Davalos Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Hello everyone, I have been looking everywhere to find a Pazaak deck so that I can play in the comforts of my own home without the computer. I could print one of myself, but I want something of higher quality than that. I found a few websites of printing companies that would do the work, but they want me to order a minimum of anywhere from 50 to 3000 decks. Anyone know of a company that would print just one deck? Or maybe anyone else who's interested in having their own deck could reply to this message, and we could pool resources to have a big company print us all a deck. There would have to be at least 50 of us.
Lost Jedi Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 I'm interested in getting a deck... probably two, if they're cheap enough, so I can play with other people rather than just count cards.
Sturm Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Yay, taking KotOR to the next level and getting Pazaak cards!
Plano Skywalker Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 well, there is precedent for it....companies sell (or at least used to) officially-licensed Star Trek 3D Chess, for instance. I don't know if Dejarik or Pazaak has ever been sold like that but it probably would sell quite well.
Gorgon Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 It would probably be copyright infringement to band together here and share the cost of the smallest batch available, mores the pity. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.

Plano Skywalker Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Pfft, but that's StarTrek. Completely different. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yeah, it seems LFL is not as keen on such things. Dejarik is, obviously, an allusion to Chess and Pazaak is just a modified Blackjack.

Completely different. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, I first thought Pazaak was pretty much like Black jack, except you have to get to 20, and you have cards that you can put in yourself, and that it doesnt really rely around the 2 cards that you start off originally. Have you tried Ebay? Bound to have some sleezy person from Asia trying to sell you it, yep happened to me before, minus me wanting to buy the Pazaak deck.
Xard Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. I dare you to show your builds and I will tear you apart in an arugment about how these builds will won them. - OverPowered Godzilla (OPG)

Darth Mortis Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 It would probably be copyright infringement to band together here and share the cost of the smallest batch available, mores the pity. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think Gorgon is correct, GL & LA do tend to be very protective of their trademark, and I have a feeling they would abject to anyone making money off something included in one of their games. Even if the Starwars logo wasn't included on the cards, or even mentioned, they would probably make a load noise and start talking to lawyers about taking any company that tried to make Pazaak cards to court, and/or the person(s) who asked them to. While making a deck or two for your own use, or that of friends, isn't going to bother them. Having a couple of hundred or a few thousand decks made would. The safest thing to do is to get in touch with LA and talk to them, make sure that they would not sue you if you had a couple of decks made. (Called covering your backside). If they are ok with the idea great, if their not you'd have to somehow convince them it would be worth while granting a licence to someone. A petition here with enough people saying that they would buy the decks might convince them that they could make some money out of this. Since they already produce Top-Trump games for Starwars producing Pazaak decks should be easy for them, at least thats the theory. They could do a good job of this if so inclined, selling the side decks seporate to the main decks would be fun if you had no idea what cards were in the sidedecks until after you opened them.
Plano Skywalker Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 all I know is, the next version of KOTOR needs to have a "multiplayer" version of Pazaak (by Multiplayer, I mean, you aren't the only one playing against the dealer at the same time....side betting on someone else would be cool too) and being able to look at the table isometrically (you can see the other sprites and, possibly, yourself) just like you would expect in a casino game. you can just sit there and keep playing until you break the bank or run out of money.
DAWUSS Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 How many random cards (the green ones) would you need to make the game even possible? DAWUSS Dawes ain't too bright. Hitting rock bottom is when you leave 2 tickets on the dash of your car, leave it unlocked hoping someone will steal them & when you come back, there are 4 tickets on your dashboard.
Plano Skywalker Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 How many random cards (the green ones) would you need to make the game even possible? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> are you talking about the multiplayer version? well, K2 actually uses a finite deck (while K1 just created cards as needed). basically, the multiplayer version would be dealt from a 6- or 8-deck shoe (similar to casino Blackjack).

ghosta Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 (edited) I thought a pazzak deck had only 40 cards in it and assumed the deck was shuffled after each set, but I'm probly wrong For the meantime your just going to have to settle with usiing several decks of ordinary playing cards. Edited January 24, 2007 by ghosta Your not all ways being honest when your telling the truth. Everything slows down when water's around.
fleshcutter Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 yeah, ill do it, ive been searching for print outs on the net so i can play with my freinds for a while, and i came across this topic, i say bring pazaak to the streets of earth
