Kor Qel Droma Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Neil Diamond - Sweet Caroline I had to go back to work today after having two weeks off. Dreading it I was, to be honest, but the first tune I heard over the PA was good ol' Neil, like the bugger was welcoming me back. Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.

Kor Qel Droma Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 The Hold Steady makes me think that Counting Crows have met Five For Fighting with a touch of Bruce Hornsby. Liz Phair - Never Said Nothing seriously, who wouldn't want a go with Liz Phair? Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
Darth Drabek Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Yeah, my first impression was Counting Crows too. And Hornsby is a good approximation for the singer. I used to drink (and occasionally work) with a guy who said he had a chance at a one-night stand with Liz Phair back in her pre-Exile in Guyville days when she was playing college town bars, touring in a beat-up van. To hear him tell it, she slept in his bed in his apartment and he slept on the couch. He was really serious with his girl, see, and he didn't want to screw it up by sleeping with a rock and roll gal. Of course, everyone at work regarded this guy as a huge liar, so who knows if it actually happened? Either way, it's a good story to tell over a few pints. Razorlight - Los Angeles Waltz baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
Kor Qel Droma Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Heh, the closest sort of story to that would be when a whole group of us went to see Guns N' Roses back on the Use Your Illusion tour. One of the guys sisters made it backstage and met the band. She said Slash gave her a hug. My friends all decided it would be a better story if they told everyone that Slash squeezed her tit instead. The second version was the one that everyone thought was true for some strange reason. And if I would have been in your buddies shoes, I would have tapped a younger Miss Phair. Gentlemen don't tell, they take polaroids instead. Oasis - Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
Darth Drabek Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Heh heh... all right last one and then I'm hitting the sack. Nick Cave - Into My Arms baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
