Hurlshort
I don't think he's saying it's a bad thing Richard Garriot is the media face, he's just saying it doesn't guarantee the rebirth of the Ultima series. Tabula Rasa looked terrible a few years ago, basically like a sci fi version of Lineage 2. They scrapped that though, but I still don't see this having a good shot at revolutionizing MMO's. I'll believe it when I see it.
Jorian Drake
I recognise Neo and Jacky Chan, but who is the girl? ...the girl from Dreamfall? Yes, MMO. Mummy help me you might think. But this one looks pretty interesting, and might as well get me into the genre. Plus extraordinary writer-genius Ragnar Tornquist (The Longest Journey, Dreamfall) works on it, and he often claimed he wants to do something innovative with it. But yes, let's wait and see.... whatever the game itself will be like, because you will meet other players and because their actions, its still a wasted opportunity for a great SP game Edited May 17, 2007 by Jorian Drake

Morgoth
I guess it should keep me entertained for 1-2 weeks, like any other MMO. Oh shut up Morgoth. Anyways, there's a cool new cinematic trailer for TSW: Click And some cool new artworks: Also, Gamestar previewed TSW and had a little nice chat with Ragnar Tornquist. Click (German only) I'm not gonna translate that all now because I'm too lazy but a few new interesting things were revealed, like there's no grinding at all, focus is more on skills and artefacts, characters learn more from the items/weapons they're using instead of leveling up, plus the continuously developed story (not believing that, but hey). The game will take place In NYC, London and Seoul and ranges from time periods between 1923 - 2023. Anyway, it sounded very refreshing. I'm certainly more looking forward to this than to SWTOR right now. Rain makes everything better.
Jaesun
This.... actually sounds kinda cool. And I HATE MMOG's. Still more interested in the WoD MMOG. Just cuz I LOVE that setting. Curious to see what Secret World's game mechanics will end up being. Niten_Ryu
Damn those pics look nice. Best part of this game have been various puzzles on their messageboard. I have to admit that I just about given up hope after Age of Conan fiasco but setting is still interesting enough to at least try the beta. Let's play Alpha Protocol My misadventures on youtube. Morgoth
AoC was created by a different team, while TSW is being developed by Anarchy Online, Everquest2, Dreamfall and Longest Journey veterans. So there's hope they're gonna make it different gameplay wise, and aim for the non-WoW crowd. Because it already showed that by trying to imitate WoW, you'll only lose. Rain makes everything better. Jaesun
"That is a challenge, because yes, people are used to the damage/healer/tank dynamic," Tornquist admits. "In certain situations that dynamic will still exist, it's just a case of making sure your group stacks the deck of cards the right way, if you see what I mean. You do need this set of abilities, or this or this, but the main difference is you're not stuck being the healer or the tank." See that's what turned me off of WoW. If you play a Tank, you have to always play a tank, and always have to do X when playing a tank. Rinse, repeat. boring. If only Asherons Call was still around, they could show them how a good MMOG could be. You can have an uber machine, but you would be happy if your PC AoC can handle 15v15 PvP Battle in AoC i have ****ty PC: Single core Athlon64 3500+, 2GB RAM, nvidia 9600GT 512, and i can join 100vs100 battles in Darkfall without my PC dieing for example... My PC can't handle AoC at all and i do not plan to upgrade my PC at least 1 more year... where do you think my monthly subscriptions are going? and a lot of WoW players are playing on notebooks with intel graphics without problems... that notebooks can't handle AoC aswell... playing MMOs and PC games on notebooks is becoming more common nowadays... If you don't optimise your game to be playable on notebooks with shared GPUs, you will lose lot of subscribers... here is an example how on recommended system specs for MMO that wants to get big slice of subscription pie http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2009/04...equirements.ars Edited April 7, 2009 by Mamoulian War Sent from my Stone Tablet, using Chisel-a-Talk 2000BC. Lack of high lvl content = sucky gameplay Gameplay typically refers to the actual mechanics, such as combat. High lvl content falls into the content category. So yes, AoC had content issues.
