WITHTEETH Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Chopped cardboard, softened with an industrial chemical and flavored with fatty pork and powdered seasoning, is a main ingredient in batches of steamed buns... Laozi Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 (edited) Laozi never eats the Baozi But it would explain those playing cards I passed the other day. Edited July 13, 2007 by Laozi People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
Fenghuang Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Brings whole new meaning to the phrase "This tastes like cardboard." RIP
LadyCrimson Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Don't eat the buns. “Things are as they are. Looking out into the universe at night, we make no comparisons between right and wrong stars, nor between well and badly arranged constellations.” – Alan Watts
julianw Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 At least their baozi has a good amount of healthy fiber...

Guest The Architect Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 (edited) ^ Well, I'd rather eat Chinese food than drink blood and eat... whatever it is your kind eats, if anything. Edited July 14, 2007 by The Architect
Hiro Protagonist Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 ...made from cardboard. Sounds delicious. mmm, yummy. Just as bad as the Hungry-Man breakfast.
Azarkon Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Chinese food = bad You don't like cardboard? Shame on you. Seriously though if you ever visit China don't just go into any random restaurant. Stick to the expensive, foreign-catering restaurants - they usually have much higher standards and won't likely run into shady dealings like their poorer counterparts. That, or hire a local expert to guide you - they usually know the popular scams. There are doors
Gorth Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 (edited) mmm, yummy. Just as bad as the Hungry-Man breakfast. They could ship a single container of those to Africa and they would have no famine for an entire year. Edit: Malnutrition perhaps, but not starvation. jaguars4ever Posted July 14, 2007 Author Posted July 14, 2007 mmm, yummy. Just as bad as the Hungry-Man breakfast. They could ship a single container of those to Africa and they would have no famine for an entire year. Assuming, of course, they don't ship it back.
Walsingham Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 ...made from cardboard. Sounds delicious. mmm, yummy. Just as bad as the Hungry-Man breakfast. 1000 calories may be high if you're on a diet, but an adult mae is supposed to consume roughly 2500 calories daily if he's active. Eating over a third at breakfast is fine, if you have a moderate lunch. The worst thing is the fat, but one thing to be sure of is that high fat keeps you feeling full longer. Nutritionally I don't see anything very wrong with this meal. Certainly nothing worth shrieking about. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Atreides Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 China scares me at times. With the focus on their substandard food exports, this is getting disturbing. I mean the stuff they put in isn't even related to food. It's to make a quick buck. It's like capitalism gone wrong, but to be fair to the "theory", the buyers have incomplete information on the trade (they don't know they're eating cardboard or melanin in their wheat gluten) so it's not a valid exchange. If they did know that they'd obviously buy something else, probably. Regulation and rules are important in case ethics fail, which is disturbingly common in China. FFS, the stuff they put in isn't even food by most definitions. Spreading beauty with my katana.
Walsingham Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 You don't think this that, given the way we keep having these stories of a sudden that this could be part of certain elements in the media/government taking it upon themselves to hurt Chinese exports as punishment for their supporting Iran and Sudan? EDIT: 231%? I thought that said 23.1%! "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. Gorgon Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 It's like capitalism gone wrong No, it's Capitalism undiluted and unregulated. Ironically exactly what the whole concept of Comunism is supposed to be the cure for. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.
Aram Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 So why doesn't some enterprising capitalist make real food with the slogan "not cardboard" and strike it rich? If people want to eat the cardboard that's their problem.

Arkan Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 The 231% Cholesterol doesn't scare you? Gonna die some time. Might as well enjoy life and eat what you want. Except that that hungry man dinner does not look enjoyable. "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." - Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials "I have also been slowly coming to the realisation that knowledge and happiness are not necessarily coincident, and quite often mutually exclusive" - meta
Walsingham Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 I agree it does look revolting. If I wanted to absorb the same calories I'd have sour cream, ham, and plum jam pampushki. Or banja caulda. Oh man... I've never really liked Chinese food. I don't mean any disrespect to the cuisine. I just think it's a bit bland. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.
