Pidesco Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 So Kor showed me a song by this band called Wham... I think they were big in the 80's *shrug* Wake Me Up I must have been six when I first saw that video, but even then I already thought those guys looked a little odd. "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian touristI am Dan Quayle of the Romans.I want to tattoo a map of the Netherlands on my nether lands.Heja Sverige!!Everyone should cuffawkle more. The wrench is your friend.
Baley Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 There's nothing odd about Andrew Ridgeley... look, there's girls! Odetta - John Henry.
Dark_Raven Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Jefferson Airplane "White Rabbit" Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Darth Drabek Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Interpol - Obstacle 1 I could never really get into these guys. I liked the music, but hated the singer. baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
Pop Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Interpol - Obstacle 1 I could never really get into these guys. I liked the music, but hated the singer. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not a Joy Division fan, then? That guy sounds just like Ian Curtis. I always preferred the Editors, they also sound just like Joy Division, but more like Joy Division covering U2. It's most awesome. Lou Reed - Take a Walk on the Wild Side Joanna Newsom - Cosmia (Harpists are so hot right now) Bobby Byrd - Try it Again Ministry - Every Day is Halloween (!!!) Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
Darth Drabek Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 (edited) I suppose you could say listening to Interpol, Joy Division, or any of those gloomy post-punk (or gloomy post-punk revival) bands makes me feel like stabbing...my self... in ... the neck. * italics read in a monotone not unlike the entire Interpol record. I tried Joy Division after hearing about how they were really cool and influenced all these cool bands. Obviously it's just my POV, but they suck and they spawned a bunch of terrible bands that suck even more, because at least Joy Division was being original. Interpol deserves their rep as a knockoff (excuse me, throwback), although I've heard the newer album has a more original sound to it. The Pogues - The Broad Majestic Shannon edited for a typo that was actually quite funny, in a linguistic sort of way. Laozi Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 But just like interpol, almost all Pogue songs sound the same, drunken. Sonic Youth -- teenage riot People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
Darth Drabek Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 But just like interpol, almost all Pogue songs sound the same, drunken. Sonic Youth -- teenage riot <{POST_SNAPBACK}> True, but I like sped up drunken Irish folk songs. That's the difference. I like Bad Religion too, and you know they've been writing and recording the same song for 20 years now. :D Mashup alert! The Twilight Singers/Massive Attack - Live With Me This is the original video for the Massive Attack song, paired with the music by Dulli, Lanegan and company. Once their version finishes, the original song fades in for the rest of the video. I posted the original vid a while back. It's the one where the girl gets really, really drunk by herself. baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs

Darth Drabek Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 The Twilight Singers/Massive Attack - Live With Me <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What album is that off of, Drabs? The Posies - Definate Door <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's off the new EP, A Stitch in Time. It's been available on iTunes for a while, but I think they just recently released a hard copy. Spiderbait - Black Betty The video is a highlight film for Ohio State receiver Ted Ginn Jr. Somebody put this song (and Andrew WK's "Party Hard") with the football clips to make their own little Ted Ginn mixtape. baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs

Tyrone, 'member no cursin front of Ms. Vercey, Big Percy, Crazy Paul, the Sledge Sisters; I've been listening to Stillmatic, and while Nas knows how to spin a rhyme and weave a tale, he's got the most inconsistent taste in beats I've ever heard. Three great tracks (2nd Childhood, What Goes Around, One Mic), a couple decent ones (Ether, You're the Man, Every Ghetto), and a plethora of filler and strung-out garbage. And for all you cheap bastards, Kweli and Madlib have released a free LP entitled Liberation, I've yet to listen to it as there's no hurry and I often tire of Talib's blather, but it looks like he's still sticking it to the man, i.e. the US Government - way to go, Equality. Madlib's the man, though, and here's . As for me: Where the white women at? - Shlomo's got 'em (Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Patty Griffin, Gillian Welch, and Patty Loveless to be exact and crispy clear).
