Watched The Inside Man. Denzel Washington is pretty awesome and it's definitely a good movie. Nice twist and not just another stupid bank robbery movie. 5/5

Just watched pan's labyrinth, and I gotta say the ending is pretty sad and stuff but it was a good movie none the less. I would of liked it more if they had put more fairy tale stuff in it though, it was definitely lacking in that respect for sure. I mean how do you name a movie pan's labyrinth and make it seem like a crazy fairy tale movie and have like only a half an hour of the entire film about that. 4/5

There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.

Watching Return of the Jedi inbetween minor chores. It looks nice in HD, but I wish HBO would stop playing the six SW films over and over every day and play some new stuff.

Kingdom of Heaven. This is one of those movies that was "only ok" when I originally saw it. Upon re-watching, it played a lot better and I'd give it a much higher mark than I did originally.

It was funny to see Lucias (sp?) from HBO's Rome in a small role during the 1st 30 minutes of the movie. I didn't know the actor when I first saw it, of course, so I was, like "oh oh! That's the guy from Rome". heh

It's even funnier that he plays basically the same role. I think the beginning fights scene in Kingdom of Heaven is one of the best I've ever seen. The rest of the movie is ok, but it fails to live up to that moment. I almost want a prequel where we get to see Liam Neeson's band go about killing folks.

I was also hoping that it would highlight the hipocrisy of the whole "Christianity is so much more peaceful than Islam", but it failed to make any real idealogical stances.

The Departed.

Considered all the hoopla it's had, it didn't seem all that. The ending 1/4 had a good pace and drama to it, and of course most of the acting was top notch. I might give it .. 6.5/10 perhaps. But then, I'm probably in that minority who doesn't care for Martin Scorsese films all that much.

Anyway, I watched the Magnificent Seven this evening. It was magnificent. They call it the Western version of Seven Samurai.

It is an adaptation of Seven Samurai. Which is a lot better, by the way.

But we can all agree that the Seven Samurai is awesome.

Almost as awesome as Yojimbo.

I dunno, I mean, I'm pretty sure Ran is the greatest film ever made, but Sword of Doom ends with Tatsuya Nakadai going barmy and successively slashing - and slaying, I assume - (around) 50 samurai.

(Yeah, I broke the chain.)

Yeah, you did.

I don't think I've seen Sword of Doom yet, should I?

I'm not sure, it's not really that great - a few scenes are hilariously melodramatic, and like, the film doesn't really have any kind of denouement (it ends during the final battle; it was supposed to be the first in a series) - but both Nakadai and Mifune slaughter immense amounts of people, and Nakadai's acting's kind of enjoyable. I'd say watch it, but with other people present, so as to laugh en group at the film's general ludicrousness and - well - rah at the immensely competent fight scenes.

(The Samurai film chain, as opposed to the Kurosawa film chain.)

Just watched Children Of Men. The concept and stuff is cool but as a film I was very unimpressed. Ending sucked the black snake hardcore but the acting was good and a lot of people were needlessly murdered so all in all i give it a 3.5/5
