Musopticon?
I've been going solidly 8 kilometres in about 30 minutes, but college sort of killed it, this is the first week since May that I haven't run at least twice. theslug
I'm going to fix my bike up and star ruling the streets with an iron bat like back in the old days. I hate running. There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.
Tale
I was doing a mile and a half, but overdid myself and nearly got shin splints. Took a week or so off from it and am back taking it much easier. I do .6 miles straight, and then I take the odd break for the rest of the way. I also gained 20-30 pounds at one point because of the cruise I went on and all the buffet. So, as I lose that it'll be easier to get back to where I was. Guard Dog
I run 2-3 times a week. Usually I go 1-2 miles if I have a dog with me. If I don't I ususally go 2. Plus I am going to enter the Miami Dade Run For The Animals 10k later next month. The money goes to benefit the Miami Dade Rescue Railroad and te Dade Humane Society. But I never time myself. Since I left the military I really have not cared how fast I could run. I think usually I run 10 min miles. But I know I could do it faster. But it's not a race. Gorgon
Since some twerp stole my bike I have had to walk everywhere, public transportation is a joke. An hour to work and back, I bet thats real heathy though. I don't subscribe to the philosophy of moving with no tangible purpose other than improving my constitution, much less running. The vast majority of self inflicted injuries are fitness related, I might not live to be a hundred but at least i'll have all my tendons and joins in good working order. I don't believe humans can move that fast... *regards solid lard-based physique dubiously* 1.5 miles = 2 414,016 meters. 10.5 minutes = 630 seconds. 2414,016/630 ~ 3.8 m/s. It's actually not very difficult to run that fast, but of course not everyone can do it. I've been going solidly 8 kilometres in about 30 minutes, but college sort of killed it, this is the first week since May that I haven't run at least twice. So you're claiming that you're able to keep a pace of 3.40 per kilometer for eight kilometers straight? I have a really hard time believing that. Musopticon?
Yeah, me as well. I have to run the trip through with a distance meter, once I acquire one. I estimate that it's more like 6 kilometres than that outrageous amount. It's about plausible for me in half an hour, since after a half an hour of straight running I start to lose speed rather than keep a pace. Guest The Architect
There was some talk about innerbandy in here, and I love that sport. It's killer fast and taxes you like nothing else. Am anxious. Tell me more. Please? It's probably one of those dangerous contact sports that I wouldn't be allowed to play because of my MC, right? Probably something kinda like a game I used to play back before my MC called bashball, which is rugby rules {except you can throw the ball forward, and hand ball Aussie Rules style if you want}, played with a soccer ball, in a cricket net and you're supposed to hit any part of the wall to score, or get the ball out of the cricket net, depending on which way you're going. It was crazy as hell, but it should only be played with no more than 12 people per net.

Musopticon?
Man, tennis is even wimpier. Trust me, I've done both. Though it's not like innebandy needs skill, Finns just know no moderation when something like villainy between friends over pride is concerned. theslug
I'm going to step in place for hurlshot and say you guys are a bunch of wussy boys. Hockey is a real man's sport. Requires skill, dexterity, and the ferocity to punch a man in the face even after he's slashed your throat with his skate, then when you let go of his jersey and his lifeless and bloodied corpse falls to the ground and crimson fills your lungs you'll forever be a hero in the hearts of many a Canadian.
