equally enormous gundam in the face then fly off into space. Something about that struck me as strange. Edit: Also isn't it supposed to be like an action show and not futuristic japanese american idol with aliens and gigantic ships that turn into gundams Edited June 8, 2008 by theslug There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. Tale
Edit: Also isn't it supposed to be like an action show and not futuristic japanese american idol with aliens and gigantic ships that turn into gundams You've never watched Macross before, have you? The villain of Macross Plus was an AI pop musician. The multiple series have constantly been about love and the power of music (also robots) I believe Macross 7 was literally about a rockband that fought aliens with music weapons, even. Frontier is one series I'm definitely looking forward to hitting the states. I'm still watching Dragonball Z. Just about done with Frieza Saga. Calax
Dbz has the wierdest timekeeping, one thirty minute episode= 1 minute show time. then they have a 20 year jump between two later episodes. Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Tale
It seems that way. "5 minutes until Namek explodes" 8 episodes later "BOOM" But, they do say that the planet lasted longer than expected. Zoma
Frontier is one series I'm definitely looking forward to hitting the states. Pray Harmony Gold goes bankrupt and Carl Mack dies of heart attack at the same time if you ever want to see Frontier brought over to the States. Maybe twenty years later when there are no longer Robotech fans. I started watching macross frontier. I'm not sure whether I like it or not. A behemouth woman with large breasts slapped an equally enormous gundam in the face then fly off into space. Something about that struck me as strange. I guess you are new to the series. Macross is not like Gundam. There are no politics BS involved in the show, no forced philosophical lecture about war and no super robots that could perform laser spams to kill off a horde of enemies(Yes, I'm talking about you Kira Yamato). It is also the first anime series I believe that popularizes mecha transformation way before gundam(Zeta Gundam). Macross is a series that tells the power of love songs. Heck, the first Space War that prevented the extinction of mankind was won by singing! What makes up the Macross Franchise: -Love triangle -Music -Music idols -Itano Circus There's nothing Gundam'ish about it. theslug
I just started watching soul eater was well. Interesting concepts and really wacky art and characters, sometimes a little too silly though. Zoma
Problem is Tale, its more than just the name "Macross". It involves the mech designs as well, the insignia of the UN Spacy, the Valkries itself and some what other kind of details I'm not even aware of. Otherwise you would have already seen Macross superior model kits from Bandai instead of from Harmony Gold in the states. In addition if the problem is as simple as you mentioned, Macross Zero would had already got to the state side a long long time ago and considering the extreme popularity of Frontier in Japan right now, like many other series, Bandai would had already licensed it by now. Tale
http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?p=1638892 This thread actually seems to have more information than simply "because it hasn't been done yet." Big West hasn't done anything to see Macross be brought over. Harmony Gold's claim is only to the original and through Tatsunoku. Big West owns the copyright to everything else and there are japanese court verdicts backing them. Now, it's still not simple. Big West isn't making any moves to license Zero or Frontier. And seemingly there's a possibility of Harmony Gold launching a lawsuit that they'll probably lose, but will still cost money. Musopticon?
Well, damn. Just when I was starting to get the characters in Soul Eater, the author picks up the pace. Now there main character is seeings dreams where a midget imp in a suit dances to cheesy jazz in a garish room with massive red curtains. I mean, how freaking obvious can a reference be? I don't know what is wrong with the guy, but I'm loving it. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food.
